Last year my mom taught me how to sew! I really fell in love with it, although I haven’t touched my sewing machine since becoming pregnant due to a lack of energy and motivation. When I am motivated, I love making skirts/dresses/leggings for my DD and little quilts/blankets. Some pictures of a few things I’ve made in the spoiler.
Toddler quilt for my DD
Mickey/Minnie tunic for a Disney World trip
Princess dress for a Disney world trip
Bunny ear hoodie
Quilt for my niece. She picked out the colors/fabric and I sewed it for her.
@pink_polkadots all of that is truly spectacular! i want to say that i especially love the backless dresses, but those quilts are awesome, too! i’d like that minky backed one in adult size!
i am proficient at not yelling too much at the sewing machine now, and i love to bake. dh & i also really get into halloween.
quilt and baked goodies:
^ the first and only quilt i’ve made, for dd’s 3rd birthday. the colorful panels are from her original baby blanket.
^ dh and i have a tradition of baking and decorating a yule log cake for xmas; this is last year’s. ^ the last bread i made, before my ms days. braided sweet bread with chopped fruits and nuts.
halloween 2017 pics:
^ dd and me as mummy and evie from 90s the mummy. i made her costume. mine is pieced from random store finds.
^ our mummy tomb scene set up inside the garage. most everything was upcycled from stuff found around the house.
@highsteaks oh not yelling is a hobby I need to practice. Minky is not my friend, that’s for sure. Also. You’re not allowed to post your baking pictures unless you ship me a sample. Kthx. (Kidding) I’ve only made the two quilts seen above so far, so I’m still learning that trade. I’d love make something more intricate like yours one day! I plan on making a memory quilt out of some of my DD’s baby clothes. One day. When I’m not so freaking tired.
@lachnessmomster thank you! It was definitely the most complicated thing I’ve made so far and I was so proud of how it turned out!
I am not near as talented as many, but I do enjoy making things with my silhouette. I posted a few projects from the last 6 months. I also enjoy photography (although editing isn't always my favorite) so I added a few pics I've taken recently too. I blacked out faces since the whole wide world can see them on the bump.
Christmas Eve box
Dinosaur birthday party banner & shirts (mommysaurus, daddysaurus, nanasaurus, papasaurus)
Easy Valentine's Day cards for DS's class
Used my silhouette to cut "love" out and used as a stencil - used DS's fingerprints for the light (canvas was a Christmas gift for grandparents)
Used silhouette to make stencil and painted sign and used it to cut out words on shirts (in big sisters handwriting) for my dear friend who had her second IVF miracle
Last minute Valentine's day shirt for DS
A few pictures I've taken (technically DH took the last one once I set it up and I edited it)

@mockingjay1 your silhouette creations are beautiful! I have a Cricut but I lack the creativity to come up with cute stuff like that unless I see it already done on Pinterest and I’m so jealous of your photography skills. I tried to dabble in it but wasn’t motivated enough to learn all the editing tricks. Your pictures are precious.
@pink_polkadots - thanks! I am pretty sure almost all my ideas are inspired from pinterest or craft groups on facebook. I did come up with the big sister/little brother handwriting shirts on my own which I was proud of. My friend cried when she opened them (I had her husband get their DD to write it on paper and send it to me without her knowing). I plan to do the same with this baby and DS. I have been in the process of making DS a night you were born sign with htv and canvas so maybe after I get done editing my besties pics I will have enough energy to finally do that!

@marfi236 oh I love cozy knitted/crocheted things! The hats.. is that a hobby that requires a lot of patience because of the time it takes to make something?
Beautiful items @pink_polkadots! I sew as well. Mostly skirts and dresses. Posted some items in the spoiler. Sorry they are so large. I hope to get some maternity sewing this weekend.
@Amber1174 oh my gosh! Stunning! I love the polka dots one You are so talented. I’ve never made clothes for myself, but it’s something I’d like to try in the future!
@pink_polkadots Those are amazing!! I’m not at all crafty/don’t have the patience for sewing or any kind of crafts. They stress me out!
My hobby is running? Which I can’t even do right now because of SI joint paint. I’m not super fast or awesome or anything, though, it’s just what I enjoy doing for fun.
Seriously feeling inadequate scrolling through these - I am so impressed by everyone’s talent and creativity!! Not sure I have a real hobby that doesn’t involve watching tv so I’m going to vicariously live though you all.
@Amber1174 those are absolutely beautiful! I love the rainbow skirt!
I do a lot of different crafts but don't focus on any in particular. Cross stitching, sewing, knitting, crocheting, etc. I'll have to find some photos to post later

