  • Hi all!

    1. 6 weeks tomorrow with #2!

    2. DD is 20 months, sassy and so much fun!

    3. Doing well and making progress on the potty training front. We’ve been doing art projects all afternoon:)

    4.  Biggest concern with adding another baby is sleep time. My daughter sleeps horribly, and with us still  (  my husband called it accidental cosleeping ).

    5. Watermelon, all day, everyday!
  • How far along are you? How big is baby?

    5w3d and an apple seed!

How many kids do you already have? Ages?

    2 boys DS1 is 5 and DS 2 is 3

How are your other kids doing this week?

We’re still pretty early in our summer vacation but they’re already “so bored” even with the activities we do every week. All they want to do is be glued to their iPads.

Rants/Raves? Concerns about adding another tiny human to the mix?

I’m a little worried about DS2 being jealous. He’s still nursing but it hurts so bad I’ve started weaning him. DS1 has been asking for a baby sister for like 2 years, I’m worried if it’s a baby brother he might not take it well.

GTKY: What is your favorite cookout/bbq food?

RIBS!!!! All day every day ribs!!

I also have a 5 year old and 2 year old! And it is VBS week over here too! As another PgAL mom over here, the anxiety is strong. I have a history of rough pregnancies even when baby is healthy so I am worried about how that will go.

How far along are you? How big is baby?

5 weeks today per LMP. Waiting on the ultrasound to confirm because I ovulated early (which is how I ended up pregnant). TB just informed me that LO is the size of a headphone port!

How many kids do you already have? Ages?

    One DS, 18m

How are your other kids doing this week?

Just being a typical toddler. He has more teeth coming in and he just learned to use NO in context so... it’s been fun.

Rants/Raves? Concerns about adding another tiny human to the mix?

Yes. Yes. And yes. I wish I had more time with him alone and this wasn’t our plan - but he’s going to be such an amazing big brother. He’s sweet and gentle and silly. He’ll love reading stories and helping with the baby. It melts my heart. My biggest fear now is honestly the impact on my marriage. It took over a year for us to find our new normal. I’m hoping this time will be better.

GTKY: What is your favorite cookout/bbq food? Hot dogs. Red hots or white hots. As long as it’s our local brand. I love a good potato salad too.

    ETA forgot a few words.

  • How far along are you? How big is baby? 6 weeks 1 day

How many kids do you already have? Ages? 1 and he’s just about 14 months

How are your other kids doing this week? He’s great!

Rants/Raves? Concerns about adding another tiny human to the mix? My son isn’t the best sleeper either @mamaoftwomonkeys . He also accidentally coslept with us but we finally broke him out of that habit at 11 months. If you’re looking for tips, feel free to ask

  • How far along are you? How big is baby?

    5 weeks 5 days

How many kids do you already have? Ages?

1 DD who is almost 2!!

How are your other kids doing this week?

She’s doing great, although she’s been boycotting naps the last few days.

Rants/Raves? Concerns about adding another tiny human to the mix?

Since she was 18months old we’ve been asking her if she wants a brother or sister and she always answers the same way “brother, sister, puppy!” ... how did she learn to ask for a puppy so early?!?

GTKY: What is your favorite cookout/bbq food?

    Mac and cheese!

  • How far along are you? How big is baby?

    5w1d, size of an appleseed

How many kids do you already have? Ages?

    DS is almost 19 months

How are your other kids doing this week?

He's great, been in a good mood and learning all sorts of new things. He's getting over an ear infection and I'm just hoping his ears stay clear so we can finally get his hearing tested next week.

Rants/Raves? Concerns about adding another tiny human to the mix?

Just excited right now though I'm sure the fear will kick in as we get closer.

GTKY: What is your favorite cookout/bbq food?

We've had corn on the cob the last few times we've grilled and it has been amazing.

I’ll take all the tips you have! :)@chocolatelemons
  • 6 weeks + 2. Idk how big. Six weeks big, haha. I don't really keep up with all that "as big as a pea" stuff.

