13 weeks 2 days! EDD 12/1

How are you feeling?
Great! Not many symptoms right now, other than gas . 

Any recent/upcoming appointments?
Nothing until June 8th.

Thoughts/Concerns?
Super excited to be moving on the the 2nd trimester this week!!!! So, that means this will be last update post in this thread and we'll need someone to take of the 1st tri thread next week! Also, I'm pretty sure I officially have a bump! It's not very pronounced, but it's definitely there all the time and I love it!

Questions:

GTKY: Have you given any thought to names yet? What are your ideas?
We have both of our names picked out - we pretty much decided on them years ago when we started the IF journey. Our girls name is Madelyn Suzanne, after me and DH's grandmother. Our boys name is Derek John after my father. I'm really (really) hoping for a girl, but I'd love a little boy too!

How are you feeling?
GD is kicking my butt. The only way I can keep my numbers not too high is to go for an exercise immediately after a meal (walking, climbing stairs). Not to mention, I’m hungry all the time.

Nothing this week 

Thoughts/Concerns?
The regular concerns. But now adding to that is: am I hurting the baby because of my gd? I read that GD in the first trimester can cause birth defects.

GTKY: Have you given any thought to names yet? What are your ideas?
I have an idea for a girl’s and a boy’s name. But I’m tryihg not to focus on that as it is still so far away.

Haven’t yet discussed with DH since it’s early but also because he doesn’t yet want to know the gender (making me put extra effort into not slipping).  For a girl (which this baby is per PGS), I like Teagan Rose (our last name starts with T and I like the dorky Harry Potter-style alliteration), even though the neighbors’ new little girl has Rose as her middle name.  No boy names really stuck out to me until Bowen (which is REALLY literal because it means son of DH’s name - but I don’t think he’d go for it).

@prudence9-2 ImI sorry you're struggling with GD. I think it's a great thing they caught it early, though, so I think you'll be able to manage ot now and prevent anything bad from happening to baby. ItsI more of a problem if the mom has it in 1st (and early 2nd) trimester if it goes unnoticed / untreated. Hang in there!!!

How are you feeling? I felt better earlier in my pregnancy. Now I feel tired all the time dont have the same energy I had. I dont have much appetite as well even though I dont have nausea (maybe slightly). 

Any recent/upcoming appointments? None until the 21st week for anatomy scan. Although I might ask the OB to do another ultrasound (even though I am against doing too many). Bc I dont know how I will survive without seeing my little toad...

Thoughts/Concerns? Not much. Just overall concerns all IVF moms have. 

Questions: None at the moment

GTKY: Have you given any thought to names yet? What are your ideas? We havent really talked about it much but its giving me anxiety lol. I'm Turkish (born and raised there) and my husband's origin is Egyptian. So, his last name is Arabic. Because of that I feel like the name has to match the last name, but I dont think I want to name my son an Arabic name. I would totally go for Turkish but they are usually very hard to pronounce by Americans. I do like Kayra (Turkish) but have concerns people might think its a girl name since it ends with "a". Ugh!!

I've been extra nauseous

I had my final blood draw today at my fertility doctor and I officially graduated! I have a fully functioning placenta! Yay! AND this Thursday we have our first trimester scan! It's a huge week for us!

Thoughts/Concerns?
Praying I don't find out I have GD next week when I go in for my early glucose test.

Questions:
Has anybody had Dean's french onion dip? I can't figure out if the milk is pasteurized.

@Ilky that's such a long time btw appointments!! I would probably ask for another scan as well, just for peace of mind!

Posted on the wrong week lol

Question to the group. Has any of you experienced severe headache/migraines during pregnancy? It started 3 days ago and continuing non-stop through the night. Right now its bearable but I hope it wont come back. It was so severe.

@Ilky I've had a good amount of headaches so far. I had a bunch during weeks 5-7, then they stopped. They've been back the last week or so. But, I've never had anything prolonged. They usually last a couple of hours and then they're gone. I couldn't imagine a migraine for 3 days! So sorry your dealing with that! I hope they stay at bay for you.

@mag1cbeli3ver thank you dear! Yesterday was lighter but intensified at night. I should go see an acupuncturist. I heard it might help. Ugh!

We had an ultrasound Thursday at 12 weeks 1 day. It was our first trimester scan and everything looked good with baby! The only thing is I have two subchorionic hemorrhages. They are both incredibly small and my doctor said the only reason she mentioned them was because 10% of the time you can see bleeding from them and she didn't want me to freak out. Instead, I started balling and kind of lost it and she was like shocked. But then she was like I understand you have been through a lot, we'll do another ultrasound at 16 weeks instead of waiting until 20 so you feel better. But she was like this is super common and nothing to worry about. I'm so worried though. Ugh. I have 25 days until my next ultrasound and I don't know how I'm going to get through that time. Logically, I know that they are small so I shouldn't worry but we've all been through so much so any hiccup is scary.

@mamajudec2018 I'm so happy you had a great scan! But sorry about the SCH's. I know a bunch of people who have had then early on and thth usually take care of themselves in a couple of weeks. Hopefully bt the time you go in for your next scan, they will be gone! Also, I know it's hard to wait so long btw appointments! Try to think happy thoughts, and remember that you can always call the OB if you need to before then. FX crossed for you!

@mag1cbeli3ver Thank you so much for those words of encouragement!! I'm hoping they will be gone by the next time! I am grateful that they added another ultrasound instead of making me wait until 20 weeks!
