Re: Weekly Ticker Change EDD 1/15-1/21 : w/o 6/19

  • I changed the format a bit based on things said elsewhere, but definitely speak up if there are other questions you think we should include!

    EDD? 1/15, I’m 10 weeks exactly today.

Symptoms? Serious nausea finally kicked in for me last week, along with complete exhaustion. I feel like I spend my whole life right now counting down till the next time I can nap!

R/R/Q: I’m trying to decide when to tell my coworkers my news. I had originally thought next week but am wondering if I should wait until after the 12 week US just in case... I want them to know why I’m so tired all the time, though! One of them asked me what I did last weekend and I had to think really hard to come up with something other than “slept as much as I possibly could.”

Upcoming appointments? I had my first prenatal appointment with the OBGYN yesterday after graduating from the RE. Thank God I passed the one hour glucose test they had me do, that orange drink was awful! Next up is the NT scan in two weeks.

GTKY: I would love to be an expert mandolin player. I’ve dabbled in it for a few years but I’m still pretty terrible!

    Symptoms?
Heartburn started yesterday for no reason and is during the day when I'm sitting up, very tired

    R/R/Q:
I was always kind of judgmental of people who complained about feeling fat while pregnant. I'm curvy normally, but today I just feel really fat. My new maternity pants (for bloating) feel too tight and I just feel gross. I can't imagine working out since its so hot and i'm so tired. Yuck.

    Upcoming appointments?
Stopped my IVF meds on Sunday (woot woot) and was transferred to OBGYN. Saw her yesterday and DH got to see and hear heartbeat finally <3 Next appt. is 7/16.

GTKY: If you could instantly become an expert in anything, what would you choose?
Nerdy, but probably advanced statistical data modeling. I never really picked it up in grad school even though we had to use SPSS and find it super interesting. I've heard there will be lots of good paying jobs in this in the near future.
  • EDD?
    1/21/18 - 9 + 1 today
    Symptoms?

Sore boobs. General food aversions. Fatigue - I'm in bed by 8:30 every night. Its 8pm now and I'm ready to crawl under the covers even though its still light out.
    R/R/Q:
I already posted my insurance rant for this week under weekly randoms, lol. Lets see - my DH is planning a trip to Argentina some time this summer for work. That area is still under a Zika warning. CDC says if you travel there, after you return they recommend using condoms or abstaining from sex. DH argues that summer here is winter there so there will be no mosquitoes. I asked him if he would rather have the possibility of birth defects than use a condom for 4 months. He didn't appreciate the question. What are people's thoughts? (FYI I did ask today at my appointment and the nurse said they would consult with the OB and get back to me. I'll go with whatever the Dr says, just curious for peoples thoughts.)
    Upcoming appointments?
Medical history appointment was today. First physical is Monday 7/2. Next ultrasound is 7/12.
GTKY: If you could instantly become an expert in anything, what would you choose?
Human resources. My employees give me daily headaches and I never know how to deal with them.

@Rachel2066 I'm sorry, that sounds stressful. The CDC is pretty clear and there is no way I would risk it. It looks like that includes oral sex, so I'd probably say if he does need to go sorry but he isn't getting any of any kind until after the baby is born.

  • @greenhillgirl, yay for being done with the IVF meds! We just did our last PIO injection last night, and while part of me is super anxious that now something will go wrong, it is very nice to know I don’t have to get jabbed tonight!

@Rachel2066, I agree that I wouldn’t take the risk. Did your doctor get back to you about it?

And you both picked way more practical things than I did for the GTKY! But maybe once I’m an expert mandolin player I can earn a little money that way and that will make up for still only being an average librarian...
  • @Augusta108 @greenhillgirl Hopefully the trip just keep getting pushed back until its a non-issue. Its not unheard of for his international trips to get postponed by 6 months or so. If not, we he will have to deal with condoms until pregnancy is over. He will whine about it, but he wouldn't want birth defects any more than I would. The Doctor basically said to ask again when the dates for the trip are finalized and they will have an answer then. I'm guessing they will just go with what the CDC says at that point.
