Re: High risk check in 6/19
Question--is anyone else considering asking their doctor to get them out of work early? I feel like I'm not managing well at work with blood sugars, blood pressures, etc. Yesterday had such bad braxton hicks and blood sugars I came home at lunch. I have plenty of leave to cover the rest of pregnancy and 12 weeks after. I just wonder if it's really worth the stress or if I should just ask to be off. We are probably only about 6 weeks from delivery at this point anyway. So if after another week or so I threw in the towel it wouldn't be super early.
somewhere in the 70s with no humidity lol

@Stac928 - OMG the heat! Are you in the mid west? We got rain last night too and I'm hoping that it'll cool things down. I'll probably be working up until induction day, that's what I did last time. I don't have much leave and my company doesn't have paid maternity leave (just STD) so I'll be here as long as I can. If I had the choice though I'd go out about 2 weeks before the due date. If you're having issues with blood pressure and sugars and BH that are making it difficult to get through work I say go for it. Did things calm down with your sugars and pressure when you got home yesterday? And good luck Friday! I hope your placenta continues to move out of the way!

I forgot we also do the first NST this Friday in addition to the BPP.
@mrsbubbles-2 yes Lake Michigan that sounds wonderful!
I am in the Midwest, in Missouri. It's been miserable.
Everything did seem to get better when I was home. I'm really fortunate that even though I'm in a new position I've been with my facility for almost 8 years so I have about 15/16 weeks of leave, plus there is an executive order that we get 6 weeks of paid leave for having a baby. So altogether I have about 21 weeks to take. I also got in writing, from HR, that even though FMLA runs out after 12 weeks they will not consider any kind of action on my job until my leave is exhausted (and frankly that would be HR being a butt, all other supervision would fight them on that. My supervision chain all the way to our COO would let me take unpaid leave if I needed it).
Unfortunately at my job it's pretty stressful (I work in forensic mental health AND we are understaffed right now), but also I tend to walk a lot to various buildings and in the heat which doesn't help. Plus just managing all the finger sticks, insulin, tracking my sharps as I bring them in and out of the building (they are usually contraband)...it all adds up to some stress. And yesterday my doctor reminded me that I've been in some stage of pregnant 14 of the last 16 months between pregnancies, and postpartum following losses, etc. So my body might just be a bit worn out and my tolerance for stress may be lower than I'm used to.

I'm in Missouri too! We got no spring this year - just straight to summer and the bugs this year are out of control!

I would take a around the world cruise... is that cheating? lol I couldn't decide on just one place
@Stac928 i'm convinced that's why i've felt so exhausted this entire pregnancy... since Jan 2017 i've either been pregnant or recovering from a loss... my body is just tired ... but we're almost there!!
and this heat in arizona is killing me.... i don't wear clothes at home anymore.. sports bra and underwear... i guess that's the plus of no kids and no vistors...DH is smart enough not to question it lol

@mrsbubbles-2 no spring at all. It’s killing me! @harleyquinn0621 yes I’m pretty darn clothesless at home too. Yesterday was a tank top and underwear lol
Doctor just changed my Friday appointment. They still don’t have an in house ultrasound tech so I’m going to the hospital for the ultrasound, and they only have a 7:45 am appointment. So my OB appt moved up to 8:45. Friday is also the beginning of the surprise mini vacay for DH. So dilemma is tell him tonight about the change in appointments or just wait until Friday and tell him all at once. By the way our appointment is earlier but you’re also on vacation and won’t be going back to work until next Tuesday. I was thinking we would leave straight from the appointment. Now I’m thinking we will come home to pack up us and the dog after (she’s stayin with my parents for the weekend).

@mrsbubbles-2 he won't have anything at work, his dad has taken care of that for the most part. And since he was going to miss a good chunk of the day for the ultrasound/appointment anyway he wasn't planning on having a full work day so that helps. They frequently get done early on Fridays anyway.
I think we will just pack afterwards. No reason to rush to the hotel, we can't check in until late afternoon anyway. This way we can have a bit of a leisurely way down there and not be rushing to get the dog to my parents before the 7:45 am appointment.

NST was fine. No contractions. HB ranged from 120s to 150s. BPP 10/10. Sugars and blood pressures look great. Placenta still marginal previa. But OB wants to try to push to 37 weeks as of right now.
Oh and the new development. Baby is breech. Been head down since 20 week ultrasound but now breech. WTH baby!

Found out I'm getting my cerclage out on July 23 - so at 36 weeks. I'm so excited! I'll be spending the rest of the day in the tub that day!
We have two appointments with pediatricians this week as consultations. We met with one last week - trying to find one we really like.
Probably Spain. We were supposed to go but then I got pregnant and we had to cancel - doc didn't want us traveling that far.
@stac928 I'm so glad your surprise worked out! Hope you guys have a good time!
@harleyquinn0621 I know! It's hard to believe that in 6 weeks I'll be having a c-section! So much left to do!
