Registry has a very good start to it. Just adding things as I think of or find them. Need to set up a few more at different stores so people have options. We have two cribs and I need to return one. Slowly working on getting the nursery turned into a nursery from an office for two aka junk room. Two people confirmed wanting to do showers for us and dates have been set! Birth classes are almost done... Only 3 of 12 to go. DH felt the kid move!!!! Poor guy was tired and I grabbed his hand and shoved it on the bump. He felt the movement and didn't have any excitement, it crushed me. But he was tired and well this stuff isn't always as exciting to him. Not sure if he is just freaked out about fatherhood or just so laid back and chill. He got to feel again last night and he seemed more excited and I got over my pout.
I was finally able to get in with a care provider who delivers at the hospital I chose to deliver at. I've been fighting to find someone who will take me on since 16 weeks! Besides all the organizing I've been doing (birth plan, pre-birth to do list) and prepping things that definitely don't need to be prepped this early (bassinet, changing table, carseat, cloth diapers), that is my biggest and favorite accomplishment this month. I'm so relieved to know I'll definitely be delivering where I want to be.

@knottieamusements ugh I really need to get on that! DH and I have been saying for years we need to have wills and plans made out, but we’ve been putting it off every time
AFM, totally not pregnancy related, but I made French macarons last night.. after work nonetheless!! And I think they came out pretty darn good, if I do say so myself.
@pumpkinpancake man, everyone I know is making macarons... I'm super envious of your dedication and success! I feel like mine would turn into burnt cookies.
We have had this 4th bedroom that was just a skeleton of a room just framing nothing else for 6 years! Well expecting our 4th son and we really needed a nursery and even better the room is directly across from our room! My husband finished the room last week only has one more touch up to the baseboards and we can start putting the furniture in! Yay! So excited to have a baby room directly across from our room this time! :-)
I ran/walked a 10K the first weekend of June. I will not be doing another summer run of that length, because ugh that sucked between the heat and humidity.
Baby related, managed to stay team green during our A/S. I was ready to cave, but DH kept me honest :-) I need to fix paint in the nursery now that DD is out of it, but no motivation to do it right now. I'll probably do it more toward the fall so I can have the windows open and not stink up the upstairs.
DD has been moved out of the nursery into her "Bunny Room" as she calls it. (The pictures over her bed are bunnies, and then there's the bunny string art. She's obsessed with bunnies.) Still waiting on the bedding to be completed, and I need to do something curtain/valance-wise, but she's in love.
Got a lot accomplished these last two weeks! We did our will and estate planning. We finalized our registry. We bought the crib we wanted that was out of stock on Wayfair so the minute it came back in I jumped at it even though we didn't want it until August when we move. We got all plumbing fixtures for the new house even bought a king size bed to be delivered when we move!
Love crossing things off my to do list.
Me 33 DH 41 TTC since 2016 Due: October 12, 2018 Location: Ontario, Canada
@chopchop25 it was on sale!! Not a crazy amount off but it was already a pretty cheap 4 in 1 convertible crib. It's a Navy colour so I think it's high in demand because not many navy crib option i have seen. It's the Carter's by Davinci Colby crib... it also comes in a nice green and pink color along with standard white and grey too
Me 33 DH 41 TTC since 2016 Due: October 12, 2018 Location: Ontario, Canada
We moved dd to a real bed last week and she’s been sleeping great in it - no transition issues!
And both grandmas excitedly agreed to take dd for half the week daycare closes this summer so I don’t have to use too much vacation time before my maternity leave (that I’m saving it for)!
I am so jealous of you ladies and your accomplishments!!! We’re in stall mode right now. My ILs are pretty much the best and offered to buy a new bedroom set for SD and DD as they move into a room together but everyone has been so busy that we haven’t had time to go shop together which is giving me anxiety. We’re also waiting to pick up new bedding, curtains, and decor for all the kids until DH referees a lacrosse tournament the first weekend of July since it’s a really nice chunk of money and I can just go nuts and buy everything we need all at once. In the mean time I’m using Pinterest to get my home decor fix.
I guess my accomplishment for June so far is not running away from home while DD cuts her second set of molars.
Finally got around to weeding my front garden again. it's been over a month, oops! It was a little out of hand and all of the left over daffodils and tulip stems needed to be removed. Its either been ungodly hot or raining lately. It rained on and off today but it felt kinda good.
Finally sorted through the last of the boy clothes to be sold. Some is packed for the fall sale, some posted online and a couple boxes packed for friends to get because I’m tired of trying to sell this stuff. I mean, I claim to be done, but I know it’s all super unorganized and I’m dreading getting most of it out again in August to sort winter stuff into consign, donate and sell myself piles. At least it’s almost all back in the basement.
I also have 1/2 my cousin’s baby shower gift shopping done. She’s due 3 weeks after me with a girl so I just bought 2 of the stuff I got for us at Babies R Us
I finished the trim of the nursery this morning, moved the dresser and chair into place, and now DH is putting the crib together so the nursery will be finished!
I also went to Babies R Us and picked up some stuff for my parents’ house. They are on a fixed income as my mom isn’t working and my dad is retired so I bought them a mini crib (for $48!), a Chicco stroller that’s compatible with our car seat, and a Graco bouncer & swing. I also picked up a pack of 3 receiving blankets, some fox booties, a bassinet pad to use as a changing pad for the downstairs, hospital slippers for me, and a memory foam travel neck pillow for DH and myself (so random haha). $700 worth of stuff for $250! Winning!

