2. How are you feeling?
Stressed
3. Any appointments this week?
*TW*Have an appt with the OB tomorrow to follow up with their concerns about little man's heart. They are worried he may have an arythmia or a blockage in his heart. Hoping the follow up tests will be done quickly and that everything will be okay.
4. Rants/raves/questions?
None right now.
5. GTKY: What cartoon/comic book/fiction story character do you thin you most resemble? Why? Hmmm I am going to say Belle from Beauty and the Beast because I love to read, burst into random song, and didn't always fit the mold of what people thought a woman should be back where I grew up
@rmg85 Good luck at your follow up! I know every pregnancy is different but we went through that with out now 5 year old and it did turn out to be nothing. We were sent to specialists and back and forth because they thought he had arythmia. It was terrifying. After about 2 more weeks of tests it just went away and was never heard again. Our doctor said sometimes it is just part of the development and is nothing at all to worry about. I will be thinking of you and hoping your result is similar (although I hope it doesn't take two weeks for that answer).
@bswishe4 -it is actually super reassuring to hear that your experience ended so well. My OB thinks in all likelihood all of the results will be fine but they sent me for some extra bloodwork to make sure it's nothing autoimmune (since I have psoriasis which is technically an autoimmune disorder), they are also ordering a fetal echocardiogram, and made a referral to the high risk clinic to cover all the bases. She said it could take up to 3-4 weeks all together (although I love having universal health care up here in Canada, the waits can be hard sometimes). But we heard his heart today and she said it sounded really good. Only a short episode where his heart slowed down (less than 5 seconds) which she said is actually well within normal variation. She will see me weekly until we get the all clear to help give me peace of mind which I feel is super generous of her. Although I wish we could have had the all clear today I am thankful she is being so thorough. So I guess just keep your fingers crossed for our little man.
@rmg85 Glad to hear it went well. My 5 year old was diagnosed with PACS while in the womb, I guess her heart sounded like it skipped a beat every 7 beats or so. I had to avoid chocolate and any creams that might have cocoa in them to make sure we had no caffeine in the system. After she was born the arhythmia seemed to clear. We had gone in every week for the last half of the pregnancy to monitor her heart and when she was a year old we did a follow up with the cardiologist at which point they said she just had a loud heart. Keep us posted, sounds like at least you get to see little one every week for a bit.
@hollyeva and @bswishe4 - fetal echocardiogram is scheduled for tomorrow! Thankful the process seems to be moving quickly
@hollyeva - my OB has restricted all caffeine for the time being too. No more coffee, caffeinated tea, or chocolate for this gal right now The sacrifices we make for our children I tell ya
Hey ladies - wanted to send an update on little Mr. Orin and the concerns about his heart. We had an intensely stressful day of long waiting with multiple specialists office BUT all is well that ends well because our little man and his heart were ruled to be 100% okay! Both specialists felt that it was likely technician error that led to the abnormal reading in the first place. Hugest sigh of relief and I will definitely sleep well tonight!
