Saturday I went to my a birthday party for my friends 2yr old. It was nice to see her briefly but it was so hot I couldn't really enjoy it. The friend I rode with had to leave early for work so I didnt even get cake!! ): Today DH and my mom are painting the nursery and our room and I'm going to be working on some decorations for my shower! This week probably work on more crafts and pack for class in Boston I have for two weeks.. watching my God daughter on Friday and I have a drs. Appointment that morning!
I am finishing up week two of two week long back to back festivals. Mentally and emotionally I am done. I have been testing my blood sugar (for those that haven't heard this a million times already) and I wanted to cry. My 1 hr after breakfast was 136, my midwife wants me at 120 or under. The kicker is I ate this exact same thing yesterday for breakfast and other days and the numbers were fine. I have an hour and a half prenatal massage tomorrow afternoon and I am SO very much looking forward to it! Dr appointment Monday and Tuesday so we will see what they say about almost two weeks of blood sugar testing. Busy week next week but an easier week.
DH and BIL took the kids to the carnival yesterday, and I went and had a mani/pedi which I haven’t done in forever (I can’t wear polish to work because we have to scrub in to the OR). Today we’re going out for breakfast, picking up some groceries, and then I’m not sure.
DH is out of town this weekend, so yesterday I spent some time with a couple girlfriends. Today, I made myself doughnuts (pic in spoiler) and plan on doing a whole lot of nothing. I’m excited!
Yesterday I had my glucose test in the morning (I got sent for the long one automatically because of my weight) and I passed with flying colours thankfully! Then we took my kids down across the border into Washington where my sister has a vacation property to drop them off for the night. DH and I went to dinner and a movie last night and then took the dogs out for a late night stroll. This morning we did some chores and went out for brunch - not having children for 24 hours has been so relaxing!
This week my DDs day camp was cancelled due to low registration so I’m taking a few days off to stay home with her and then we’re packing up to go to a family reunion next weekend as it’s a long weekend here!
On the train home from a girls weekend in Montreal. I have to say these prescription socks work really well for long periods of sitting! Didn’t notice the baby moving too much on the weekend and then got freaked out because the streets of the big city had way more second hand smoke (cigarettes and pot) than I’m used to at home! I thinrk it probably had more to do with the 28k steps I was doing to lull baby to sleep which did cause my pelvis to get pretty sore, like the whole front of where my underwear are was bruised. Lightning crotch or just overdoing it? Also experienced my first exposure of thighs chaffing and hands swelling from wearing a dress and walking for hours in the summer heat. Vaccines tomorrow for me and the husband and then an ultrasound on Tuesday to check my placenta. Can’t wait to get another glimpse of baby!
I am officially on vacation for a week!! Hallellujah.
Yesterday I had a birthday party for my friends 1 year old. It was ok, very hot and a tad boring. But I did get to snuggle a 2 week old and was in heaven!
Today we've been lazing and doing things around the house. I did some cleaning and DH ripped up the floors in the nursery so we can start tackling that!
Next week we are at the cottage for the week. So excited for some sun and relaxing and most importantly not work!
We went and did our hospital ward informational class and tour yesterday. It’s feeling a lot more real! The kids stayed with my inlaws Friday night and then we met them last night for a family dinner with H’s aunt, uncle and cousins. We had a great time but the kids were definitely out too late and were a disaster by the end of the night. Oh well!
Today H took A to Fry’s Electronics for a guys day while E and I are at home watching Moana and Tangled. I just love snuggles with my girl! It’s totally a chill day.
On our babymoon in Acadia! Hiked two days in a row and hands swelled both days but went down after lots of water and cooling down. Enjoying being with H in beautiful places with delicious food. I also must admit that it’s nice staying in s hotel instead of camping — which I learned the hard way last weekend is not doable right now for me.
Trying to keep work stress out of my head and just enjoy vacation. We go back home on Tuesday.
We went out in the boat today! Finally not windy so we could actually enjoy ourselves instead of stressing about the waves. Took home a couple nice fish for dinner.
This week we will tackle to nursery more and hopefully get to some painting before the weekend.
@SweetSweetTooth I give you major credit because I'm exhausted after just my busy weekend of chores and you've been working long days at the festival. Hoping the news at your midwife wont be too bad.
Had a busy weekend being productive around home. Lots of laundry and cleaning mostly. Got the clothes I have for G so far put away. Now I'm beat. Decided grocery shopping will happen tomorrow.
Had some really sharp pains in my belly Saturday for nearly an hour. They literally brought me to tears. Called the midwife and thankfully they subsided after hubby helped me into a warm shower. Ended up sleeping the majority of the day after that.
Today hubby and I did some last minute fixes on the house before we move next month and our new tenants move in here. My mom came over with my great nephew. For those who read the family thread you'll recall the love/hate relationship we have. If it hadn't been for my great nephew wanting to play with my son, I would've avoided her this weekend all together. I was happy they didn't stay long. I was ready for her to leave when she arrived.
@ummibtihaj that sounds awful, I hope everything is ok and you are feeling better!
I graduated with my masters Saturday (yay!!) and hubby threw me a big party with friends and fam right after so it was a LONG day. My back was killing me and ankles were so swollen but it was totally worth it. My mom flew in for the weekend and left yesterday evening so we just hung around the house and enjoyed down time together +eating lots of leftover cake and bbq during the day
DH and I had our maternity photos done this morning and fortunately had the foresight to take off work the rest of the day so finally getting to be lazy just the two of us. I think the rest of the week will probably be more of the same now that I don't have to worry about schoolwork anymore. So happy to now be able to fully focus on baby!
Heyyyy the bump app finally let me log back in after locking me out a week ago! Lol
Friday DH and I had a dr’s appt where baby girl was measuring right on time - we loved hearing the heartbeat again. Then we did a meet and greet with a pediatrician before going out to lunch together.
Today we took “Safe and Sound at Home” baby class at the hospital. It was great information! We covered infant CPR and choking, safe sleeping, car seat safety and new requirements, poison prevention, and then things like bathing, swaddling, and changing a diaper.
Yesterday I pruned and harvested the garden, took the dog for a 40 min walk, did a few loads of laundry, and meal prepped for the week. I made a berry oatmeal bake, homemade Pad Thai, cut up cantaloupe and berries for snacks, portioned out yogurt with granola, and made weight watchers pumpkin muffins (I don’t care about the weight watchers part - they are just so delicious lol). Then we went to dinner with my in laws to celebrate DH’s bday.
DH’s big 30th birthday is tomorrow. I went out this weekend and picked up his big gift that was delivered to the store, got a card and more wrapping paper, and ordered specialty cupcakes. He went all out for my 30th and rented out a room at a bar with food and drink for 20 of my friends. However, he’s more introverted and didn’t want a birthday party for himself, so I decided to use the money I would have spent on a party and get him a bunch of gifts instead (9 small-moderate things and one giant gift - a floor standing variable drill press for his workshop that he’s been asking to get for 5 years). Then we’ll go out to dinner and celebrate the way he prefers. I can’t wait to see him open his presents!!

Re: Sunday funday 7/29
Today we've been for a walk...and now we'll continue to be lazy, maybe even go to the pool to continue lazying.
This week...more nesting? I have no idea.

Edited to figure out how to add a spoiler.
Today, Mom and I did ice cream by science with one of my best friends and his wife. That was totally worth it.
Otherwise, very intentionally doing nothing. (Pumping every three hours makes doing nothing really easy...)
