GTKY- what was the last thing you bought for baby?

I cannot stop buying things for the boys now that they Are here. We never used pacifiers with ds1 but being in the nicu the twins have been using them. I bought cute paci clips for them, and some teethers. a unicorn one for a boy?! Yes please! I can tell the boys apart but I’m thinking in pictures the different clips I got will make it easy to identify which baby is who too. One of the cute clips below:

I haven't bought anything for this baby. I have so many hand me downs!! I do technically have an Honest Co diaper delivery for the end of June, and a little list of things in the amazon cart, but we don't need anything so I haven't purchased!

Diapers! Haha. It was the last thing we neeeded and it was really bugging me so after I took my son to the playground yesterday we stopped at target and got a big box of newborn diapers for the baby, a 99 cent bottle of bubbles for my son, and a new water bottle for momma. We spent way too much money on baby 2, I totally didn’t realize how much we’d need to buy. Some things were unnecessary, like a couple cute new outfits and new crib sheets/changing pad covers that matched the nursery (since everything we have from my son’s nursery is owl themed, and the new nursery is Pooh themed), but we also needed a new monitor, double stroller, crib, rocker, etc.

I have a lot of stuff left to buy (refill) for myself but not much for baby. Our neighborhood is having their second garage sale weekend so i have been buying used stuff of what we are missing (like clothes).

I went to carters for a polo for pictures for DS1 and bought a bunch of onesies and some sleep gowns for LO. I couldn’t resist!

Just cutesy girly outfits because she’ll have plenty of her brothers unisex hand me downs. I even kept a few of his dinosaur onesies for her because I think DS will get a kick out of her wearing them. He also got to pick out a small toy to give her. Besides that, I’m not stocking up on diapers until I know how big she’ll be. We’ve got a couple packages of nb and size 1, and we’ll amazon the rest!  
The only big purchases I made for this LO was a new swing and an arms reach cosleeper.

Most of her stuff now is handmedowns.. I am going to my "sprinkle" today, so after that I will see what else I need. I am planning to get an ubbi diaper pail, but that's the last thing I need for the nursery

The last east thing I bought for baby was butt cream lol.. but before that I got a bunch of things from amazon like a new boppy cover, a changing pad, some washcloths  and a bunch of sample size baby soaps.

Can I just summarize with "too much"? We got some money from my aunt and we saved half and I totally blew the other half on a first Amazon order for all those things sitting in our cart. Got some baby nail clippers and some sheets for the Uppababy bassinet.

Also another outfit at Target even though I complain of too many clothes because it was 4 DOLLARS. LOL

Ummm a humidifier and new boppy..and that’s about it..Not near enough! We’re having another boy so I thought oh we’re fine, we have everything, but I recently realized how much we still need. We now live in a house vs small city apartment, DS1 newborn clothes are out of season and climate for this baby...still a ton left to get!

I just bought baby something for the first time today! Hair bows! I am using the clothing I saved from DS,and I figure if I stick a bow on DD, the clothing will look less masculine. I am now going to google Little Poppy Bow subscription!

I had to fit 3 months worth of clothing for me and DD into one suitcase when we went from Nova Scotia to Michigan last week, and I only packed the gender-neutral hand me down  clothes for baby (team green). So I had to do a ton of shopping this week to make sure we are ready for baby. 

I bought a bouncy chair, baby bath, play mat, breastpump and all things breastfeeding, plus a booster seat for DD so that we can use the car seat we brought with us for baby. 

I’m so happy someone mentioned newborn diapers though! I totally spaced. I’m gonna need to go back to the store lol.

@chaser61 bows won't make a difference haha! DS wears decidedly boy clothes all the time and he gets called a girl by strangers like every day. People can't seem to pick up on obvious cues, let alone trying to convince them you have a daughter when she's not wearing a pink dress.

@flockofmoosen3 I think DS looks pretty boyish, and people call him a girl really to spite me because of his hair. I swear strangers say, "she" just to be a dick thinking I'll get all embarassed and run out and cut his hair immediately so as not to put him through the embarrassment of blurring gender lines with *gasp* long hair on a boy.

@SmashJam I just cut DS’s long hair for the first time but left it longer with curls. He wears blue everyday but still gets called a girl. I love his hair so I laugh and say I think he’s pretty too when people say that lol @cseley321 we love our ubbi, I bet you will too!

The most recent thing I've bought is a plain onesie that I will spend this afternoon trying to put a design on with my Cricut.  Hopefully it turns out okay.

I just ordered a car seat canopy. I really wanted a stretchy one that goes over the car seat because last time I had the one that you velcro to the handle and drape down and it would fly all over if there was a breeze. The one I got is super cheap so I'm not sure how it will compare to the ones I saw at Buy Buy Baby that were more than 3x the price. We shall see.

Last: diapers, wipes, baby wash, lotion, Vaseline, but in general, TOO MUCH considering this is number 3. We had our last almost 6 years ago. We moved from Texas to Ohio when she was 2.5, so we’re like first time parents. We did luck out with some hand me downs and babies r us going out of business sales

And yesterday I placed my last Amazon order of reusable breast pads, natursutten pacifier and paci clip from Madeline's box.  Oh, and my Solly Baby wrap is arriving today.  We are officially ready for baby!

Question on the car seat canopy, is it needed? I am afraid it will make the LO hot? Clearly I don't know what I am talking about...

I have been good surprisingly. No new purchases this week! We got the hatch baby light and a few other gifts this week so I was pretty stoked. My mom is bringing 3 gifts when she comes next week and I expect them to all be clothes.

I got a Halo sleep sack last week too. Last thing to do is to order the Snoo (we are getting one from my DH's company) but I am waiting until next week since it only takes 2-3 days to arrive. getting excited!

@kissableviv I loved the carseat canopy for winter. I would get a cotton one for summer though the fleece ones get a little too warm in my opinon

@kissableviv the carseat canopy like @runsomewhere posted also is a nursing cover and a shopping cart/high chair cover. We have one and it's very lightweight so I don't see DD getting hot in it, but also plan to put it over the seat to avoid public stranger hands from feeling the need to touch the baby always. So while I wouldn't say its "needed" I would say it's super convenient in many ways.

@kissableviv to me the car seat canopy was a must. It keeps the sun off baby and keeps busy bodies away. I also felt like it gave DD some privacy and a break from all the busy surroundings lol.

Now that I'm on leave not buying stuff is really a struggle. Yesterday I bought really cute wall mountable candle holders for the baby's room  and the day before that a set of bath products and some swaddles. I need to stop.

Does anyone have a car seat canopy brand they love? There are a ton of brands and I hear some aren’t as good. Or do you ladies like actual car seat canopy brand?  I had a friend who said she didn’t love that brand.

I don't love the actual carseat canopy brand. i have one just because I got it cheap. I really like the stretchy ones. I have seen one of those style at target and several different ones on amazong but don't have one myself. 

I do love our jj cole bundle me for winter though

@moguippy we didn't have one with DS so all I can speak for is the one we have ready to go for DD. It's the stretchy one and we were gifted it off of our amazon registry. So far I'm loving everything about it and baby isn't even here yet, everyone I know with the same style has loved theirs and either bought or were gifted it from various different retailers so nothing brand specific, more so just style specific. I will say the friends I know that have had the blanket style canopies that button on top were not fans of them at all.

I worry about the stretchy ones not having enough air flow. With the flappy ones the wind can blow up under them which isn’t awesome when it’s chilly but when it’s augusr and super hot and humid being trapped inside one sounds miserable.
