@tessiesmom26 DD was born 2 days before her due date. I was fully expecting to go past, but I went into labor on my own (water broke). DS was a week before his due date.
@runningyogimama - If it's worrying you a call to the nurse line wouldn't hurt anything. More than likely it's fine and maybe you're a little dehydrated or it's because of your cold, but the doc/nurse reassuring you might be worth the peace of mind.
@tessiesmom26 - I was a scheduled c/s at 39 weeks (DS's head was measuring 15in which was accurate and I had gestational diabetes). When they checked me at 36 and 37 weeks I was 3 cm dilated. I didn't have them check me after that since I knew I was going to be a c/s, but I am a little curious if I progressed at all.
@firsttimespartanmom - drink lots and lots of water. Sounds counterintuitive, but it helps with swelling. I'm not sure what you do for work, but if you wear pants I'd wear some compression hose under them. With DS I started getting pitting edema at 20 weeks (working as a nurse doing 12 hour shifts) and the compression hose were amazing at minimizing the swelling.

@mockingjay1 So, the cramping doesn’t really worry me, but I’m pretty laid back and don’t get worried easily, so I need to be told when I should worry, if that makes sense, ha. I easily drink 90-120 oz of water a day, so dehydration just wasn’t my first thought, but since I have a cold, makes logical sense to me that it is why.
@tessiesmom26 With my first I was positive I would go late (a rarity, most FTMs think they'll go early), but I actually had my son at 35w. My second was born at 39w.
@firsttimespartanmom I second compression stockings... they worked wonders for me!
@tessiesmom26 I had my first right at 38 weeks, and my second came at 39w4d. I think it's really just random, and when the baby is ready. I just knew is go so6ber with my second, but nope. . she made me wait!
DD was born at 42 weeks and I still had to be induced. I also had my membranes swept not once, but twice. I walked, had lots of sex, drank some sort of tea my MIL recommended, pumped, ate Kraft macaroni with Worcestershire sauce (a surprising number of people believed in this one), bounced on the ball, nothing worked.
Was it here that I read someone buys up pumpkin spice creamer when it's finally in stock and freezes it? If so, how is the creamer when you thaw it out? I can never consistently find my pumpkin spice in the fall or my peppermint mocha in the winter so I want to try this but not if it wont be creamy anymore once I thaw it. Thanks in advance if this was one of you! lol
Thank you to everyone who answered my question! I'm happy to see so many different responses. I know that baby will come when they want and there is no way of knowing ahead of time, I was just trying to gauge how true the "FTM ALWAYS go late" theory was.

@mamamouse817 the pumpkin spice addict would be me! Lol. It freezes surprisingly well! Takes a few days to fully thaw, I just shake it up really well before each use, but works fine. I love the peppermint mocha as well. Maybe try one first before fully stocking up just to be sure you’re ok with it.
I have another question.. does anyone else feel their LO on mostly one side? Baby is on my right side all the time. All movement I feel is on the right.

@tessiesmom26 Yes, both my kids preferred the right side. I get a lot more RLP on that side as well. I often joke that my Ute is lopsided because of the baby.
@tessiesmom26 dd1 was on my left during that pregnancy, and all movement during the second and first half of the third trimester was on that side. bonus: i ended up with extra long stretch marks on my left, but they don’t bother me now because it’s a reminder of where dd1 was.
Third tri starts at 28 weeks, right? I'm 27 weeks today and my Bump app update told me in the same update 1) welcome to the third trimester! And 2) this is your last week in the second tri! #confused
@offtoneverland I'm confused too! Last week on the check in I said this was going to be 3rd tri (I am 27 weeks today too) but one of my apps (What to Expect) said it's the end of second tri this week, beginning of third so I'm confused lol.

I've always assumed third tri hit around 27 weeks. I think it all depends on what app you use, etc. If you look at it mathematically and divide the 40 weeks into 3 even sections, then 3rd tri would be 26 weeks 5 days. If you look at gestational period and ignore those first 2 weeks when you aren't technically pregnant, third tri would be 27 weeks 2 days. Up to you!
My stupid pregnancy journal ended 2nd trimester at 24 weeks and it makes me irrationally angry because I know we're not quite to 3rd yet. Stupid book got me excited by lying to me. Than again this is the same journal that on week one asked "I knew I was pregnant at this point: yes, definitely; nope, not a clue; or I had my suspicions."

@tessiesmom26 - I think I felt movement all over with DS, but the bulk of him was definitely on my L side. Even after he was born the L side of my tummy is still lightly bigger than the right

Why can the medical community not agree on trimesters?? Arghhhh. I'm going to ask my OB on Monday because it's so weird and I wonder why there is no scientific concensus.
