@DunkinDecaf I try sips of DH red wine all the time because he loves it. I can't get past that dry lingering taste. It isn't refreshing and feels like it is sucking the moisture out of my mouth! LOL

H and I stopped in Martinique on our honeymoon and bought a very nice bottle of French champagne that we've been saving for a special occasion. I told H that I think celebrating the completion of our family is the perfect reason to finally crack that baby open.
All of it. I want all of it. This pregnancy has been great, definitely more challenging being pregnant with a 1 year old. But life has been a bitch. I need all of the alcohol. I've been craving red wine- I usually prefer a good cab. Pumpkin beer is also my favorite. So all of both of those. lol
My first pp drink will probably be a milkshake. I have been trying really hard to no dramatically increase my caloric intake, and, frankly, when I get done eating most nights, I’m not up for a rich dessert. So, it may not be on the foods to avoid list, but I have been pretty effectively avoiding them...
I've also had a glass of red wine every now and then. I think my first PP drink will be a sparkling rose. I love them but haven't had any desire for one on my occasional drink.
I feel like I missed out on all the yummy summery drinks so I’m craving those even though I’m usually a fall drink lover. I could use a really cold glass of savingion blanc, a mimosa, margarita, or something yummy and citrusy.
Mine will be a hard cider of some kind. I'm meeting my friend on the other side of the state in a few weeks and might have her bring my favorite cider (Cider Boys Strawberry Apple) that I can't get here.
@tropical1982 next time order it virgin! I have been drinking virgin mojitos since learning I was pregnant. I love mojitos normally and you really can't tell if it doesn't have booze in it!

DH picked up a bottle of elderberry wine when he was on a camping trip earlier this summer and we decided we'll keep that in the fridge for when we get home from the hospital. So looking forward to that glass.
Stella Rosa Black... love it lol. Sorry to you ladies who appreciate a good dry wine I love my sweet reds. Also been wanting to try angry orchard Rosé. if I want to be too crazy I’ll go for a whiskey sour.
I guess this is an UO- I only like bold red wines. The angrier the better. Anything fruity or, god forbid, white (or pink- the horror!) makes me die inside
@jengibre_zorro Every time I take even just a sip of red wine during this pregnancy, I get massive heartburn...but it hasn't stopped me from my occasional bout of luxury.
@jengibre_zorro I was planning on having wine here and there this pregnancy but the heart burn and weirdly the taste killed that idea real quick. Hoping to go back to my pre-pregnancy wine enjoyment after baby comes.
@kiwiw2628 Don't look in my fridge! All we ever have is Riesling or pink moscato. Usually both. Usually multiple bottles of both. Since Z the sugar is a lot for me, so mostly H enjoys it and I cry and drink my beer. Lol
The very first thing will be sake, but only because our delivery hospital is very near to one of our favorite sushi restaurants and I'm making H bring me sushi and sake post-delivery, lol.
Most looking forward to a great glass of cab or malbec or red zin, or really whatever I can find first. Luckily, we have a local wine festival 2 weeks before my due date...
The red wine will be closely followed by a fall beer or two during a football game!
Not that I have a plan or anything...
ETA: @chyvie, virgin mojitos have been my go-to summer pregnancy drink. So refreshing! I've been leaving out the sugar though, so it's really more seltzer with lime and mint, but whatever.
I join your UO @kiwi2628, what even is wine if it's not a bold, heavy red? Though, I will say that I enjoy the occasional glass of sauv blanc in the heat of summer.
I’m with @chyvie, @krzyriver and all of the other sweet wine drinkers. For me, the sweeter the better! I have found a few sweet reds that I love but can’t do the dry bitter reds. My go-to wine is definitely Cherry wine. Traverse City wineries make the best cherry wines!
@sliztee yes to the monty python reference...every time. also, to the wine preference.
i have had a glass of wine here and there, but my first drink other than that will definitely be a martini. straight vodka, or gin with vermouth and bitters. and green olives either way. the second is the martini that i made for my grandpa pretty much every night for the last year and a half...he died in April, at age 94, and i have not had one since i took a sip of his last one (every time, just to make sure it was perfect. )
Yas @kiwi2628 I agree! Give me all of the dark, full-bodied, spicy, dry red wines. I appreciate a good crisp pinot grigio especially if it's hot out but other than that I feel like sweet wines are just fruit juice.
I think I can drink pretty much any wine. Except for port. WTF is that shit. But yeah, whites in the summer, reds in the winter... I’m an equal opportunity drinker for sure.
@jengibre_zorro my mom had small glasses of wine with me toward the end and it have her contractions, so I have chosen to hold off on all alcohol. Too afraid of any weird reaction!
+1 for Dry, bold reds are the best. Although...nothing like a nice crisp or buttery white or a dry rose when it's hot as hell out. I smelled DH's white wine at dinner last weekend and it smelled soooo good. Never again, unless I can drink the whole damn glass.
@krzyriver You should try the Late Harvest Riesling from Chateau Chantel. That is my favorite winery and my favorite riesling! I can find it at most liquor stores around here and even some grocery stores. They also have a really great sparkling cherry.
I’m the odd one out... I don’t drink (we think I have an alcohol allergy of some sort) and because I have GD, it’ll probably be a shake from In & Out or a freckled lemonade from Red Robin
I'm going to be such a cheap drunk because I stopped drinking for a year before getting pregnant! I only had one weekend of drinking in that year and it landef me with a busted shoulder and this infection. Maybe I should just give it up!

@chyvie I was telling DH about everyone's choices and he goes "you just let me know when you're ready to go out for a drink. It'll be the cheapest date we have" I dont drink much anyways so he knows me too well lol

Also, fuck yes to the Moscow Mule @cagncoo12!!! Forgot all about those beauties.
+1 to Pumking! I love Southern Tier. I’ve been to their brewery twice!!

Also some dark beer because you know it's good for breastfeeding lol
