Uncomfortable

Hi ladies
I'm 18 weeks pregnant and it's been an uncomfortable journey so far. I'm constantly in pain in the pelvic and tummy area. Not very bad pain but I don't know what to do. I work as a toll op so I'm constantly bending over.plus I'm worried about the fumes. I don't sleep and have a pretty stressful personal life. I really wish I could enjoy this pregnancy especially after two mcs last year xx

Agree with talking to your doctor on all this but you could try a few things to possibly help. Have you tried a belly support belt? You might be too small still but worth looking into. The pains and discomfort can be normal since your body is adjusting to it all. You can also see a chiropractor to help with some of the pelvic issues. They can suggest some stretches. Maybe also look for a way to relieve some stress (yoga, some alone time etc). I would even go as far as a seeing a counselor/therapist to at least talk through some stuff if you feel the need. Overall i understand the worries of not connecting with being pregnant due to past experiences/events. It may take some time and that’s ok! Hang in there and i hope you get some relief and comfort soon!
  • Hi! I’m so sorry for your losses. PGAL brain is always hard. I would definitely talk to your OB about your work conditions to make sure they’re safe, and if there’s anything you can do to make yourself more comfortable. Also agree about the stretching and support belt ideas. If bending your torso is exacerbating your discomfort, have you tried bending from the knees? Not sure exactly what you’re doing so that might not work but worth a try.

  • I’ve had multiple losses so I’m so sorry to hear that you’ve experienced that as well. Unfortunately enjoying pregnancy is hard after that happens. It’s incredibly stressful and you question everything. I would talk to your doctor about your job, but understand that aches and pains do come with the territory, as scary as they seem. I would also jump on to other threads here to see what other women are experiencing. It might ease your mind a little to see that others are experiencing similar things

  • This could potentially be diastasis recti (the tummy area, probably not the hips), but I'd definitely talk to your dr about it. My first pregnancy my belly hurt so badly because of this.

  • I have horrible hip pain during pregnancy and the only thing I have found that helps is seeing a chiropractor. I was already having horrible pain this pregnancy and started seeing a chiropractor about three weeks back. I feel like a completely different person.

@Sekerambo I so need to look into making an appointment with my chiropractor!! Glad it's helping you, I've been having some serious sciatic and upper back In the ribs pain hoping he can help with..
  • @mamabearcj Hopefully yours can help.  I was in pretty rough shape my first appt. My pain started in the lower back and hips. I was also having knee issues and had started having tingling in my foot. I have been seeing my chiropractor 2-3 times a week. Last week I only went once and I'm feeling it again, although nowhere near what it was.