Since H got the baby room finished I am itching to go through clothes (I don’t have a dresser yet) once I wash them I will just fold and then I suppose they’ll sit for a while in my room until we order a dresser haha! Oh well I can’t help it I need to look at these sweet tiny clothes!!!
Got my hospital bag packed(25 weeks ) I am a notorious over thinker so I find I am at peace most when I am way ahead of time for hospital bags and nursery stuffs then the last weeks I can just chill and wait plus my close friend had an emergency and baby came at 33 weeks so I am paranoid as well! If I don’t pack then i’ll Make lists upon lists and then get stressed so it is done now, no stress!
I'm pretty proud of how much I was able to accomplish this weekend, and that I didn't want watch any tv (other than what SS had on). 4 loads of laundry, dishes, shopping at Sam's Club all done today. Now I'm trying not to feel bitter that DH did pretty much nothing this weekend.
I didn't do much except more fine tuning of the registry...but DH painted the nursery! The floor is a mess and I'm hoping no paint leaked through the plastic. Also hoping we don't have to buy new outlet plates because DH taped over them instead of just taking them off lol...sigh...but it looks good so far!
I live 50 minutes from my hospital so I did research with my local moms group to figure out my emergency plan - there are two hospitals about 25 min away so I feel like I know more about them if things go sideways. They aren’t the best for labor and delivery but enough people had good things to say that I’m feeling better.
Cleared out about 87% of the stuff we needed to from the basement, which is something I was really dreading even way before we found out we were having a baby. Feeling like this weekend was a win!
I found this nursery on pinterest and loved it (looking for fairly simple to decorate baby's area of our bedroom for the first 6 months, or however long we do that) but realized that it was that little metal plane that kind of made it for me and i was not about to go searching for one. Two days later i randomly stopped at a rummage sale and found this...for $4!
I think I've said this before, but the room we're using for a nursery was pretty much just a junk room before so we've needed to clean that out before buying anything. But in order to clean that out and move stuff, I've needed to clean and declutter the rest of the house so we have some place to move it to. I've finally gone through all the other rooms and closets so now we can really tackle the nursery. Other than that, there are some house things I want to get done beforehand (like painting the bathrooms that we bought paint for over a year ago and never did, getting new blinds for the nursery and guest bedroom, etc.) and deep cleaning things. But I feel like it's moving along.
Also, registry is pretty complete besides adding/changing/deleting every once in a while. Getting excited for the showers so I can have stuff to play with!
@chyvie Let me know what you think of that crib brand! I'm looking at a different style from that brand. From what I've seen, it has good reviews, but I'm so scared to commit!
I prepped lunch for both H and I for the whole week! Admittedly, this is a bogus accomplishment. It was supposed to be our dinner the other night and we had pizza instead. I made it yesterday so the chicken wouldn't go bad and dished it up for each of us. I'm choosing to count it as a win though! Hope he doesn't get sick of it before the end of his short work week!
@chyvie Oh crap, that's so long to wait! I'm getting impatient with ordering these things. I feel like we have a long time, but we really don't! Starting to freak out a little.
@hannaht8516@chyvie some of our baby furniture doesn't come until mid July and it's frustrating not having things in the room! My brother has graciously offered to build us baby furniture, so I chose a bookshelf, but it's hard to tell him how big until things get put in place! Plus I want to get the changing station organized and figure out the laundry hamper situation and yeah I guess nesting has hit hard haha.
@jemmerjams It's also confusing, because we're probably planning on moving within a few months (hopefully) after baby is born. So part of me hates to fully set up the nursery if baby may not even sleep in it. But this is also first baby so I'm going to want to nest and have the fun of setting everything up. And the room is so small that I hate to plan around this size if the next room may be bigger. But oh well, just going to go with the flow.
We found out last week that our rent will NOT increase when our lease is up on Sept 15. It's still at the high end of our budget, but we are leaning toward staying (I want to stay and finally have the fella leaning that way too), especially if they don't start charging us for parking, too. There are some drawbacks to staying (no A/C, windows don't allow for portable A/C units, tiny freezer, washing machine kinda sucks), but I think we can handle it for a year and then focus on moving in 2019, when we might have a better idea of what our little family wants and needs.
Anyway. So to prep for possibly staying, we decluttered some areas over the weekend and made some plans about where things will go to accommodate the nursery furniture. We moved the laundry station that's been on my side of the bed since we moved in and I'm shocked at how much room there is now for the bassinet. Fella also swept the whole apartment (we have laminate floors throughout) and washed the floor in the kitchen. It was the hottest day of the summer so far on Saturday, and it was super gross in our apartment, but we persevered.
Yesterday, I read up hard on cloth diapers & wipes and researched what to do with our washing machine. We've decided we're going to try it, once baby is big enough to fit the cloth one-size diapers. I shared the highlights with the fella, and he's on board, though he keeps joking that he's not changing any of the poopy diapers. It wasn't that funny the first time, and it's definitely not funny the 97th time, dude...
@tinattt23 I've spent so much money on baby clothes so far!! And they're all like older sized clothes so they don't grow out of the. In a week lol but I'm going crazy on baby stuff. Definitely obvious these are my first babies
Re: June Accomplishments
This is a huge one in my books, and I am so glad that I hired a lawyer to help me with it and it is done!

Still waiting to hear back on maternity leave policy but I’ve been getting some hints that are making me cautiously optimistic.
I need to add to my 401k contributions. Writing that here so I’ll be accountable and can hopefully put that in July accomplishments!