I have a 1-year-old daughter. She has been CRAZY! Our schedules and life has shifted a bit, and she's been so cranky and napping horribly, although thankfully still sleeping good at night. She was a bit better today, so hopefully that's over.

I wanted my children to be close in age, and this baby was planned (they will be just over 20 months apart). But honestly, with how cranky my daughter has been, I've been having second thoughts and wondering what we were thinking! And I've been feeling pretty sick. I'm sure I'll get over that soon.

Cookout food, I like good ol' hotdogs. I like the cheddar kind with cheese in them. Also, I like bacon-wrapped corn on the cob. My H and I make kabobs a lot with chunks of meat, onion and other veggies, and whole garlic cloves. The garlic flavor is so delicious grilled!
  • 1.  6w2d; sweet pea.

    2.  Our oldest will be 14 (!) in Aug, and our youngest will be 3 in Sept.  All four of our boys have their birthdays in a six-week period!

    3.  Generally well.  Oldest is being shockingly helpful.  2nd got a little bit sunburned today during junior lifeguards.  3rd is a social butterfly and inseparable from her new friends.  #4 has energy to burn and always wants to be riding his bike.  #5 decided he wants to poop in his underwear every day this week rather than the potty (oh well, whatever). None of the kids know yet that we are pregnant.  DH wants to wait until at least 12w to tell them.

    4.  Rants: Cherry chip ice cream at thrifty (Rite Aid) was unavailable again tonight.  Grrr!  Rave: since DH worked kind of late tonight he basically just took over with the kids and let me go shopping alone.  Yes!  Concerns: None really right now.  DH is worried that our daughter will be really p*ssed when she finds out we are having another baby.  But if we left it up to her, that wouldn’t be right, either, IMO.

    5.  Favorite cookout food is...potato chips and a hot dog w/ a coke on ice?

Another cosleeper until 11 months here. The first year was rough being up every three hours. We did a 2 hour cry it out, out of desperation, after many failed attempts of sleep training. It worked for the most part. Then at a year and a half we ended up just moving her to a twin bed with bumpers so we could read, snuggle her to sleep, and leave. Best decision we’ve made on the sleeping business. And she loves her bed so much now most nights we don’t even need to cuddle her to sleep anymore. She has been waking up around 3 am for the last month which is getting old. But at least I can just go crawl into her bed with her if I need to.

@mill1020 Grocery shopping alone is my favorite thing to do now. It’s a rare occasion though.

How far along: 4 weeks today- poppyseed

Other children: DD is 2 and also a March baby. Her Bday is two days before my due date. She came early so we will see if this one follows her lead. They may end up sharing a bday!

How she’s doing: Clingy and whiny but excited!

R/R/C/Q: I’ve already realized her third bday party is going to be impossible to plan. Just thinking we will have a family party the day I come home with baby from the hospital. There’s no point in trying to get the whole family here for a party for them to only have to come right back who knows when or running the risk of going into labor on the day we planned the party.

Favortie BBQ food: My mom’s Potato salad. One of a kind and delicious!

  • 1. 6 weeks on Thursday, an orange seed

    2. 1 son who is 15 months he’s a March baby as well!

    3. He’s so fun! He is very silly (makes raspberries, does a “fishy face” on demand and really anytime he thinks he can get someone to smile, he laughs A LOT), sweet (he’s a big hugger esp loves to hug his cousins), and he is definitely learning what he likes. He’s been using No in the last month a lot more and he’s definitely letting us know what he likes/doesn’t like.

    4. Rants: DH is sick with a stomach bug ugh!  We lost our babysitter at the end of the school year. She was perfect and she (and her girls) LOVED our son he was treated like family at her house. She is going back to work and I’m so nervous about who we will find for this next school year.

Raves: We leave for vacation on Monday I can’t wait to see my sons face with all the fun things we have planned. He is so curious and social I know he’s going to love it! I just hope my nausea stays at bay.

    1. 5 weeks on Monday, an apple seed

    2. DD turned 1 on June 1.7

    3. DD is so funny and social. When we go to the grocery store, she waves and says “hi” to everyone she sees, even if they don’t see her doing it.

