It's going to be so incredibly hot I can't even imagine it this weekend and for like the first half of the week. I jokingly told MH that I would be happy to give birth Sunday in the wee hours so we could spend Monday-Wednesday in the air conditioning, lol. I don't start the library job until July 13 so I'd have enough recovery time. Just sayin'....sounds like a good idea to me! lol
Only plans this weekend are a cookout with my SIL's parents who are visiting from OH, which is today, and staying cool however possible. We may go to the lake beach and stay in the water all day on Sunday since we have no AC in the house.
@SmashJam Yesterday, the nurse joked with us about how low baby is and maybe it will be any day and my husband immediately said "Maybe he will come this weekend so we can enjoy free hospital air conditioning," LOL!
A wedding and wedding shower this weekend! I hope the activity gets things moving along. I am so excited to meet this cutie pie! All the baby pictures from the birth announcements are so adorable, it's making me feel so ready!
After a week of high 90s and 100s, we are final catching a break with 70s and 80s this weekend. But then back to the 90s all next week. Hoping my parents can deal since I’ll be in the hospital. It’s gonna be a weekend of cleaning for us but planned to hit up the farmers market early this morning. Also pre-kids i was all for holiday celebrations but now I’m the grouchy neighbor who tells them to keep it down because my toddler is trying to sleep. Not looking forward to the fireworks with bedtime at 7. Maybe I’ll keep him up a bit but also with it being so hot i like to cool off the house at night with everything open. Not sure I’ll be doing that with all the firework smells.
Eta just found out that my college had a fatal incident in the department i use to work in. Idk if the victim was a student worker (like i was) or a permanent employee (which i still know most). It’s so sad. The details are so basic right now it’s hard to follow what happened. Not to mention there is also a high school located on campus near where it happened.
@wildtot that's so sad. Also, I am with you on being a grouchy parent of a toddler terrified of the sound of fireworks at bedtime. DD is better this year I think but the past two years have been so hard for her bedtime this time of year...and she even goes to bed while it's still pretty light out!
@flockofmoosen3 hoping it’s a good year for us! I’m actually surprised they haven’t started popping them early so maybe the city is strictly enforcing.
I'm with all of you in regards to this insane hot weather this weekend and next week. I have zero plans to go out unless I have to. Most likely it will be a trip to buybuybaby with the latest coupon, but nothing else in the cards for this weekend.
Ugh plus 1 to hot weather! My H is working until 1 and I’m sitting here trying to figure out how to entertain my son without leaving the AC. Last night we saw Jurassic world and for half the movie I was having BH contractions every 5 mins. We took a walk after and they stopped, now i’m Feeling super crampy and a little concerned about low movement but not worried enough yet to go in. Maybe he’s just tired from all the activity last night.
Somehow I dragged my hugely pregnant butt to our towns fireworks last night. Let be honest, I did it for the cupcake truck... And I couldn’t have physically done it if DH wasnt off of work. DS had so much fun even though it was wayy past his bed time. So maybe we’ll get an early nap time today after all and I can Shamu my way up to my sisters FI’s pool with the boys. It’s so damn hot... Looking like 97 tomorrow
Ugh hot day for us today too. We spent all day at our lake beach and despite the fact that I made a special point to reapply sunscreen to my kids, they both got pretty burnt. . We are going back to the lake today to put my MIL’s boat in the water (a bit behind schedule this year, but whatevs, better late than never I guess) I’m hoping it’ll be fun day but anything with her ends up being less than stellar.
We have central air but somethings up with our ac so it can’t be set lower than 73 which compared 90 is pretty cool but I’d like a nice 65 right about now.
Last night I put my daughter to bed.. sometimes she will get up to grab a toy or something and then run back to her bed. Well, last night she lost her footing and fell forward into her bedrail and got a big bruise and cut across her forehead she is okay, but it looks so bad. Not to mention today is her last mommy and me swim lesson, so I am sure we will get plenty of judgy looks...
