Omg it is already 95 degrees in Austin and I can’t help thinking about how I’m gonna be my biggest when it’s hottest out My plan for this weekend and all upcoming weekends is staying close to water or AC
@BusinessWife@nackie@stothi It’s comforting to me to hear that you all have husbands like that. I have to say, mine too! He is amazing most of the time, but he gets frustrated easily. He gets over it quick and I just ignore it because it rarely has to do with me, but I do worry our son will learn that behavior. They will both be virgos! So, I imagine I will be dealing with two really sweet, fun, good, but super stubborn always in the right, easily frustrated guys!
And congrats on the progress @BusinessWife and @ashh2018! I have not yet finished clearing the room, but we bought everything we needed for painting today, so I feel good. Tomorrow I will be clearing the room all day (and figuring out what to do with my wedding dress that still has a guacamole stain on it somewhere!).
Man! You ladies are inspiring as hell I saw all of the things you were doing and got some stuff taken care of myself! Got the first coat finished on the baby room, bought a new lawn mower AND mowed the lawn (maybe our new neighbors won’t think we’re trash people now lol) and also grilled a meal for the crew who is working on a huge art installation in my husband’s studio. A limb fell down out of a locust tree in our yard last night so today I am buying a chainsaw (buying a new house is expensive!! $$$$$) so we can break that down. Hoping we get to relax a little this evening and maybe have a fire? We will have plenty of firewood
@samnd96 You got a ton of stuff done! I spent a long time at Home Depot yesterday (with H - He is the handy one and I just tag along for support). They seemed to be having good Memorial Day sales. Good luck with the chainsaw!
Hope you all are enjoying the long weekend @magnolia209 what a special experience for your family and best girlfriends to see you pregnant so exciting! Good on you ladies that have started working on your nursery projects! @BusinessWife@ashh2018 I'm not up to date on the nursery thread but do you guys have some colors you are working with? @SkilledSailor happy anniversary hope you had a beautiful weekend @EErin86 glad the party went well hope you enjoy your day off. 90's is hot LOL I'm from Canada we get 3 months here of summer couple days in the 90's maybe.. @jhjocelyn LOVE your idea of camping... that's my style for sure. Happy Anniversary @SkilledSailor! Hope you had a great picnic and enjoyable weekend.
@ashh2018 ticker change is for the day you switch over to a new week. Right now our group only has a Saturday one, but anyone could start it for the day of the week they change over and then everyone else who changes on that day would post there too. It’s kind of a way of celebrating making it another week.
@ashh2018 A lot of BMBs have moved away from the ticker change, but it was basically every day of the week had women that would check in for that specific day of the week. So if you were due on Saturday, September 1st, your ticker change day would be on Saturday. So every Saturday, you would do a check in with the similar relevant questions.. how far along, due date, symptoms, appointments, questions, etc. I think most BMBs, ours included, went to the 1st week, 2nd week etc check in, because it puts your check in with other women who are usually within a week or so of your same due date. Before, in this example, women with a Saturday ticker change would be due September 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th.
I am vicariously living through some of y'all on your weekends. Warning: huge rant...
I was so excited about this wekend being long and getting some things done. Well...my brother in law and my youngest nephew decided to take a trip to their beach house to do some maintenance. They left my sister in law (handicapped) and oldest nephew (20 but has no clue about real life) home. So...all weekend...we basically adopted them and all of their drama (he was not brought up with really any discipline or rules). Every day/night it was something. Saturday my dd had the stomach bug...so that washed my saturday. Yesterday,finally....I thought my H and I would be able to do our errands. CUE call from sis in law...so at 5:00 H gets home and we finally head out. His phone rang...and y'all....I literally burst into tears. This weekend was just a mess. PLUS....apparently I am insensitive because my sister in law decided to tell my H one of the times he was over there playing referee that I made her cry. Apparently she feels like she should be able to feel me up (rub my belly) anytime she wants...and I hate people touching me. So...one night a few weeks ago she made the comment she wanted to rub my belly and I simply stated that he was asleep and not moving....and I left. Well....she says she got upset and started to cry about it. She is in a walker and wheelchair so I find myself standing away from her so she can't reach me....sorry not sorry. So....I am just an insensitivite bitch....who knew.
