Re: PGAL Check-In 7/4-7/10

  • 1. How many weeks are you? Have you passed any milestones?
4 weeks. Haven’t really passed any milestones yet, the good news is the tests are getting darker in color each day. Once I get my third set of betas I will feel somewhat better and then hearing a heartbeat will make me feel a lot better!

    2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically?
Feeling pretty good physically aside from the side effects of progesterone. Trying to stay positive mentally.

    3. Any appointment updates?
    Third beta appointment tomorrow.

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions?
    Just having a great fourth!

    5. GTKY: What’s your most memorable Independence Day celebration? (Can be for any country, not just US)
Not any one specifically, but I’ve always loved it because summer is my fav and July is my birthday month!!
  • 1. How many weeks are you? Have you passed any milestones?
5 weeks today (I think). No milestones passed but had a good quant at 15 and 17dpo and my progesterone levels are Ok at this point.
    2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically?
Great!  Just tired, but I have 6 year old twins so that's a normal state of being for me.
    3. Any appointment updates?
I just switched practices, and I have my first appointment on the 11th.
    4. Rants/Raves/Questions?
Rave: I spent 4 hours getting some sun at the pool today, swam a mile and it felt great!
    5. GTKY: What’s your most memorable Independence Day celebration? (Can be for any country, not just US)
When we lived in Huntington Beach we would walk down to the pier and watch fireworks on the beach. It was great!

@char245 - when is your birthday in July?  I agree they are the best!  Mine is the 17th. :)

  • Loading the player...
  • @BuckeyeNut05 mine is the 30th, happy birthday month to us! And six year old twins, wow! I can understand being tired!
  • 1. How many weeks are you? Have you passed any milestones?  6 weeks today. No milestones passed except CP, but that was at 4 weeks exactly so I don't count that.

    2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Overall pretty good. I'm cautiously optimistic this time.

    3. Any appointment updates?
First appointment is 7/19. The doctor said I could come earlier this time around, but last time my MC was dragged on for weeks because I was in that gray area of "it might be too early for a heartbeat or it could be a MC." I want to save myself that stress this time if possible. The waiting sucks, but I would rather go into that appointment knowing that there should be a heartbeat. I'll be 7.5-8 weeks at that time, so there should definitely be a heartbeat.

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions? How are your significant others handling this? I feel like DH pretty much ignores that I'm pregnant. I think he's just blocking it out and not getting attached in case this one doesn't stick. I'm torn between trying to bring him into it more and just letting him keep his distance from the pregnancy.

    5. GTKY: What’s your most memorable Independence Day celebration? (Can be for any country, not just US)
I don't have a specific one. I spent a lot of Independence Days at my grandparents' house watching fireworks on the lake. So all of those would probably be my favorite memories.
  • 1. How many weeks are you? Have you passed any milestones?
    - 5 W 1 D
    2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically?
    - I can't tell if I am having a mild form of morning sickness or if I am having anxiety attacks. I'm getting waves of stomach queasiness that feels like an intense case of butterflies (the kind that make you feel ill).
    3. Any appointment updates?
    - I've been too scared to call my doctor. My plan is to call her Monday and schedule the dating ultrasound then.
    4. Rants/Raves/Questions?
    - I wish I could go back to when pregnancy didn't make me feel this way. When it didn't make me question every little thing and worry like no other.
    5. GTKY: What’s your most memorable Independence Day celebration? (Can be for any country, not just US)
    - The year my dad gave me this firework you pull a string on box sides and it snaps. Well the spark got me in the stomach and I had a scare from it for years. It wasn't a firework that should have hurt you, so it was a freak accident. My dad felt really bad.

  • @brookepdavis my husband hasn't really expressed much of anything other than the understanding of my paranoia. He has missed a lot (not on purpose) with my 1st viable pregnancy and I was out of town and alone for my m/c so he is getting dragged in for all of it because I can't deal with it by myself again if something goes wrong.

@bdesterhouse I am having little twinges of nausea here and there, too. I keep wondering if it is in my head!  I puked all day every day from week 7-17 with my girls so I am reallllly hoping to not do that this time around!

    1. How many weeks are you? Have you passed any milestones?
I will be 6 weeks tomorrow. The only milestone that comes to mind is my loss child's birthday was the end of June, so that is always a hard time for me. It wasn't too bad this time. I just felt empty as usual. She would have been 7 yo. (Whoa!!)

    2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically?
Tired physically. My 2 living DD's don't let me nap like I'd like to! :) Mentally, I'm kind of blah, forgetful, distracted. But this is a hard time of year for me. This little bean gives me so much to hope for though, and I'm so glad to be PG!