On top of all of this, my husband stayed up literally all night playing video games. At 6 am he went in to check on her (which was unnecessary... I was checking on her until midnight and she was fine). Anyway he woke her up going into her room, then tries to take her to our bed knowing full well she won't sleep... so he goes to sleep and I am stuck watching her at 6 am while he is going to sleep all day.... sorry for the rant, I am just so damn tired
Just booked an appointment in a couple hours for acupuncture. The midwife suggested it so I figured why not. I’ve heen having constant cramps all morning. Going to head to Costco with the family after the acupuncture to stock up on food and supplies. Maybe between all the cramping, the acupuncture, and walking around Costco, something will happen. Not getting my hopes up too much though. Just want to get something stirring before the induction talk in a few days. My fasting blood sugar was even higher today so I really think the MFM is gonna suggest induction on Friday. That’s 6 days away!
@cseley321 ugh I’d be pissed! I suggest making a lot of noise until he gets up.
Speaking of hit weather add me to the mix of crazy hot temps. We got discharged from the hospital Thursday night and the house felt a little hot but we didn't think much of it considering everything else going on. Yesterday it got up to about 86 in the house before we called to have it looked at. Sure enough the controller on the unit is broken, left for the night and had it fixed this morning so hoping that it cools down pretty quick in here now! Still way too happy to be stressed lol
It is raining here, so rain and heat is no bueno. I have been a bum all day and haven’t accomplished anything. My husband is on nights, so he is leaving for work in an hour. I need to find some motivation to take my little one out to do something. Sounds like some of you ladies have a jammed packed weekend.
We leave to New Orleans on Wednesday and there are thing I still need to get before the trip. But my energy level is in the tank.
@kbernal2021 i'm glad its fixed! And glad you didn't stress too much!
@zande2016 if your acupuncture works I'll splurge and do it for myself. I'm starting induction methods early I just want to go on my own darn it!
@cseley321 DH used to stay up all night playing video games also but he's thankfully gotten away from that. It used to be an almost every weekend occurence and then I'd be up all day with DS, and not be a happy camper! I hope he doesn't sleep the day away!
Went to the dump this morning to take trash and recycling and came back with two boxes of kids books someone had left there. One of the ladies always thinks of us and directs us to the good shit. DH spent all morning installing curtain rods and putting up curtains in the upstairs in hopes that it would help with the heat, its nice to thvae the project done!
Also, my bro called demanding money from me. I still have a small amount from his inheritance, and I dole it out when he needs it for good reason since he's an addict. Turns out, his wife kicked him out (woot!) and he's flipping out about it, so he called for money and said he needed it "no questions asked." I told him he doesn't get the money for walking out on his family so he can be a full time drunk and as far as I was concerned, the money is for the family he walked out on and he can take me to court over that if he wanted, and hung up. He sent a bunch of text threats and called 100 times and finally passed out (this started at 9 and he was hammered already). Good times!
Looking forward to a massive creemee and a cookout at my MIL's this afternoon in minimal clothes. DH is being weird about his body and won't sit around shirtless in his boxers while at home and i'm like, literally the only way i can survive is in a bralette and these gauze shorts i have that i should never wear in public so I'm not sure how you are still wearing clothing. Obviously, I have to put clothes on for the cookout but while we are home, nope.
@acunamatada I am loving your use of "Shamu" as a verb I definitely feel that way, too.
@cseley321 OMG, my husband was also up playing video games and watching a video game tournament for Fortnite. Finally, I just said watch this in bed so we can at least go to bed together. I'm letting him get all the gaming out of the way now because when baby comes that will not be the case!
@SmashJam I love good finds like that and can never resist children's books on the cheap.
@zande2016 Can't wait to hear if the acupuncture stirs anything up! FX!
My mom treated me to a pedicure yesterday and hair cut today. I feel spoiled! It was nice to get some pampering before a busy weekend of wedding stuff for friends. Currently sweating through the dress I plan on wearing to the wedding as I sit in the dark waiting for the AC to do its job.
