Stabby Saturday 6/9

Surely this thread is necessary.

Re: Stabby Saturday 6/9

  • Stabby at myself.  I got up insanely early to go take maternity pictures before it got too hot and the sun got too high for decent light.  I knew two days ago that I might decide to do this, but did I check to see if my extra batteries were charged?  Nooooo....

Even worse, I decided to try the feature on my camera that connects it to my phone, which apparently eats batteries for breakfast.

Thankfully, I think I got some cute pictures and learned a new feature on my camera, but I wasn’t done yet!!!
  • I don’t know if this is because it’s my second kid or if because I’m AMA this time around, but I’m having major pelvic pain this time and I’m so so annoyed I can’t move my legs without pain.
  • @rc-cola I can't sleep in past 6:15 am either. Between the sciatica, the sun streaming in, and my old dog waking up and scratching up the floor in our bedroom, sleeping in isn't an option. I visited a friend last weekend and stayed up later than normal, and man was it rough functioning the next day, because I still woke up early.
  • I’m super stabby at Panera Bread today (and yesterday for that matter). All I wanted to eat this weekend was one of their ham and cheese egg soufflés. Yesterday we went and they were sold out, so fine I settled for a sandwich. Went to a different one today and they had a bunch of them that just came out of the oven...perfect! However when I cut in to it it wasn’t cooked all the way through. They gave me a new one but that one wasn’t cooked either...asked them to put it back in the oven so they did but it didn’t cook enough still and I really don’t want to get sick. Ended up with another sandwich today and cried when I got in the car. Ugh stupid hormones and only certain foods sounding good!

  • @spartan4life - oh, that sucks.  I’m so sorry.
  • @spartan4life I hate it when things like that happen! Seriously, people. Check your oven temps!

+1 to the early rising, especially now that it’s light so early...

My Stabby Sunday contribution: work up at 2am with food poisoning from stadium food. I even went with the pre-baked, self contained food option so I wasn’t risking all the potential ick from hotdogs, open lettuce, etc. uuuugh.

  • Stabby because apparently, if Target delivers your order on two separate days, you have to return in 2 shipments. What the hell? It's the same order! I'm trying to return 2 shirts, so I don't exactly have 2 tiny boxes laying around, nor do I want to waste one if I do. GAH. Now I will just go return in store out of principle because this whole thing is stupid.
  • Sorry got busy...coming now.

  • Initial post....
  • You know that thing when you are hungry all the time but your heartburn makes you feel ill? THAT’S STABBY. I’m miserable today and my poor Dh is handling our toddler cuz I can’t be a parent today. Which also makes me feel even worse.
  • @cdepperschmidt I just avoid those conversations like the plague! There is no convincing crazy. The fact that there are cohort studies of hundreds of thousands of kids which prove no link between vaccines and autism, and Andrew Wakefield was being paid to find reason to repudiate the MMR vaccine (so they could come up with a separate vaccine to make themselves rich) weighs pretty strongly to my mind.

  • @HoosOnFirst, I had the same thing with my last pregnancy (baby #4). My midwife never mentioned that it was due to age, but it is related to being overweight among other factors. I ended up having SPD (Symphysis pubis dysfunction). It got so bad for me I ended up using a walker the last few months of my pregnancy and couldn't walk long distances without pain. I either had my husband do the grocery shopping or I rode in a motorized cart. Physical therapy helped as well. I was warned that it's likely to reoccur in subsequent pregnancies. I've been feeling some early signs of pelvic pain this time around and pray it doesn't get worse.

Thank you for sharing. I also suspect it’s more that this is not my first pregnancy and my ligaments are all floppy :) my ob basically told me we will keep an eye on it. I’m sorry you had SPD, that’s honestly what I’m most worried about. My husband is amazing and I know we would survive but that would be so much on him. I had issues two weeks ago, they cleared up but then reappeared on Friday. I just ordered a support belt, coming tomorrow!
  • I'm going to be so happy when the come out with clear science on what causes autism. There's already some, but people still ignore it. I believe I read an article that they are finding links that prove it happens before a child is even born. Just because most autism isn't diagnosed until well after vaccines are given, doesn't mean they caused them. The tell tale signs of autism just aren't noticable in an infant.
  • So my brother and his family were suppose to come for dinner last night. We were just gonna get pizza and hang out. Well he had to reschedule for tonight because he was having car trouble last minute. This is not surprising in the least because every time we make plans something comes up.

They were suppose to be here at 6. I made chicken parm for dinner since we did pizza anyway last night. My brother text me at 430 telling me he needs to stay until 6. Ok fine no problem...until you guessed it...car trouble again. I give up...I'm just stabby and frustrated.
  • Flaky family is the worst. My dad is well known for this and he wonders why we stopped inviting him to things?
  • @sammierose464 I believe I’ve read that too. A lot of people say that the signs of autism show up around 2, which makes sense because of the social emotional changes that happen at that age.

@mamabearcj Admittedly I had no idea what I was getting myself into and everytime I tried i end it he came back like the plague. I ended up gif-ing out and then his baby mama started spewing non sense. Another guy from
high school PM’d me and was basically like hey just FWI he’s a little too deep into conspiracy theories and there might be some
    mental health issues.
  • yara shahidi agree GIF

    Love that, @krzyriver!!!!
  • @krzyriver We say that all the time! People get so offended and pissed off when we do too! I don't get it... Like my kids (especially DS) have an insanely high familial/genetic predisposition for it (most all the boys in my family are on spectrum, my sister is and I have what they affectionately titled autistic tendancies due to genetic predisposition. Which I think means I show enough of the linked signs with the rest of my family,  but they can't fit me in a labeled box of exact diagnosis. So they made that one!) I just can't with the non-vax logic.

@HoosOnFirst OB said it's usually a 2nd+ time mom thing. I told him that was crap since our muscles/ligaments should do better since they been there done that :joy: He giggled and said sorry kiddo! Not how it usually works. I had the sads lol but my little sister (who is due the same week as me. Have I talked about that yet?) and I both noticed is much more painful and harder to be comfy this time.
  • @krzyriver I completely agree and have said that myself!
  • So just as an update to that Facebook convo in vaccines. I stopped responding yesterday, but a few other people stepped in and today baby mama said, that after listening to Andrew Wakefield speak she doesn’t believe that his research is what they say it is. This chick literally drinks the kool-aid I guess.
