@kiwi2628 those are the kinds of things we should be able to talk about. It can inform those who are looking for resources, give those with experience a place to share, and potentially weed out more judgey lurkers lol.
I wanted to ask for good resources for circumcision/non as DH and I have different views on it and I want to hear the data and research from both sides. As well as vaccination ones. I am not anti vaccination but want to know if things can be spread out as I feel they get hit with so many at one time and just want to know more info. I had started to do research but stopped for now. Edit can't spell
I'm not ready for the circumcision thread lmao I have very strong opinions and debates like that give me anxiety

@SweetSweetTooth some people do spread them out. There are even suggested delayed schedules. But know that some insurances won't pay for them if they don't follow the cdc schedule. The combination ones (like DTaP, MMR etc) especially, many insurances like to fight if you want them broken into non combination shots. Also some drs offices won't do delay schedules, or won't separate them because they only carry combination ones. So be sure to talk with the insurance and pediatrician/where ever you would be getting shots (we have to get ours from the health department) to see what they cover/ their protocols for vaccines are.
@SweetSweetTooth - I don’t remember if you are planning to do daycare, but that is also something to take into consideration as your daycare may require proof of vaccination.
@SweetSweetTooth Personally I am against delayed schedules (as someone that has studied immunology extensively, and I dont mean in a google sort of way). They potentially expose your kid to periods where they are not vaccinated against very contagious, communicable diseases, as well as exposing others. In addition, vaccines themselves have changed so much in the past 20-40 years. The active proteins that cause the immune response are actually fewer in vaccines today then they were 30 years ago (I wanna say somewhere around 150-200 active proteins in todays vaccines, but dont quote me on that exactly). This means that you can create the smallest possible immune response that still gets you immune protection. In the past vaccines had thousands of proteins, making it more likely that a child would have a reaction to a vaccine 25 years ago then they would to a combination of todays vaccines.
In addition, one study I read showed that as far as for the child itself, having one vaccine at a time vs multiple vaccines at once is actually worse for the child mentally, as they are much more likely to develop fear and anxiety surrounding all of it because of 'more pain'. Basically to a kid, 2 or 3 shots at once is one pain event, even though it may be multiple pokes, where as one shot per visit makes them have more pain events int heir mind.
Also, and I can try to find the paper after work today, but a LOT of Dr. Sears 'research' (and I use that term beyond loosely) has been debunked as completely biases as well as inaccurate, and he is the main proponent.
Thats my opinion as a doctor- not a human doctor, but we had many shared classes with med students in vet school since 95% of it is actually all the same, and theory/practice of the immune response is the same no matter the mammal.
Personally, with the current VPD outbreaks we have going on, I'm happy to keep to the current vaccine schedule. I actually wish it didn't take so long for our kiddos to be fully vaccinated.

DD gets very high fevers from her shots, so after talking to her Drs we agreed to only do 2 shots at a time and it's made a huge difference. DS never had that problem, so it seems to definitely depend on the child in my personal experience.
@hellopartyof5 I had to temporarily split up / delay some of DD's vaccines when she was 6 months old. She was being tested for a seizure disorder (which she thankfully didn't end up having) and the doctor was worried about the vaccines causing a fever that would lead to a seizure. I think that's a perfectly valid reason to delay / split up vaccines. We ended up prioritizing the flu shot, which MANY people didn't understand. But she was more likely to contract the flu than anything else and, again, we were worried about fevers.

I cleaned my house top to bottom, completely spotless so I could spend all day in bed doing nothing today. Which I have done. With 0 regrets. Also, I shaved for the first time in more than a month (including legs and pits), in the hopes of having sex. And I'm super disappointed it didn't happen.

Thank you everyone who tagged me or commented about my questions!! I love how we can level-headedly share info and different thoughts we probably won't delay anything unless needed like for fevers but now I actually know to watch for recurring fevers vs just being a 'normal' side effect of vaccination! @knottieamusements I work from home so no daycare for us. If childcare is needed both sets of parents (and many more ) are ready and willing but yes, daycare would for sure increase need/want of vaccination on the CDC schedule.
@mytruelovesbeen there and done that with the shaving and it sucks. It always seems that I feel bloated or belch after shaving and being hopeful and then not even wanting to do something then! Sometimes DH knows I shaved and I have to turn him down. Ugh hope everything works out so you can have some fun!!
@SweetSweetTooth I'm always super exhausted after I shave. But hopefully we'll have another chance tonight.

Everytime I shave I never get any! DH and I call it the shave curse. I suspect perhaps the pressure or almost schedule like is a turn off OR DH likes a little fuzzy
