Leg Pain After C-Section

After nearly 24 hrs of labor I was sent to the OR for an emergency C-section. Since I was already prepped for a vaginal birth I had an epidural instead of a spinal. The next morning, my right leg was beginning to recover normally, but my left leg was still completely numb. I couldn't even get out of bed for the entire day, the next day I could manage to stand but still could not walk until late in the evening when I could at least walk to the bathroom with the aid of a walker, and then finally my last day in the hospital I could walk on my own. In the meantime, I had voiced my concerns to the nurses that something was wrong with my leg. At least twice an anesthesiologist came to talk to me about my concerns but no one actually did a thorough examination to see if there was anything wrong. As the anesthesia wore off (I still had little to no feeling in parts of my leg and foot four weeks after I was released!) I began to get a burning pain in my leg as well as intense pins and needles (which did not happen with my right leg). In addition, the parts that did have feeling were extremely sensitive. So.. to make a long story short... nine weeks later I am STILL having pain in my left leg. Most of the feeling has since returned, just my toes are a little numb still, but the pain has not gone away, in fact I've been having aches in my joints in addition to the burning pain. Walking is extremely difficult. Has anyone ever experienced this before? And if so, how long did it take to recover? I've scheduled to see a doctor in a few days, and I'm hoping I can finally get some answers!