@acunamatada fireworks + cupcakes + the pool sound like a fabulous weekend.
@hillbillywife so jealous of the boating, there is little in life I love more than being out on the water in a boat.
@SmashJam that's a super scary and stressful situation with your brother. I'm sorry you are dealing with that.
@wildtot I'm sorry to hear about the accident at your college, that's tragic.
We are home from spending a few hours at the water park, I'm exhausted! It's super hot out and the park was so insanely packed. We all had a good time though and I love watching DD enjoying the water. DD is now napping and I might need to join her. My H went to the barber shop to get his hair cut. He's been going there forever and knows all the guys, they talk sports, have a beer and hang out so I told him to take his time. I'm now realizing that I actually hope he's back once DD wakes up because I'm too tired to do anything fun with her.
Hello from "you're pregnant don't do anything don't lift a thing"...aka how my mom has been since she's been here! It's funny how she keeps saying she is "bored" I really think she is constantly on the move back home because I feel that today we've already done SO MUCH. She's been cooking and cleaning and basically cringing every time I pick something up from the floor! Of course I don't mind but I'm not used to "give orders" at all.
Also it's funny to always have meals at the table including lunch, when we usually just munch on whatever from wherever we are. Anyways, all good things and we are ready! Snoo bassinet arrived and it's assembled, we got quarters for laundry and did 3 loads, groceries are bought, car trunk organized, car seat caddy and stroller are ready. We just need this baby to make progress this week! Mom and I are heading to the mall while I let DH relax since he's been doing stuff all day too (of course trying to impress my mom as being a saint...I'll give him a pass...)
@SmashJam yay for a good find, I'm sad when people throw away books! Sorry about your bro asking for money...hope the cookout is fun!
@zande2016 good luck at acupuncture please report back! @cseley321 you know my husband would easily do that too but he's been too tired, lol, sorry he was up so late and woke DD up! I might place an online order at Costco because I can't bring myself to go there and I would even feel bad sending DH. @kbernal2021 I'm glad you're getting the issue fixed and that you're elated as you should be
Not fun for those dealing with the heat it's 75 outside but my room is more like 78...however with the fan it's not too bad and for now I'm only using AC when it's unbearable.
Did I mention my mom keeps saying it's cold in California...lol I guess it's 90f and humid in Italy right now
It is so hot here too ugh. also PP pooping not fun at all. Take all the stool softeners you can. Sorry for not being around more. I am definitely in survival mode at the moment so exhausted. I miss being able to nap whenever baby does but a toddler makes that pretty much impossible.
Well I am completely beyond exhausted. Went to Costco to stock up on all the things. Sucked the energy right out of me. For those who asked, so far it doesn’t feel like the acupuncture did a dam thing. I have been cramping a ton today but that was already happening before I went. We’ll see what tomorrow brings and I may go back for a second session on Thursday. It was really nice and relaxing at least.
i hope everyone survived the heat today. Where I am tomorrow is going to be worse, heat index could go up to 110. Yikes. And my in laws are coming over tomorrow. They invited themselves. Well first they asked us to go there and my H said no, zande is 9 months pregnant, she’s not going to want to travel 2 hours. So they said fine we’re coming there. Okay FYI if you invite yourself to someone’s house, especially if they’re really pregnant, at least offer to bring dinner. Nope, no such luck, so my H has to grill tomorrow in the heat because I’m not cooking for their asses. Sorry, I really am not a fan of my MIL in case you couldn’t tell lol.
I found my old posts on the TCF forums and I lost my mucus plug about 6 days before DS was born, and I was 4cm and 70% effaced at my appt the day before he was born. This Thursday is my 38 week appointment and I wonder how I'll compare.
Debating the fireworks. Do I want to go? No not really BUT I feel guilty for not letting DD get to enjoy them because I do t want to be hot and uncomfortable. Mom guilt is strong on this one.