    3. Any appointment updates?
Nope, not yet. I would like to go with a Midwife this time and have asked my doula friend for suggestions, but I'm not sure DH wants to go that route. He just wants me to call up my new OB. Still need to have a discussion about this.

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions?

Just a rant: I absolutely hate the family drama going on in my life right now. The issues going on with my parents and siblings are the freaking pits and it is affecting my relationship with DH in a negative way. I don't see it resolving amytime soon, either!

    5. GTKY: What’s your most memorable Independence Day celebration? (Can be for any country, not just US)

The first time my DD saw fireworks at 6 months old, was priceless. It was more interesting to watch her face and reactions rather than the fireworks.
  • 1. How many weeks are you? Have you passed any milestones? 5 weeks today. Only milestones are passed my first 2 cp lengths

    2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Exhausted and nauseous. And mentally just still cautiously optimistic.

    3. Any appointment updates?
getting my 4th beta drawn and my first sono on Sunday morning!

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions? Nope

    5. GTKY: What’s your most memorable Independence Day celebration? (Can be for any country, not just US) When I was a kid my aunt had a house in Plymouth, MA we watched fireworks over the beach from her balcony. Other than that when *TW* DS1 was 1 and we watched fireworks with my sister and his cousins in Wyoming. It’s so flat there you can see everything and their firework shows are amazing!

  • @char245 I'm on progesterone too. I can't figure out which symptom  the pregnancy is giving me and which the progesterone is giving me.

@mschanandlerbong1214 Do you count the CP from when you started bleeding? I had one in April too, but I could tell something was up before I started bleeding. No early pregnancy symptoms, pg tests were getting darker but it was taking FOREVER, then finally betas came back and weren't doubling. Fx for you.

How many weeks are you? Have you passed any milestones?
    4w2d
    2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically?
Feeling fine, but am tired. Hoping that's a pregnancy symptom and not just because I've been over-doing it
    3. Any appointment updates?
Go in on Monday AM for second set of betas
    4. Rants/Raves/Questions?
Rant: Husband left the cover off the boat and now its POURING rain.
    5. GTKY: What’s your most memorable Independence Day celebration? (Can be for any country, not just US)
A sister town does a HUGE firework show on the 3rd every year. It's usually a pain to hassle with because of all of the traffic but we figured out a few years ago that you can see them from the roof of husband's shop, so it's always nice to climb up there, away from all the crowds and enjoy a spectacular firework show.
  • @nomangos23 yeah I counted the CP from the day I started a heavy flow.

And add me to the progesterone club. I’m on the crione gel. I didn’t even think that some of my symptoms could be related to it.

I think my DH responds the same way yours does. He strugglea to get attached this early, especially due to loss history.

5w6d. Passed my chemical pregnancy mark but not my 9 week miscarriage mark.

    2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically?
Tired and boobs hurt like mad, tiny hints of nausea but not frequently. I am very nervous despite good hcg and progesterone. Usually i suffer from bad morning sickness so of course i would rather feel sick right now.

    3. Any appointment updates?
No appts until July 18th which stresses me out.

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions?
Rant: i am switching OB offices for many reasons but the one I want to go to will not even check heartbeat until 11 or 12 weeks. My current OB is doing an u/s at 7 weeks so I have to stick it out with her long enough to confirm baby is still growing properly.

    5. GTKY: What’s your most memorable Independence Day celebration? (Can be for any country, not just US)
I grew up on a lake and one house had a HUGE party every year for the 4th. It was so much fun, great fireworks, tons of people, good food, fun games, etc... As a parent that now panics me to think about, like who was making sure kids were not running into the lake and pools unsupervised?

  • 1. How many weeks are you? Have you passed any milestones?
5w5d. I've passed the point of my cp, but I also had a mc at 9 weeks, so not there yet.

    2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically?
Physically, I'm okay; sore boobs, feeling nauseous on and off, especially in the afternoon, and generally tired. Also, see below.

Mentally is different. Last night I had a some brown spotting after a bm, which has also been very faint throughout the day today. Everything I read assures me this is normal, especially because I did pilates yesterday morning, did a decent amount of walking, and went to a concert last night where I stood up for, no exaggeration, about 5 1/2 hours. But man, it's hard to keep myself from thinking the worst.

    3. Any appointment updates?
I have a lab appointment on Monday 7/9, the results of which I'll discuss with a NP on Tuesday.

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions?
I just wish PGAL brain wasn't the worst!

    5. GTKY: What’s your most memorable Independence Day celebration? (Can be for any country, not just US)
The past few years, my husband and I have gone to see the fireworks at a high school in a nearby city. We bring a little picnic and just hang out for a couple of hours before the show starts. It's very low-key and nice.
  • 1. How many weeks are you? Have you passed any milestones? 4 weeks. Not yet, my losses were 7.5 weeks, 10.5 weeks and 5 weeks.

