@sparkymcgeee Add me to the list of people fighting their way in. I know for a fact my OB would want to see me sooner and the scheduler tried to put me in for a normal 8 week appointment. NOPE. I messaged my OB and it was intercepted by office staff. I messed again and finally she got it and had her scheduler call me to bring me in this week.

I nearly had a panic attack at that appointment today. My blood pressure was 130/90. Which is stupid high for me. We talked baby aspirin and progesterone. They did a beta draw and we'll do another wednesday. The doctor should call me tomorrow. Well his nurse. Hopefully they continue to take this pregnancy super seriously.

@sparkymcgeee Sorry it was so stressful? What we’re the conclusions about the aspirin and progesterone? I will be talking the same with my OB as I was on both with DD. I’m so nervous about the blood work in particular.

He wasn't in the office today so they will talk to him and the nurse will call me tomorrow. After my loss in October we talked about it and my thoughts are anything to help. I'm old and I've had three miscarriages. I could use some help. I don't think he will be anything but supportive. He's such a good doc. It makes up for being young and attractive.

@sparkymcgeee I’m glad! Camp anything will help is a crappy place to be but it’s good that you have a supportive doctor who will hopefully agree to giving it a shot!

I made this Mexican style chicken dish for dinner last night. I've made it several times because it's easy and DH and I both love it. As I was taking it out of the oven I realized I completely forgot to season it. Is it too early to blame pregnancy brain? lol.
I mixed up the seasonings I usually use in a bowl and we both just sprinkled it on top. It was OK, but it wasn't the same...
Went to snack on some honey cinnamon almonds a little while ago and realized I grabbed smokehouse by mistake. Eww.
I'd like to blame both of these on pregnancy brain but I think it's just me lol.

Also, I had to go around to 3 copiers during my prep period this morning to find one that was working. #HappyTeacherAppreciationDay

I went to target to pick up a few essentials and my husband asked me to grab him lunch while I was out. I came home sat the Target bags on the table and went upstairs to change DD,  I came downstairs to DH rifling through the Target bags looking for his lunch I forgot to pick up.....whoops  :D I'm going to blame this on pregnancy brain too

@galactickates - YAY! working from home is great ... are you intending to keep LO at home with you while you work?

@catlady2015 yes that would be the plan. I told my manager I would have till see how it goes.  On some days I might bring LO to  my mom's if I go in. Or maybe have her come over.  My work is super flexible. Doesn't matter the hours as long as everything gets done

@galactickates - so jealous! I WFH all the time but have to be available for meetings, etc. at particular points in the day and worry that I wouldn't get anything done if I was trying to be primary caregiver and work FT. I will be taking 3 months off so I can see how good the baby is, but I'm not counting on having the most chill child in the world. We're tentatively planning that DH can take one day during the week, and I'm going to try to go to 4 10s so LO's only at day care 3x a week.

@catlady2015 my H wants me to be a SAHM, so I feel like I have a safety net.  We'll do it until we don't. H is supportive of whatever I decide,  so i want to try.  The first three months will definitely dictate what happens though.  My salary just isn't enough combined with an hour commute each way to justify day care.

I'm pretty excited for maternity leave though!

I feel like a blood hound

Someone made coffee and since I've given it up,  this is painful for me. Normally I can't smell the office Keurig but right now the smell is so strong I can practically taste it.

@galactickates *gasps* why did you give up coffee?! I’m limiting but can’t function without it.

@olivemomma - ughhhh because I've heard both sides to coffee - about avoiding it all together and 1-2 cups is fine. I had an ectopic last year and I'm pretty much unwilling to take any risks whatsoever at the moment.  It's just not worth it to me. Plus if anything happened, I would probably unrealistically  blame it on coffee.  We're one and done so I figure I can give up my vice for a few months for some mental peace of mind.

I know lots of people drink coffee,  take sips of alcohol, even smoke! And their babies turn out fine.  I totally don't wear judgey pants either on almost everything  (if you smoke while pregnant I do judge you though)  I just have to do what's right for me (us)

@galactickates I am with you 100%. I used to drink 2 cups of coffee every day. I cut back during my last pregnancy to 1 cup every day. **TW** But after my miscarriage a few months ago, I'm not taking any chances this go around. Just trying to be cautious. Everyone at work drinks coffee, and I smell it all day long. It's torture.

I started drinking an unsweetened iced tea every morning to replace what would have been my normal ice coffee. It’s not the same BUT it stopped the caffein withdrawal headaches I was having for the first week or so.

Also my jusgy mc-judgerpants office mate (who also happens to be a clueless but well intentioned guy) asked me if starting the day off like that is ‘healthy’. Uhm excuse me bro. 1. It’s unsweetened (“Oh I was just imagining a ton of sugar dumped in”) and 2. MIND YOUR BUSINESS UNLESS YOU WANT MY PREGNANT RAGE!

@BitterBetty12 why do people feel the need to MONITOR what a pregnant girl is/isn't eating/drinking?? And even if someone wants to judge or wonder, they can keep it in their damn head.

@sweetyjenj Exactly. Also, he doesn’t even know I’m pregnant (though he knows somethings up because I’ve had to leave early / middle of the day for tests and appointments). But in general, it’s none of his damn business if I want to drink pure sugar water for breakfast every morning!
