Where are you in the process right now (just thinking, home study, waiting for match, etc.) Waiting to be matched. 

Anything new and exciting happening this month in your process? Our sw asked us if we would be more open to birth mothers with drug issues and certain mental illnesses or other diseases to increase our chances of getting matched. After speaking with a pediatrician who specializes in international adoption and foster care, we've opened up our preferences more. I want to follow up with our sw in a couple of months to see how it is going.

Also, we're considering going under contract with a 2nd agency that is nationwide. Might be more expensive, but we want to see if we can get matched sooner than later.

Any questions? For those of you who are looking to adopt an infant like we are, how are you looking to find birth parents? Are you signing with more than 1 agency? Doing your own advertising? Anything else?

Any tips for the steps you’ve passed? The more open you are in the beginning, the less time it may take to get you matched. Also, don't be afraid to get feedback from the sw that actually selects the birth parents. What are the mothers saying when they don't choose your profile?

GTKY (Get to know you) What movie are you/were you most looking forward to seeing this year? Believe it or not it's the Magical Beasts movie coming out in November. I cannot seem to get enough of these Harry Potter and Spinoff movies.

Where are you in the process right now (just thinking, home study, waiting for match, etc.)
We have placement of a sassy 2-year old girl who has been with us since she was 3-days old.  We are in the home stretch of the adoption process, but are still waiting to finalize.  We also recently had a 4-day old baby boy placed with us, who we will likely be adopting as he was safely surrendered.  

Anything new and exciting happening this month in your process?
The most exciting news this month is the addition of our sweet baby boy.

Any tips for the steps you’ve passed?
For foster care, be specific about what you are looking for in a placement, without being overly restrictive.  Form positive relationships with the placing workers at your agency.

Honestly, I don't get out to the movies much.  I don't think that I even know what movies are coming out this year.
