FYI, I just bought a pair of full panel jeans for the future. This morning I tried them on to estimate when I should wear them...and the damned things fit (But they may not for long if my butt keeps getting bigger)
Im folding over the waistband of course, and they do need pulling up after sitting. But the ultra soft waistband? I’m flying in these mofos today!

I've been considering how little I can get by with buying. I'll get a pair of pants or two and a few tops, but then cardigans will work while pregnant. I've been reading about non-maternity clothes that you can wear throughout your pregnancy too -- like maxi skirts under your belly or dresses with stretch. Not a great option for December maybe, but should get me through September without a problem.
The only thing I'll say about maxi skirts in pregnancy is to make sure they're not too long if you push the waistband all the way down to low on your hips. I have a few that are the perfect length when I wear them up where they're supposed to be at my waist, but I was tripping over the front of them when I tried to wear them under my bump.

I actually wore maxi skirts with DD all the way through (she was a summer baby). Instead of wearing them around my hips though I pulled them all the way up over my belly just under my boobs and wore a tank or a fitted/maternity t shirt under it and tucked it in. It looked like a one piece dress when I did that and I'll be doing it again for sure. AND, it's super comfy.
@echo-charlietango I always loved my full-panel pants and swore I was going to keep wearing them post-pregnancy. I felt differently when that time actually came But I’ll be happy to bust them out again.

I have some full panel jeans I loved, they were skinny jeans. And a pair of full panel shorts! I'll need a couple more pairs of those I imagine given GA is hot. But I will for sure be okay with not having a Dec baby in the NE winter.
I recommend checking FB marketplace for maternity clothes. I’ve gotten some great deals and people usually sell it in lots just to get rid of it. It’s also usually in pretty good condition since it’s worn for a short amount of time. Even if you don’t like everything in the lot it’s still worth it for the money you save. I recently got 3 pairs of maternity leggings for $5.

I recently lost a bunch of weight (20 lbs), so I have plenty of clothes that fit me *and* my bloat. I have a late Dec due date, so I think it will be a month or so before I need to get into maternity clothes.
Last time around I loved the h&m full panel leggings. I didn’t give them up until 6 months postpartum. Paired with a dress and blazer or cardigan, they made a great work uniform. This time around, I want to find some maternity jeans I like. Whatever I had last time never fit right.
Edited because I’m always on mobile and can’t type.
@AGK2015 I'll keep that skirt issue in mind! I often buy stuff online, but pregnancy might be a time to actually go and make sure something works before buying.
That said... I just bought three lularoe julia dresses on eBay. I don't have much LLR, but I read they are great pregnancy dresses. I found a great deal and I think/hope I'll be able to keep wearing them into my third trimester. I shoved a basketball up there just to see if one of them stretched enough
Something else no one has mentioned yet...Stitch Fix. Last pregnancy I got a fix and requested maternity stuff. I absolutely loved it!!! They sent me the cutest pair of teal blue skinny pants and a cute flowy shirt. The shirt wasn’t technically maternity but I was able to wear it all the way through the 2nd trimester and I still wear it now. And the nice thing about stitch fix is that if something doesn’t fit or you don’t like it you can exchange it for the right size or just return it and it doesn’t cost you anything. If you’ve never done it before, it may take a couple of fixes for them to hone in on your style but there have been multiple times I have kept every item because they knew me so well! here is my referral link if anyone wants to try it https://www.stitchfix.com/referral/4357699?som=c&sod=i

@mittenlove86 I might try that. I almost signed up for them a couple weeks ago but backed out because I wasn't sure how good they were. I do LeTote rentals off an on, but that's an expensive service and you don't get to keep the clothes, I am going to try a month of their maternity subscription though.
@ChristenMA83 I agree, I am not a huge fan of buying online because I then have the problem of it not fitting and having to send it back.
@kadeephd I've heard the same thing about the Julia! I have a couple, but none of them would fit me with a bump. I think I'd have to size up a size to allow room for belly and boobs. lol
@coco2787 I was thinking facebook martketplace! I can't really look for anything until we announce though, because I know friends and family can see when I ISO or comment on stuff.

