Hi everyone!
I was officially diagnosed with PCOS in March 2013. Married June 2015 and immediately were TTC. 3 years it has been, 2 years medicated. Started Clomid and would do timed intercourse. When it wasn't working, more tests and an HSG was scheduled. OBGyn could not even fit the catheter with the dye through (she stated that was the first time that has ever happened to her and she's been practicing over 10 years   )and didn't want to cause me more pain so a lap surgery was scheduled to get it complete in May 2017. HSG was done while I was put under and thank you Lord, my tubes were fine! She found mild endo and "burned" it off (such a weird term to me!) and then finally moved to Clomid/trigger shot/IUI in September of 2017 and unfortunately both had failed through my OBGyn. Started with new RE in October and went through the testing which lasted MONTHS. He stated he wanted to try Letrozole (Femara) and see if my follies develop any better than on Clomid and try another IUI in March. I was finally ready to take on this new journey and the follicle scan came..what do you know, I had a small cyst so that cycle was done and there I was..put on birth control. It has been 3 months and it has yet to go away. At the appt last month, he stated we can do a quick cyst aspiration or surgery. I scheduled a cyst aspiration since it was a simple and quick procedure (still sounds unpleasant though! ) and immediately changed my mind when talking with my DH and some coworkers (who are on the same boat as me with infertility). I decided to go through with the lap surgery to 1. completely remove my cyst and 2. check on my endo and get it removed if need be. My RE flat out said surgery isn't pleasant but it'll increase my pregnancy chances. Been there, done the surgery in May last year so I was totally fine with it and knew what to expect. What got me wanting to do it is increasing my pregnancy chances! I know I would totally regret not doing the lap surgery if I went into my 3rd IUI and it failed. I'd sit there thinking, "well what if I did the surgery?"

Sorry for the book, but it's so nice to find a forum where everyone is so supportive and understanding. I've learned so much already! Infertility is the most trying thing I've been through my 28 years of life. So many ups and downs.  So with all the being said, I've seen a lot of people on Clomid but am curious if anyone has had success with Femara?

Hi @melcab7, sorry you find yourself here - I hope your stay is short It sounds like you've already been through quite a lot already. I know the thoughts of surgery is daunting, but you're right - if it'll increase your chances than it'll be worth it. I had absolutely no response to Clomid but I did respond better to Letrozole (by that I mean I grew follicles - although it never resulted in a bfp for me). Hopefully this will be the solution for you. Best of luck xx

Thanks for the input @roisis ! I wouldn't say I had great follies with Clomid but my RE stated that I did respond to it at least, but he just wants to see if Letrozole will do any better. I'm looking forward to starting something new because this whole process has been daunting. Congratulations on your BFP!!

Thank you I know what you mean about it being daunting, this process really does push you to your limits. Just take it one step at a time. One thing I might mention - without meaning to put you off - watch out for mood swings on Letrozole. I found it very frustrating - but I really only noticed how bad it was once I came off it. It's not life-changing - but if you don't feel 'yourself' it could just be down to that! GL

@roisis Thank you for informing me of that! I feel like my moods are everywhere already, so hopefully it is manageable!
