@mother_of_cats your daughter does indeed sound like a strong fighter, and from reading your words, it’s easy to see where she gets it from. i’m in awe of how you are handling everything. i will be thinking positive thoughts for your little one to keep growing to term and overcome all challenges in the future.
@mother_of_cats I teared up reading your words, partly because of the dx, but also because I'm in awe. You are an amazing mama. No wonder your baby girl has made it this far, she gets that strength from you. I will be praying for you and your SO. I will be praying that your sweet girl makes to term and keeps surpassing the odds. Please keep us updated on you and how she's doing, and lean on us for support. ((Hugs)), mama.
@mother_of_cats I'm glad that you got some definitive answers about what is going on with your baby girl. I'm sorry the news isn't better. I'll be praying for you and your little one. I hope you take the time to process this and have all the love and support you need. I know it will be impossible not to worry, but I hope you can find some peace to help you get through the next few months.
@mother_of_cats so glad you now have a diagnosis, albeit not one you necessarily wanted to hear. It sounds like your little girl is already defying the odds, and I have hope that she will continue to do so. Thinking of and praying for you until your next update.
@mother_of_cats I'm glad you've got answers now, but I'm so sorry the news isn't better. You seem to be handling this with amazing strength and grace, though. Your little girl is lucky to have a mother like you and it sounds like she's strong like you are.
I'm rooting for both of you and praying that things will turn out as well as they can under the circumstances.
@mother_of_cats - I'm glad you got an answer. I hope your sweet baby girl keeps defying the odds. It sounds like you have a wonderful outlook. I'll be thinking about you and your SO.

@mother_of_cats From reading your words, it is so obvious how incredibly strong you are. I will continue to pray that your baby girl continues to defy the odds and for your emotional and physical health. Thinking of you as you continue to process the diagnosis and am hopeful that she will continue to fight.
@mother_of_cats As everyone has already mentioned, I am in awe of how incredibly strong and positive you are! Pregnancy is an incredibly emotional thing to go through and women like you inspire me to be strong and believe in myself. I will be thinking of you and your sweet baby girl. You are two strong women! Tons of love and hugs.
@mother_of_cats You are so amazing to be handling all of this news so well. I am glad that you feel at peace with the diagnosis. I am thinking of your family and hoping your baby girl continues to beat the odds.
@mother_of_cats girl no words just sending you strength. You have an amazing outlook and I can only hope to have the same strength as you do if I were to face what you are. *hugs* and all the love to your little fighter
So I just got home from my 16w appt we're 16w5d today. Got doubly stabbed. Once for NIPT testing, decided we WILL find out gender and just not share with family/"publically". And then also for the spinal cord testing stuff... Guess they check for markers for spina bifida and such?? No U/S today which made me a little sad not to see LO. But listened to HB! And LO was a wiggler and kept moving to make it difficult HB was 145 which is down from 167 in the past. And I've officially lost 12lbs since getting KU. LMAO. Also got my anatomy scan scheduled for 7/5 which is my big sisters birthday ironically.

16 week apt was yesterday and my mom happens to be in town. She lives 6 hours away and I know the distance has been hard for her. Dr let her hold the doppler and she was over the moon. Fhr was 157-161 so on the high end of normal. I've gained 7 lbs and apparently that's above what it should be already it's all belly and boobs but now I'm stressing about gaining too much.
@ftm_jen Huh? Did the OB really say 7 pounds was too much? I don't see how there could be anything wrong with that gain at all 4 months into a pregnancy. I know it's hard, but try not to stress about it... As long as you aren't eating crap food 24 hours a day, you will be just fine. Your body seems to figure out what to do on its own regarding weight gain, no matter what you eat or how much you exercise. I'm sorry they made you stress about your weight. OBs can be such jerks about it.
@offtoneverland I was surprised too. She said as long as I'm not eating cake all day it's fine but it's above the max I should be at. Ironically a friend goes to the same office, gained 80 lbs during her pregnancy and they never said a word to her! I just need to be more diligent on walking and gym time. Hopefully the stress of it fades. I felt so guilty getting ice cream with my parents and sibkisib yesterday after a family dinner.
@ftm_jen Girl, enjoy that ice cream! Sometimes we all just need a little ice cream. That is crazy they never said anything to your friend about her weight gain, but they don't like your 7lb gain. Geez!
@ftm_jen that’s crazy. Don’t let them bother you with weight nonsense. 7 lbs is perfectly fine. One way I think about it is if you were to gain a pound a week for the rest of your pregnancy, you would be at at 31 lb gain total. That’s fantastic. Two pounds a week would still be well under what your friend gained.
I got my Quad screen results back and everything came back normal.
I'm already stressing about weight too because I've gained 2-3 lbs each week since week 14. Luckily I lost 6 lbs in the first trimester, so I'm only 1 lb over my pre-pregnancy weight now.
@susan112118 yey for the good results!! Have you thought about logging food intake for a couple days? Then you can see if you're eating what baby needs or giving in to each craving. I definitely wouldn't stress at being 1 lb up at all! You are doing great!
@ftm_jen - Yes, I did do it for a couple days last week. I think I have to do it consistently to shame myself into making better choices. I've definitely given into a lot of my sweet cravings.
