Re: Monday BF (7/16)

  • @nasalot188 me too. I didn't feel this way with DS and I know it's not all the pregnancy as I had started job hunting just before my BFP but stopped looking because insurance, but I'm just done.

My first bf is at The Bump...JUST WORK ALREADY!!! It doesnt matter if it's the app or the web browser, I just have problems. Either I cant log on or I get error messages that I "do not have permission" to do that. If I didn't like this group so much I would just give up.

Second, I'm not even sure who I'm mad at. I ordered something from Mercari on the 7th and the seller said she would ship the same day or the sext day. I assumed by next day she meant Monday since FedEx doesn't ship Sunday. I responded and thanked her. I got the tracking update that the labeled had been printed and that the next update would be when there was "movement". Fed ex was showing that tentatively the package would be here Saturday. No package and no update from the seller. Fedex was only showing the original update of the label being printed. I tried to cancel and the seller finally responds that she shipped it a while ago and I should have it by now and canceled my cancel request. Now I'm waiting to get ahold of fed ex...

    Sorry that got long!
  • I have two staff members fighting and I’m crazy busy today. Seriously people, grow up and do your jobs! I do not have time for your BS.
  • @chyvie I'm about to do the math for myself. Maybe that would make me feel better haha

DH got a recall on his car, apparently he cant use cruise control or it might not shut off... so we called to make an appointment with the dealership this weekend since were going down that way. Well the technicians dont work weekends so the next available day they can get home in is Wednesday 7am... the dealerships over an hour away and were already having to wake up early on Tuesday for our growth scan and my glucose test.. I told DH if he wants I'll take his car down because he needs to be able to sleep before work but he's adamant about going as of right now. I'm sure that'll change which is fine I'm just irritated that the dealership doesn't do this in weekends.. that's when most people are only able to get stuff done?! They should at least have one day they work and like Sunday Monday off or Friday Saturday. But both weekend days?!?!?
  • I watched the entire thing, @knottieamusements - and it was treasonous. I'm still in utter disbelief.
  • @jweber4747 I hate lab corp with a passion. Everytime I have gone, appointment or not, I have waited forever to be seen. And most of the people there are miserable.
  • @sammierose464 that is so sweet, thank you!
  • jweber4747 sorry it's taking so long. That makes it even worse since it's your 3hr.

@mamabearcj is that the only dealer you can take it to? There's not one closer? That is a pain that they only have week day appointments. I'm glad there's a dealer next to my work and they will drive me to work and pick me up while it's being worked on.

@mytrueloves I can totally understand. As much as i want to be off of work, bed rest would drive me crazy after a few days. Hope you feel better.
  • @sliztee - I figured I would see the commentary afterwards.  But I can’t bring myself to go to any of my news sites right now. Instead I am previewing Prime Day deals.
  • cjx95cjx95 member
@sammierose464 honestly I'm not sure, the letter we got in the mail said to call your dealership so I'm assuming we have to go to this one unfortunately. We were gonna try a dealership closer to us but they were closed yesterday as well...
  • @mamabearcj - Any dealership for that brand of vehicle can do the recall work.  (Consider the insanity of requiring someone who bought a vehicle in California and later moved to Texas to bring their vehicle back to CA for something that is a safety hazard....)
  • cjx95cjx95 member
@knottieamusements I'll have DH call the dealership closer to us then!! That definitely makes sense actually.. I feel like this is a baby brain moment, I should have thought of that lol thank you
  • edited July 2018
@mamabearcj - Not really a baby brain moment.  Dealerships try hard to get buyers to come back for the service center.  That is generally where they make most of their money.

I know there are some different rules around leased vehicles, but if you own it, take it to wherever you want (as long as it is the same make).
  • @mytrueloves sorry you are feeling stir crazy. That would drive me nuts too. Sometimes if I just walk around the block by myself I feel 100 times better. Fresh air is an amazing thing!
  • @knottieamusements I will have to watch it again in its with my husband and then tune in to Chris Hayes and Rachel Maddow tonight for more analyzing. That shit was NUTS.

All while lurking the Prime deals, of course.
  • +1 to being over work. I had my glucose test this morning and 4 hours after drinking that sugar shit, I finally feel ok enough to actually eat something. Since it's almost 2 pm now, no point of driving 30 min in to work. Plus, I'd spend like 30 minutes setting up my desk at work since moved desks for the billionth time in 5 weeks, so I am much more productive at home.
  • @mytrueloves - what the other ladies said.  Bedrest would definitely be worse than working.  I feel like have so much to get done and I know you do too, that not being able to do any of it would drive me bonkers.
  • Ugh car troubles over here too. First it was my transmission, then DH intake manifold, now his window won’t work. His car is a ‘97 Thunderbird and the AC also sucks so he really needs his windows. I amgetting tired of dealing with his car, but he loves it. Honestly, if he came home and was like, let’s get a new car, I’d be okay.
  • @mamabearcj I'm glad you were able to change! I was going to suggest it for the same reason is Knottie. I never take my car to the dealer I bought it at. (Although, the new one is bought from the dealer next to work so I will go there).

I actually prefer LabCorp to Quest. Quest is who totally screwed up my blood draws last week and caused me to have to go in and drink that stupid glucose solution two days in a row. The tech seriously thought she could override what my OB wanted because “this is the way we usually do it.” I will never again use Quest.

  • NOOOO Quest >>> lab corp. 1) lab corp has an on-again/off-again relationship with my insurance re: being in network, and I got the shit end of that stick when my insurance reset in April of this year. 2) the quest by my house opens up at 6:30 am for appts, lab corp opens at 8. 8 am is a crap time when I'm trying to fast for a blood draw AND still make it to work.

Turns out for me, my dr put the wrong code on my glucose test form today...the quest lady was like "yeah this is for a pre and post drink draw...". Thankfully we got it sorted out, as my doctor didn't intend to put a pre-drink draw on there since they watched me drink it during my appointment. I was worried for a second that I'd have to redrink that shit another day.
  • Add me to the totally over working train. It's been chaos here. That rest I got on my week off is already used up and I need another vacation. I will scream if I don't find an assistant for my dentist soon after the girl I hired didn't show up!!

@mamabearcj Glad you were able to work it out! I was going to add that I have had recall repairs done at different dealers (Jeep Grand Cherokee) and it has never mattered where I got the vehicle and mine have always been leases. In fact, I think I got a similar recall notice this weekend...

ETA: Quest and LabCorp both suck. They are for-profit labs and they often don't care about the patients. I work for the lab in a large health system and find that most patients have much better experiences in hospital labs than the for profits. Most of our metrics depend on patient satisfaction so when we are training and working with our staff this can't be emphasized enough. This *almost always* means the lab will (read: should) go above and beyond to accommodate the patients. For-profit labs don't have to meet the same expectations for metrics, reimbursements, etc. Of course, no place is perfect but I have had much better experiences in hospital/private labs than either Quest or LabCorp.

  • I always do my lab work at a hospital. I don't think I've ever considered a separate lab.
  • cjx95cjx95 member
I don't think I've ever been offered a separate lab, I dont know if there's even one near me??
  • The lab you are sent to generally depends on your doctor's office and your insurance. I know when I lived across the state from where I do now and worked for a different hospital system, my doctor there primarily used Quest. I had to request he send it to the hospital where I worked so my insurance would cover it. He was always happy to, but if I didn't remind his office staff it always got sent to Quest. Quest was then difficult to work with trying to get the bill lowered and we usually just ended up paying it because it wasn't worth the hassle.