    4. Rants: Surprise! DH had to get something fixed on his truck. See ya, $1200!

Raves: My parents got a pool. DD and I had a blast swimming with my nephew and my stepmom yesterday

    5. Strawberry Jello Poke Cake reminds me of family summer cook-outs!

How far along are you? How big is baby?

6 weeks 3 days. Orange seed or sweetpea?

How many kids do you already have? Ages?

    DD 5.5, DD 2.5

How are your other kids doing this week?

They enjoy going out for summer activities, but they also really like to just stay home and play. Of course, with the terrible heat that just means they stay inside and tear up my house. (Right now they've gotten out all my shoes and are pretending to be princesses in high heals). I'm finding it hard to stay awake in the afternoon to play with the 5 year old while the 2 year old naps. (She takes gloriously long afternoon naps and I kind of wish I could just nap with her!) Fatigue really sets in after 2 pm. My energy from the early summer days is gone and now I'm just tired and unmotivated.

Rants/Raves? Concerns about adding another tiny human to the mix?

I'm a little nervous about jealousy coming from the will-be-3-yo when the new baby comes. I'm also not excited about potty training another kid. I hate potty training! Although, as I reminded my MIL (who kindly mentioned as much when we told them the news this weekend), it is a short time in the grand scheme of things.

GTKY: What is your favorite cookout/bbq food? Burgers, hotdogs, ribs

  • How far along are you? How big is baby?

5 weeks today! Baby's the size of a black peppercorn

How many kids do you already have? Ages?

    DD1 (W):  2.5

    DD2 (N):  10 months

How are your other kids doing this week?

We're potty training W which is . . . challenging.  My family has a history of VUR so we have to be careful about how we approach it with her, because we can't run any risk of her getting a UTI (she's already had a nasty one and a couple of other scares). Never a dull moment!  And N is starting to think she can walk.  I'm going to be SO TIRED this whole pregnancy!

Rants/Raves? Concerns about adding another tiny human to the mix?

All of my rants are work related and, sadly, confidential.  Suffice it to say work sucks right now and I'm thankful to have a pregnancy and two other tiny humans to focus my energy on!

GTKY: What is your favorite cookout/bbq food?

Grilled corn on the cob and smoked pork.

  • @dtspmama what kind of work do you do? I'm a government contractor for the Navy doing engineering work.

5 weeks today (give or take). Size of a dot snail

How many kids do you already have? Ages?

One little girl. She will be 15 months on Thursday

How are your other kids doing this week?

    Challenging. it’s her age though

Rants/Raves? Concerns about adding another tiny human to the mix?

Lots, lol  nervous I won’t love #2 as much, scared to not give E all my time, sad to be losing my 1 on 1 time with E

GTKY: What is your favorite cookout/bbq food?

    Lately it’s burgers and hotdogs

  • @Lbloom, my MIL loves to mention things like that (potty training, etc) when she feels like I am too excited or happy about having a baby.  I call it the “swoop and poop”—she swoops in and poops all over me with her negativity.  No pun intended.  Whatever.  It’s kind of sad that she’s such a baby-hater, but I’ve learned not to let her get to me.

  • How far along are you? How big is baby?

    4w4d a grain of salt

How many kids do you already have? Ages?

    I have a DD who's 2.5

How are your other kids doing this week?

Good! Aside from the occasional normal tantrum, she's being extra sweet. She has started hugging me really tight when I pick her up and says, "I love you soooo much!" THE BEST.

Rants/Raves? Concerns about adding another tiny human to the mix?

Raves: Hubs is being super sweet and bringing me breakfast in bed before he leaves for work to prevent the morning queasies ALREADY!

Rants: Crazy rollercoaster emotion town, USA ....Population ME. All the feels yall.

I think and hope DD will be a great big sister! She's so gentle and sweet with our friends babies, so here's hoping that's a good sign!

GTKY: What is your favorite cookout/bbq food?

BBQ chicken or burgers. Now I really want to BBQ!

