Neverending flashing smileys + spotting

Hi!  First post here:)  I am 31 and have been TTC for about a year.

Medical background: Hormones tests normal/ultrasound normal (some small cysts), healthy BMI (19.5), slight hypothyroid (TSH ~4; Dr. will not treat).  I do bleed with Provera (April), but since going off BCP, I have only had 1 natural period (began July 3).

Since I had a natural period last month, I was *hoping* my body finally woke up and decided to use ClearBlue Advanced OPK.  I started the kit on CD 10 and began getting flashing smileys on CD 19.  I gave up after a week of flashing smileys.  I spotted on CD 24 (light pink 1x), then spotted again on CD 31 (small amount of blood 1x).  No spotting since and today is CD 34.

I have Provera + 50 mg Clomid from by OBGYN, but would like to wait for AF if at all possible (Provera makes me feel sick + rage uncontrollably).  However, I'd like to get the show on the road if AF isn't coming!  Has anyone experienced anything similar?  I've never spotted so I can't decide if these 2 instances are as much AF as I'll get this "cycle" or if I should keep waiting.

  • @lesmis87 I'm sorry that you find yourself here, but welcome to the group! I'm afraid I don't have any personal experience with what you're going through and forgive me if this is obvious, but have you taken a pregnancy test? If yes and it was negative, then I think it's usually recommended to call your doctor if you haven't had a true period (full/red blood flow) in 60 days. Maybe try to wait it out a bit longer and then call or start the Provera if it gets to be that late?  You're welcome to join in on our weekly check-ins where you can ask questions to the whole group and might get some better answers there. GL!
