Introducing myself!

Hi everyone! This is my first pregnancy and my husband and I are excited (I probably more than him). Based on my LMP we are around 6 weeks along and due right around Christmas!  My first appointment is tomorrow with a prenatal nurse. She said there will be blood work and lots of discussion. Wish me luck! I'm dragging my husband along for support. Any ideas on what I should expect? I notice most have their first visit with an OB..so I was confused with why my Dr's office has the first visit with a nurse.

Hi, welcome to the board! Just so you're aware there is a "introduce yourself" sticky thread at the top of his board if you want to copy/paste this in there. Anyway, perhaps you're only meeting with a nurse as your first visit could be a confirmation of pregnancy visit?  With my first that's how mine was; and my second visit was with my actual OBGYN and I had all the blood testing for intake and what not.   Congrats again!!!

Yes, what @hallgire said. I met with the nurse for confirmation of pregnancy, then had an OB appointment two weeks later.