Congratulations @moguippy and @WorkinWeezel! As of tomorrow we will also get into the actual July babies! So exciting to have a few June babies to celebrate already though
I also can't believe its JULY!!! Crazy. The camera in DS's bedroom is out and I can't tell if he's awake but the one in our room is making a BONK noise and I am hoping its not BONK-ing in his. Since DH was up til TWO AM I will be solo I imagine for awhile I'd like some time, lol. It's gonna be even hotter today and I'm thinking pool/lake to stay cool, but not sure I can drag my happy ass out there. We'll see. I have so much cleaning to do first. More on husband annoyance in spoiler.
I'm annoyed with H. He's actually been great, so I'm not losing my shit annoyed, but we have a general rule which i have been somewhat lax on until the last week or so, definitely this week, which is you must be sober enough to drive to the hospital at ALL TIMES. This is really a rule made for weekends, because he doesn't drink on weekdays. Anyway, it was hot yesterday, and we went to a cookout and he had 3 beers there within a few hours so he couldn't drive. Mostly because he ate a english muffin with PB for breakfast and then told me to stop lecturing him on food when I told him to eat lunch, so that english muffin was all that was in him for the entire day when he started drinking. He barely at dinner but I can't be that pissed he was chasing DS around all night because I was miserable and couldn't do it. Anyway, on the way home he was all like, I'm gonna stay up late and do my computer projects. I'm not drinking anymore beer, haha, don't worry. I was like hey, you should go to bed and do the projects tomorrow, DS and I will make sure to give you the time you need. By the time we got home he was so tired and agreed he was gonna go to bed. I get out from taking DS down for bed and he has a beer open. Then he doesn't come to bed til 2am! And he's snoring all night and won't roll over and just keeps swatting my arm away when I tell him to roll over so that means he's drunk. I come out this morning he drank three more beers last night, INCLUDING ONE FROM MY STASH. WTF?! You cannot drink my stash beer when you run out. He probably wasn't hammered, but he certainly wasn't driving me to the hospital and he wouldn't even wake up to roll over if I had to go in I would have had to take DS because he wasn't waking up. After all my bro's shit this is not the weekend to be drinking too much beer. Overall, he's been fab this has been one slip but I don't understand how i can say, "don't drink enough to be drunk" and you do it anyway. Like either you can't stop or you are refusing and both suck. AND its gonna be 99 degrees today and I agreed to get DS out of the house so he could do projects and I'm gonna be doing it on minimal sleep because of him. WTF.
Congrats @moguippy!! What are you gonna do with those yankee tix?? Lol
@SmashJam I’m sorry, I’d be really annoyed too. My H only really drinks socially when we’re at a party or out with friends, but in certain social situations when he does drink, he doesn’t seem to know when to stop and I have to tell him “you need to eat something and drink water”. Which of course then he thinks I’m nagging him and trying to control him so he “rebels” by drinking more. But anyway just wanted to say I can relate, and I hope as you get closer to your due date he stays sober so he can drive to the hospital. Can you maybe take your son to an indoor activity with AC today? I’ve heard the heat is going to be dangerous today!
The cat decided to be annoying this morning but not around me lol. She went near where H is sleeping and started crying for no reason (you know when cats just like to be annoying attention seekers). And all i hear is “shh” multiple times by H. Call me mean but I’m not stopping her, pay back mister! He never bothers to wake for DS, dog crying, dog scratching at her kennel, or even the loudest noise like a door slamming from an open window. I swear if someone broke in I’d be the one to save us! So cry on kitty, it’s about time his sleep got interrupted.
Happy Canada Day to all our Canadian mommies! We are headed to a parade at our historical village. Hoping to make it to the afternoon rodeo part but it's SO much walking ... We'll see how I hold out.

+1 Can't believe it's really July! So nice to get a tease from all the babies who made their June appearance and now that it's July, wooohoooooooo!