@runningyogimama I was thinking the same thing as I read through these. Ummm...I run 5Ks and lift heavy things (not as much since the pregnancy) but I’m not crafty at all. Lol
Wow, you guys are amazing! I have a silhouette, but havent had a chance to play with it. I've made some wreaths and canvas crafts. I will post the very simple wreath I made my mom before she died. I made the flowers out of coffee filters.
I'm hoping to get back into crafting now that ds can play more independently.
@pink_polkadots Are you kidding me? Those are freaking gorgeous dresses! You are so talented. @highsteaks That yule log cake is fantastic. I can't believe you made it! It looks professional. @Amber1174 Holy wow! Those skirts are beautiful. Is that you in the photos? You're stunning! Everyone here is so talented! Running and eating definitely count as hobbies too.
I enjoy paper crafting, mostly scrapbooking and sometimes cards when I'm in the mood. Since all my scrapbooking stuff has photos, I can't share those. But one of the non-paper crafts I'm the most proud of is the headboard I made a few years ago! It was so fun to make and I'm going to make one for DD's new bed when she moves to a twin in the next few months. In spoiler.
@runningyogimama I was thinking the same thing as I read through these. Ummm...I run 5Ks and lift heavy things (not as much since the pregnancy) but I’m not crafty at all. Lol
Those are amazing hobbies! I’m so not an exercise for enjoyment person. And if I’m running then I’m probably being chased by zombies or something so you better run too. So I totally think your running and lifting hobbies are amazing and highly commendable! You go girls.
@offtoneverland I always loved the idea of scrapbooking but I never committed to it. I have a few aunts who were crazy good at it. They’d always have scrapbooking parties. I was never as creative with it as them. I think all the possibilities with the cute paper and stickers and such just overwhelmed me too much.
Also how did you make the headboard?
@eahayes I wish I had the patience to hand sew but I take the easy way out and use my sewing machine.
I bake. Well, I use to bake. I tore my right rotator cuff, then I had DD, so I haven’t baked like this in a while, but I’d love to get back into when my babies are a little older.
Good gracious, y’all are talented! @pink_polkadots I would have paid good money for those dresses this week (just left Disney). They are beautiful!
@amber1174 gorgeous! The colors are so beautiful. @copperboom86 your cakes are beautiful! What an amazing talent to have.
I don’t really have a hobby that yields anything beautiful. I guess it used to be baking pies and mini pies, but I am a little over that now. Running is my main hobby. I’m pretty slow these days, but still trying.
You are all absolutely amazing!!! I was really into scrapbooking but as mentioned above there are way too many pictures in it to show it off. When DH and I lived in a townhouse with his sister and her Boyfriend, I had to downsize and had to get rid of a lot of my supplies. Now that we have our own house I am slowly getting supplies again so I can get back into it.
My lazy version of scrapbooking are photobooks .I put one together for every trip we take (except for Maui trips cause I am usually there to baby sit my sister's kids for the day).
My other hobby is running group. I am in the super slow group with the walkers now but hey, how many people do you know that have walked a marathon? (It took 11.5hrs by the way)
I'm just over here in aw of you all! So many talented people we have here!!
I coached youth cheer for 7 years, so that took up all of my time. I stopped last year to plan my wedding and now I am preparing for baby, so who knows what sort of hobby I will pick up after baby gets here!

@wannaflickone how was your Disney trip? Land or World? I’m going in September to DW and I’m so nervous/excited. Nervous because of being 30 something weeks pregnant and because it’s gonna be hot hot hot.
@kamahina9 I’d be one of the people in that slow walkers group actually I’d be the person sitting in a chair waiting at the finish line.
Thanks ladies. I started sewing out of necessity. My youngest daughter is tall and wasn't as slim as my other daughters when she was younger. It was so hard to find church/social outing appropriate clothes. Everything was tight and short. I remember her going into the dressing room to try on a outfit and coming out in tears. She was so defeated and frustrated. I went to youtube and I've been sewing every since.
@offtoneverland yes that's me and thanks! @tessiesmom26 I coached cheer when my girls were in cheer. They needed a coach at the last minute, so I jumped in. We're having a boy, so I won't be revisiting that chapter of my life!
I count anything you do on the regular....eating, netflix, running, scrapbooking, eating, eating, and eating...great talents! I don't consider myself a creative person at all, but if I see it, I can replicate it and maybe put a small twist on it.
you guys are so talented! I try to be crafty, but I often get frustrated with lack of time and space. @pink_polkadots I love that princess fabric! I made a boppy cover out of it when I was pregnant with my dd.
@CopperBoom86 Those cakes are beautiful. You are so talented! @pink_polkadots Yeah, there are way too many cute papers and stickers for scrapbooking, so I understand that. I try to keep it pretty simple. Some people go WAY overboard with the stickers and things. I made the headboard with a staple gun! I got a sheet of particle board from Lowe's, then glued a thick piece of foam to it. I covered that in fabric batting and stapled it in place, then covered the whole thing in duck canvas fabric (the fabric shown in the pic), and stapled it in place. It was so easy and really fun!
Lots of very talented ladies on here! I to enjoy crafting and sewing but haven't taken the time or don't have it to do much lately. I have a Silhouette that I am still learning and a sweet embroidery/sewing machine my DH got me as a gift a few years back. I also enjoy decorating cakes but only amateur stuff. These pics will be huge because I haven't taken the time to learn the spoiler button, sorry. I enjoy sewing for other people and prefer to make baby clothes. I have made a couple dresses for myself but its been years. I have a hard time leaving a project unfinished to complete later which is the only way to get anything done now so I need to get over that!
