I'm just gonna say it....I hate Reeses peanut butter cups. Or anything that falls in the peanut butter dessert category. Peanut butter does not belong in a dessert.
@penny624 I think peanut butter is just overrated in general. I'll get a craving for it maybe once a year where I will have a spoonful from the jar (crunchy only). Other than that and the occasional PBJ I pretty much never eat it.
Building off of my love for science from last week... I am a strong supporter of vaccines. In my opinion, there is really no reason other than legitimate medical reasons to not vaccinate.
I'm part of a local moms group on FB, and I cringe every time someone posts asking about what people think of vaccines. The stuff people post to justify it is just beyond me.
A girl I work with also is not vaccinating her baby bc "of what it did to her brother." Apparently her family blames vaccines bc he has some mental disabilities. I actually like this coworker otherwise, but yeah, she got the side eye.
I love peanut butter, chocolate, raisinettes, Starbucks, vaccines, and the Oxford Comma.
Since another thread read introduced me to the world of breast milk jewelry, I can now say that I think that immortalizing boob juice is creepy AF. I’d rather wear a vial of DH’s blood a la 2002 Angelina Jolie.

I think breast milk jewelry is weird as well. Plus anything that has to do with the placenta is weird. It is a human organ that is designed to keep out toxins from the baby. Why the F would you then eat it???
@echo-charlietango Oxford comma foreverrrr!!!! and yeah, i was really confused about the breast milk jewelry. I didn't know if it was functional or just sentimental. I mean, do you, but I just don't get it lol
@kadeephd i have HEARD (don't know if it's true) that because sbucks doesn't source all of their beans from the same place, they intentionally burn it for consistency. But agreed, it's definitely bitter. If i have to get coffee from there, i either get a vanilla latte or dump it full of milk and sugar. Usually i'm a black coffee chick.
I guess my UO is that I think breastmilk jewelry is pretty cool! But I’m picky about my jewelry style and haven’t been able to find anything I really like.

I hate it when women talk about "playing the pregnancy card". Please, for the sake of the rest of us, please don't. I don't want anyone else thinking I've got "mommy brain" or someshit just because you wanted an excuse. This is part of the reason I'm trying to keep this a secret so long at work - because I know these biases exist already. It drives me nuts when I see women making it worse.
@runrinserepeat Oh, I’ve always hated “mommy brain” too. Lighthearted self-deprecating language is so...unnerving. The patriarchy is real if lapses only impact “mommies”

When you start leaving the house in your slippers more often then your shoes (seriously, had to keep a pair of flats in the car because I obviously couldn't work in my slippers!) and forgetting to put on deodorant or brush your teeth and forgetting your work bag on your way to work constantly you start to believe pregnancy brain is real. Not that it should be used as an excuse. But I definitely started to keep extras of everything with me all the time.
I mean, this is my third pregnancy. I've been through this all before. "Pregnancy brain" and all the other crap women use for excuses still grate on me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I think I made my breastmilk pendant because I was a little sad about being done with BF. I probably only wore it for a week or so and now I just have it sitting around for a keepsake. I'm sure someday B will be like, "Mom, that's just weird/gross." But, whatev! `
I'm not into breast milk jewelry but if you like keepsakes I have seen breast milk made into Christmas tree ornaments which I thought was a little cool.
I think pregnancy brain is legitimate. Between the hormones and lack of sleep, etc, I don't feel like it's an excuse, but a legitimate thing. I've done things pregnant on accident that I'd never do any other time. Just like saying your nauseated, overly exhausted, or your back hurts; these are all physical symptoms of pregnancy, and I feel "pregnancy brain" is lumped right in there. Just because it doesn't happen to every pregnant woman doesn't make it not real.
I guess my UO is that I just don't find Ikea cool. I just...don't... The the thought of walking around that maze just gives me anxiety. I've ordered online but I don't think I ever care to go back. I'm a weirdo, I know!
I only like buttercream frosting if it’s really good and not too sugary. Frosting from a tub is ick.
@beccaneu I know nothing about the process but I’m assuming it’s dried and turned into a powder, and then somehow mixed with a medium that hardens and turns into the “gem” of the jewelry. If that makes any sense. There are DIY kits you can buy on Etsy and stuff.

I guess my UO is that I do think their is benifit for consuming placenta. It absolutely can help with ppd and ppa.
I’m not going to touch vaccines, but I’m sure by now y’all can imagine which way I sway.
I think breast milk jewelry is pretty but am too lazy to actually send mine away to do anything.
I prefer cream cheese frosting over anything else.
I’m forgetful in general, pregnancy makes no difference.
AFM, I think formal education starts too young and we push our kids into reading too soon. There’s a normal range to walk, talk, crawl, etc, but there seems to be no tolerance in normal ranges for children and reading. I also strongly believe in play based learning.

I thought about using this one for my UO, too. It makes me a little sad how much homework my kindergartener comes home with. And the thing is, she's probably fine with it. She's always been much more inclined to want to read and math and stuff, so cool. But our son just isn't, and I'm worried about how that's going to go in another year or two

@clbness I do love what IKEA brings but it is SO stressful in there! The hubby and I have had way too many disagreements. We've started skipping to the warehouse area instead of walking through all the set ups. Grabbing what we need and going.

I didn't even know breastmilk jewelry was a thing? What is it? Like vials of breastmilk as a pendant or something? That just seems odd.
