I will bring both a newborn and 0-3m set to the hospital, because all the babies in my family are 9 lbs at 39-40 weeks. Plus MIL is 6', and my mom and I are 5'8", so we got some tall genes in the fam.  :o never know what I'll get!

My aunt makes a knitted outfit (pants, sweater, and hat) for every baby in the hopes we use it as the going home outfit. Won't see it until Sept. 8th at my shower, but will post once I have it!

  • @ladyofarlington that would be sweet!
  • @chyvie I think we have the same shower date! What’s your due date? I’m stressing a tab because I’m due 10/3 so less than a month after the shower if all goes as planned.

@rabtaido1214 I'm due the 12th. I'm stressed about it being so close but it really was the only weekend availability

  • Is a two piece outfit better than a onesie?
  • ^^^ same question. I was gonna do a onesie because it could still be 80F+ out when I'm due. Are long pants necessary??
  • It’ll depend on where you live. It’ll be cool here by October (we often have snow for Hallowe’en) so babe will definitely be in pants and long sleeves. But if it’s still warm where you are a onesie is fine, or a set with a pair of shorts.

  • We’ve done jammies with both our kids (March and December), and have one for this one but because October is still pretty warm, we may get a onesie instead. For my oldest, it was actually warmer than I thought it would be that day but we didn’t have anything else so we kept the car cold all the way home.
  • @sammierose464 footed one pieces are the easiest! But can’t help the cute two pieces for pics/going home

Both of my kids (March and October) were in short sleeve onesies and legging-ish pants. We’re also in Texas so weather is totally up in the air both times of year :D LO will be in the same thing and we’ll bring a blanket just in case.

  • Figured LO would just live in onsies and footie pj's/outfits. Do I need pants/leggings for baby? We live in the Midwest so it will eventually get cooler but Oct is normally pretty mild. Most times we don't have snow by Christmas.

I'm one of those people that dresses their newborn most days (rather than just staying in a sleeper).  Last time DDs umbilical cord kept getting kind of caught in the button sleepers though, so I'm trying to avoid that this time. I figure without the onesie there less pressure on it, but who knows.

  • +1 for a sleeper or wrap shirt. We were gifted the CUTEST monogrammed onesie for DD with matching leggings and a bow, but honestly it was not ideal trying to get her and her tiny, newborn body in it! With DS we just brought a really cute footed sleeper and it was so much easier on him and us!  Haven’t picked out an outfit for DS2 yet but it won’t be anything that has to go over his head!
  • I definitely prefer one pieces items on infants. I feel like it helps contain the poop-splosions better.
  • @missmaehurt That is the best twin announcement ever!