@AdorkablePixie I've never had a Julia and I later read that most people size up in that dress anyway. I got the size I have two other LLR dresses in and probably should have gone up a size, but it was such a good deal I couldn't say no lol. One of them is super stretchy and will definitely work for quite a while. The least stretchy one might only work for for a month or two.
@kadeephd I was actually going to bring up LLR last night but never got around to it! When I was pregnant I got an Amelia dress, a Nicole dress, and a Julia dress. All three were super flattering (though I did have to wear pregnancy shapewear with the Julia dress to avoid VPL). The bonus with the Amelia is that it can be worn backwards after birth and zipped down for nursing.
@mittenlove86 I’m happy to hear you had a positive experience with Stitch fix for maternity stuff. I’m looking forward to getting a box in a few months! I’ve only ever had one, but they picked out a really cute Easter dress and purse for me.

@ChristenMA83 i was thinking of getting letote maternity in a month or so as well. I used to do the regluar service, but it got pricey. I did end up buying a few things from the regular collection that i think will work for a while as i get bigger- wrap dresses and such. But i think the subscription price might be worth it for a month or 2 if i find some things that are really great. I haven't decided yet though.
@PensiveCrayon +1 on VPL? Very Plush Legs? Voracious Pubic Lines? ...
Oh! Visible Panty Lines!
Edited to add - I’m 100 percent thong lady because I’m so anti VPL but also too lazy to buy (more) shapewear. The lacy thongs from Aerie are my favorite, even though I recently had to size up

PSA: Hey LLR ladies be careful with anything from the noir collection. It can dye your skin black. Takes two days to wash off. Bought a bunch of it, all garbage! (Yes I have washed everything multiple times, like 10+)
@AdorkablePixie I don’t know of any issues with leggings. The material that leaks dye was used to make the perfect T, Linnea, Carly, GiGi, Julia and maybe Irma. It’s not a material you could make leggings out of.
I’m a FTM (almost 8 weeks) and I’ve been so bloated the last couple weeks that I have already bought a pair of side panel maternity jeans from Target. I also bought 6 of the cute ruched side shirts because they were having a sale. I haven’t busted those out yet. I ordered some maternity leggings online and am looking forward to those getting here because it’s definitely uncomfortable in my regular pants. I wear scrubs for work and the waist bands are definitely getting uncomfortable, I’ll probably size-up soon.
I’ve been wearing side panel maternity pants for about a week now and a cami under my shirts. I have a sensitive stomach and bloat horribly in early pregnancy. There is no clothing police to tell you when you can or can’t wear maternity clothing, just do what feels right

I have leggings and and Irma from their Noir collection and have never had this issue.
I just got in two dresses that I ordered from Dwell and Slumber and they are sooo comfortable. They have an Instagram dwellandslumber. You can dress it up or wear it casual and around the house. It works with pregnancy, nursing, and after. So happy about it.
Oh, I forgot to say! I also have a couple Irma tops that I loved during pregnancy. ETA: @sushilove15 I just checked out Dwell and Slumber. Those dresses look pretty cool! I'll have to see how preggos style them before I'm sold but I'm definitely on my way there

@CecilB93 I have a few close friends who sell. It was a type of fabric used for shirts and dresses. I guess I am very unlucky that I got multiple items all the same bad material. Lula claims black clothes bleeding is a thing. I have never had any other black clothing bleed on to my skin. It’s a terrible company and after other people were having to fight for returns, I just cut my loses. They suggested I wash with a vinager solution, which is laughable.
I just bought two pairs of maternity shorts from H&M. I'm only 8 weeks but my regular shorts are already tight Considering wearing them when we go out for burgers tonight. Comfort over pride, my friends.
With it being summer, I’ve just been buying the flowy pants/shorts with the elastic drawstring waistbands and maxi dresses/skirts. Much comfier than jeans.
I have been eyeing maternity wear, but I haven’t loved anything yet... so I think I’m just gonna wait til I’m a bit bigger. Even though I feel huge already.
I bought two pairs of pants one size up to accommodate the bloat. Plus, they will be nice to have post-partum when I'm trying to get back down in size. I find most maternity clothes dont fit right this early on (I'm only 7 weeks). Bottoms with a full panel have such a low waist, it accentuates the "bump" (bloat) on me and I'm trying to still keep the good news under wraps at work!
