@brookepdavis I'm so sorry you were having a bad day. I agree with others: try to distract yourself, look at the odds of not having a mc post, etc. I've also tried to just be accepting of my anxiety. I can only do what I can on my part to ensure this pregnancy is successful and whatever will be, will be. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Thank you all for the support. I finally slept last night and I feel better this morning. And now I'm one day closer to Thursday!

Ugh, just spoke to my doctor. My first ultrasound is scheduled for 8/9 and OB appointment for 8/17. I am 6w1d today, so this waiting game is going to be impossible. They didn't seem to think a beta hcg was necessary at this point. This is the same thing that happened with my MC in January. I went in for the first ultrasound, and they only found an empty sack. So here's to freaking out for the next 3 weeks.

@southerngirlinwi Do you mean 8/8 and 8/17? Because September is way too long to wait and I would find a new doctor if they are waiting you wait that long. If it's August, that's still a long time, but more within the normal time frame. Have you asked for an earlier appointment due to previous loss? My doc said I could come in earlier this time because of my MC in April, but I chose to wait until 8 weeks for my own sanity.

Good luck with the waiting! Time to start a new project so you can keep busy!

@southerngirlinwi - oh no! I'm so sorry your office isn't being more supportive. Is there another office in the area you could switch to? I'm concerned that they don't want to see you until you're practically 12 weeks along!

@brookepdavis : Definitely meant August. I shouldn't type when frustrated. I asked for an earlier appointment, but since I've only had 1 loss, they are not concerned at this point.

@catlady2015: I am going to start hunting for a new OB, but I will probably end up waiting the time anyway. The way my insurance works is that they want the initial visit to be with your PCP and then you can switch. It's annoying.

@southerngirlinwi Ugh how frustrating, I'm sorry you're dealing with that. Do you have any way of contacting your doctor directly, through an online portal? I used that prior to my loss to basically bypass a nurse who was unhelpful, and explain directly to my doctor why I was asking for another ultrasound - she ended up ordering it for me. I felt a little shady about it since I had already tried the nurse line, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do to advocate for yourself!

Just got my first appointment scheduled for 8/6! I feel so much better knowing that I have an appointment on the books. Don't know if I can talk her into an early ultrasound for peace of mind, but we'll see! we discovered the blighted ovum at 8 weeks so I'm going to be so nervous until I see there's a baby developing on track in there!

Who else is getting betas drawn? I’m going a little cuckoo thinking about mine and comparing them to my last two losses. Mine went from 105(4w5d) to 286(5w1d) to 1075(5w4d) and they want me to come back again. I’m having a hard time staying optimistic since they seem so low and getting a 4th draw just seems like so many.

@mamakate1616 from my knowledge it seems like you’re within “acceptable” ranges. But take that with a grain of salt because I’m not a medical professional. If it makes you feel better I got my beats drawn every other day for almost 2 weeks straight. As long as your numbers are increasing it’s good news  <3

@mamakate1616 - not a health professional either, but i think the other important thing with betas is time to doubling. Yours seem to be doubling quite nicely (you have three days between draws, but they seem to be at least doubling in that time, doubling should occur between 48-72 hours). :) They might be keeping a close eye on it, bu they want to make sure they're continuing to double appropriately. I would think it's a precaution because of your prior losses. Try not to focus specifically on the numbers themselves and keep the increases and rate of increases in mind instead. I know it's difficult to not focus on, but your betas seem to be doing well!
