Ok, you guys got me motivated to think through meals for the week. Thank you! I have the ingredients to make the following for the week:
Loaded Sweet Potato Bowls Eggroll in a bowl Fajita chicken wings Basil turkey meatloaf
Tonight is going to be a leftover night, so I think I will do the meatloaf tomorrow. DD has gymnastics tomorrow night, so DH should be able to just pop it in the oven while we are there. Hoping the kids will eat it. Then, I'll work the rest of the meals in through the week.
Monday: turkey meatballs with spaghetti squash Tuesday: going to a minor league baseball game so probably burger and fries Wedneaday: chicken pie that hopefully DD will eat Thursday: White bean chicken chili Friends in town this weekend so grilling Friday and out to dinner Saturday!
Does anyone have any kid friendly smoothie ideas that have hidden vegetables? DD is being a pill about vegetables
@lifesabeach85 One I haven't personally tried yet but have heard good things about it a smoothie with banana, peanut butter, and spinach (supposedly the peanut butter taste overpowers any spinach taste and you just call it a Hulk smoothie or something fun that's green.
My DS actually likes carrots in his. I use low fat vanilla yogurt and frozen or fresh strawberries and carrots. You don't taste the carrots but they don't blend all the way he likes it because its kind of chewy (he thinks its ice he is crunching)
There are some good looking ones on Pinterest but I haven't tried them yet because we normally stick to fruit smoothies but this is something I will be experimenting with more.
@lifesabeach85 - I make a smoothie and add a big bunch of a green (kale, spinach, power greens mix), a couple stalks of celery, and 2 different fruits (orange, apple, berries, pineapple), a little bit of water and blend. Sometimes a tablespoon of hemp seeds or flax seeds. All of my kids have always taken this smoothie. The fruit sweetens it and they drink it no problem. My 2 oldest will rarely even taste a veggie other than in this smoothie.

@offtoneverland the toppings are where it gets a little unhealthy. I chop the potatos up to cube size and then pan fry them in olive oil spray. Then we top with green onions, cheese, and bacon. They are so yummy.

@lifesabeach85 Avocado is also great in smoothies. Makes them really creamy but there’s no avocado taste. I love them in chocolate pb smoothies.