    2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Good. So busy with life i have little time to worry. Only symptoms are breast tenderness and mild crampy feelings.

    3. Any appointment updates? No, I’m actually going about this pregnancy the complete opposite as my other 5. I am high risk for an ectopic so i can’t wait too long for a scan but so far i haven’t even called. I normally get betas, progesterone supplements (even tho neither myself or my RE ever thought it was an issue for me), a 5 and a 6 week scan and then go in every 2 weeks during the first tri until i feel more confident. I plan on calling at 5w2d, if I’m still pregnant, and call for a scan sometime during week 6 to rule out an ectopic and see a HB.  The first tri has just always been so insanely stressful for me that I’m hoping i can avoid some of that stress and just enjoy the moment and the family i have.

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions? Nope

    5. GTKY: What’s your most memorable Independence Day celebration? (Can be for any country, not just US) i guess the time, about 2-3 years ago when we were at a family reunion in OK and Grand Lake does a fantastic firework show (I’ve heard maybe the third largest in the US but I’m not sure). It was certainly the coolest I have ever seen.

  • Okay, so I just need someone to talk me down a little bit.  I'm assuming that this thread has a overall trigger warning, but just in case:  *TW*

I heard back from my doctor's office this morning and my lab results are consistent with pregnancy (yay!  I haven't been having phantom symptoms!) and that they want me to come in either late this week or early next week for an ultrasound because of my history of loss (a CP at 4w3d and a NMC at 9w2d).  I figured this would be the case because they had me come in for an ultrasound during week 7 last time.  My first ultrasound last time was not a good experience.  I was super nervous, they couldn't even get a normal blood pressure reading on me, and we found out that I was measuring a week behind and the heartbeat was very low at 75 bpm.  They had me come in the next week and growth had stopped, with a heartbeat of only 55 bpm.

So why I'm kind of freaked out is because I have a work thing all next week and there are no available appointments for the end of this week.  I was fully prepared to wait until the following week, which would be week 8, thinking that going later this time, there would be less chance of having things drag on in limbo if something wasn't right.  However, I somehow ended up agreeing to an ultrasound tomorrow morning!  I'm so nervous about going so early (I'll be 6w2d)!  Rationally, I know I should be glad that my doctor's office is very proactive in monitoring things early, but I'm not feeling super rational at the moment.

I really needed to rant about this a bit, so if you read this, thanks.  Also, if anyone has any words of reassurance, I'll take them.
  • @shadylane18 crossing all the things for a great scan tomorrow. I was crazy nervous before mine on Sunday too. Just breathe and as hard as it is, try to stay positive. Is you SO going with you? I don’t think I could do it alone. Hugs and T&Ps!!!

  • @shadylane18 I can totally relate, due to my loss history they had me come in yesterday at 4weeks 5days! They were just checking placement. I now go back next Thursday at 6weeks 1day to see a heartbeat. I’m also super nervous but just glad I get so many appointments this time. FX that everything is perfect for you tomorrow!
  • Thanks for the words of support.  It's good to know that I'm not the only one with these worries.  I'm usually a pretty laid back person, so it's a different experience to have so much anxiety!

@mschanandlerbong1214 I think my husband will probably come with me.  He came with for my first two.  I feel like we're going in with a very different mindset this time, though.

@char245 Wow, 4weeks 5 days!  I agree...I'm really trying to be grateful for even having the chance to go in now, rather than later.
  • Hi ladies! New here after spending a little time lurking on TTGAL.

    1. How many weeks are you? Have you passed any milestones?
    4 weeks, not yet.

    2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically?
physically fine besides some tiredness, although I suspect that will change in a little bit when I take my first lovenox injection.
mentally just anxious and trying not to worry too much about what could go wrong.

    3. Any appointment updates?
first one was today, not with my regular doctor and I didn’t like the one I saw today. Not a huge fan of male ObGyns in the first place but this guy was older, didn’t really ask me anything besides questioning why I was there so early, and then was obstinate about doing the beta tests and lovenox prescription (obviously my normal Dr didn’t pass on the message like she said she would!). Go back on Friday morning for another beta draw.

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions?
    TBD after this shot lol.

    5. GTKY: What’s your most memorable Independence Day celebration? (Can be for any country, not just US)
to be honest I don’t have a great memory so I’m having a hard time pinpointing an older one, but this year was pretty great. We were at the beach and had our own display plus a million of the neighbors were setting them off too, DD2 loved them and it was so fun watching with her