@Asunshinek no! I’m sorry your weekend went to shit. You did nothing wrong. I don’t care who she is, she doesn’t have the right to touch you if you don’t want her to. How do people still not understand this?!
@Asunshinek ugh, I'm sorry about the mess of a weekend, that sounds pretty miserable. It's the worst when you set your expectations at one point and they're totally missed. I'd be 100% on your side about the whole rub the belly thing. She is not entitled to feeling your belly, period. I hate people touching me excessively anyway, and I definitely do not allow people to touch my stomach. Sorry your weekend wasn't better, hope the rest of your week is better!
@Asunshinek I love having my belly rubbed by a few select people but get enraged and disgusted when strangers or people I don't want touching me think they can. Only 2 people did last time and I wanted to hurt them. One isn't touching the baby. That's MY freaking belly. One wouldn't do it if I wasn't pregnant so don't do it now. It's not communal property, it's MY body. And maybe I'm insensitive, but I don't care if one is old, disabled, or a movie star, nothing automatically grants them access to my body.
I'm also disappointed with my weekend cause hubby's working all next weekend so this weekend was for potty training and whatever else. It's a 3 day weekend so it's a great time to tackle a 2 parent task. Yeah. Husband didn't bother to mention that he was going to be working today so I'd be on my own today with a potty training kid who's cranky cause there's no school today and he's bored. Thanks for leaving me hanging dude. That's awesome.
@Asunshinek sorry your weekend was so rough! You are 100% in the right with the belly touching thing. I feel like i have seen it a million places not to touch a woman’s stomach. The way I finally explained it to my H was that if it were any other part of my body (breast, butt, vagina) pregnant or not it would be considered inappropriate. I reminded him that he nor anyone else has a right to touch my body without my permission. That helped him understand.
Not to mention, I am trying to come to terms with my changing growing pregnancy body and having people touch it reminds me that I am getting bigger. Please don’t touch my body unless I ask you if you want to feel the baby move or you ask permission. And if I say no don’t be offended.
Well, all of our living room, dining room, and hallway walls are painted. Yay! But I am SO sore. I woke up so much from being uncomfortable and sore and even took an Epsom salt bath last night. Unfortunately, we still have trim we need to paint, but I'm pretty sure we can get that done in the next weekend or so. Having to paint so much now and liking how it looks better painted, really makes me regret not doing this when we first moved in. Oh well, it's great making my house feel more like my home.
Happy weekend! Hoping to make some progress on the “nursery” (lol no, it’s still a room full of furniture and boxes we need to either get rid of or store). Then getting the last few things I need for next weekend. My brother is getting married! But I have to fly across the country, which for me, would be an ordeal even not pregnant. Trying to not think about it much but still gotta plan.
Would anyone recommend/discourage compression socks for flying? I’ve been reading online that it’s helpful but my dr didn’t mention it so I know it isn’t necessary.
I bought them and wore them on the flight to Florida. My doctor told me to, because of pregnant women's heightened risk of blood clots. Honestly tho, they were hot and scratchy and I could not force myself to wear them on the flight home. I just made sure to stretch and move around a lot. With DD requiring 2 trips to the potty on a 2-hr flight, I figured I was ok.
@klj0228 that sounds amazing! Good for you girl. I've been wanting to book a massage also but my place doesn't have the hole for your belly in the table. Since lying on my stomach is something that sounds heavenly I am determined to find one!

@sclarke7 my normal place doesn’t either, but my Ob gave me a 50% off prenatal massage at this medical spa down from them. I figure might as well give it a try, especially since my dr is the one who is recommending them. They wouldn’t include that in their prenatal package if they didn’t think they were good. So looking forward to laying face down!!