  • How far along are you? How big is baby? 6 weeks, 2 days, sweet pea

How many kids do you already have? Ages? One daughter who will turn 5 about the same time baby arrives. Maybe even same week...

How are your other kids doing this week? DD is out of wack due to vacation last week so she is driving me nuts. Going to bed late, dragging in the morning.

Rants/Raves? Concerns about adding another tiny human to the mix? Little worried because DD has been a mama’s girl since day one. She is very clingy to me and still won’t let DH put her to bed. I know she will be a great big sister, it’s all she has talked about for 2 years now. But it will be a huge transition and she struggles with change.

GTKY: What is your favorite cookout/bbq food? I love me some bbq ribs! Now I’m hungry!

How far along are you? How big is baby?

5 weeks 4 days- opening of a straw

How many kids do you already have? Ages?

    Dd 5, DS 3

How are your other kids doing this week?

Good for once! They usually fight a lot.

Rants/Raves? Concerns about adding another tiny human to the mix?

I’m excited and surprisingly less stressed than I was going from 1 to 2 kids!

GTKY: What is your favorite cookout/bbq food

    Pasta salad, burgers and dogs!

  • @novelblessings my kids birthdays are 8 days apart! It’s fun but chaotic lol
  • @mamashark123 I was a MESS when we went from 1 to 2, too!  I'm much more calm this time around.
  • @dtspmama mine were much closer in age, so I figure that’s part of it!
  • @mamashark123 yea my girls are 19 months apart. It all happened so fast that my head is sort of still spinning! Bring on #3!!!
  • How far along are you? How big is baby? I just had my beta on Monday so I´m not sure I think 4 weeks though.

How many kids do you already have? Ages? I have a DS who is 21 months old

How are your other kids doing this week?  Super happy because my dad is in town and he loves his grandpa.

Rants/Raves?  Um...I think my belly has popped already. Is that possible?! I got my BFP on Monday and I already look pregnant. Is that what happens to STM+?? Is it just gas? I need to be able to hide this for a couple more months and I´m afraid I´m not going to be able to. Anyone else having this problem?

GTKY: What is your favorite cookout/bbq food? I love grilled corn and ribs and shrimp.

  • @Morningstar80 my belly is totally gas and bloat. It's so gassy that I get gas bubbles that feel like baby kicks, but baby is the size of a grain of sand so I doubt that. I started untucking my shirt so by the time I start looking really pregnant it won't be as obvious. I'm a little over 4 weeks too. Did they give you a due date?

  • @meggyme yes! The gas bubbles that feel like baby kicks are such a mind f.

How far along are you? How big is baby?

Almost 4 weeks, just did a home test yesterday, so still pretty early.

How many kids do you already have? Ages?

1 daughter who is 13 months.

How are your other kids doing this week?

She just figured out walking, so we've got that going for us.

Rants/Raves? Concerns about adding another tiny human to the mix?

R/R: none right now. C: Yes, I feel like someone else mentioned it taking a year to find their new normal with their partner, and with dd1 being 13 months now, that's definitely true for us, so I'm just worried it's a lot of upheaval in our marriage without much recovery time.

GTKY: What is your favorite cookout/bbq food?

All food sounds gross right now, but in my former life I loved ribs. Also my sil makes these awesome blt fries (blt hasbrowns casserole really) that I request any time she offers to bring food.

Generally good. I mean I’m just getting used to the toddler life. They are delightful yet terrifying creatures.

Rants/Raves? Concerns about adding another tiny human to the mix?

Like @mamaoftwomonkeys my little love is a horrific sleeper. And I’m already exhausted.

Also, I wasn’t planning on extended breastfeeding, but here I am breastfeeding while pregnant and not exactly sure when/how/if I should wean. It’s so helpful in calming her down when she’s nutso or not feeling well, but my nipples are already getting sore...I don’t really see myself as a tandem nurser, but I guess I’ve got 8 months to figure it out.

GTKY: What is your favorite cookout/bbq food?

I love bbqs. Hot dogs, burgers, watermelon, beer. Oh man, I already miss the beer. ;)
