Brown Spotting at 5 weeks

Hi i am currently 5 weeks and 3 days . The last two days i have had brown stringy looking bits in my discharge . Is this anything to worry about ? I havent had intercourse or had anything internal to cause irritation.

Spotting is not uncommon during pregnancy and the fact that it was brown is usually a good indication. However unfortunately nobody here can tell you why YOU were spotting. If in doubt you should call your doctor. Good luck.

As long as you don’t experience severe cramping with the spotting, it’s probably fine. Especially if it’s brown vs red blood. When in doubt, contact your OB.

FWIW, I spotted bright red blood right around 6 weeks with two out of my four pregnancies. Those babies are now 6 and 4 years old and couldn’t be healthier

I would call your OB. Spotting can be a totally normal (yet frightening) symptom of pregnancy or it can be a sign things are not going how they should. Your OB is the only person who can tell you which.

Hey. I had the same today at 4 weeks and 5 days. Went to the doc and it turns out it could be harmless brown stringy discharge from implantation. Don't be stressed. I'm on Duphaston 10 mg 3 times daily to provide support for the pregnancy in any case. I feel better now. But she said the HCG levels have to rise, double everyday to show signs of a healthy pregnancy.
