So annoyed that all of our house is all packed up and the movers have yet to come and get it. The house is filled with boxes. Ughhh. My daughter likes to play and get into them. The movers need to come and take them away, like yesterday.  Supposed to happen on Friday, then today, now tomorrow.     It's my first PCS (SO's like 5th) and my patience is so short w/ this pregnancy and my nearly 2 year old running rampant. I need some coffee, stat!

  • My work has been overbooking us the last several weeks. This is the first lunch I’ve had in 2 weeks and it’s only 15 minutes. Morning sickness is starting to hit and I hardly have time to shove some crackers in my mouth before I have to grab the next patient.

And of course, the one time I get lunch where I just want to lay my head on the table and be miserable, Mrs. Chatty Kathy is in here talking my ear off. She’s not picking up on social ques whatsoever and I kind of want to tell her to just be quiet.

  • I went to DEQ (smog test) 3 times last week, once after a long drive where I attempted to do a drive cycle (hard to find anywhere I can coast to a complete stop without braking around here. I was on a country road and still had other cars interfere with my plans). Each time, it says one of my system things is “unready”- the same one.

Today we brought the car into the shop and they can’t find anything wrong with her. They just said to drive her around more and try again. DEQ isn’t open on Mondays and it’s conveniently the last day of the month, so I get to do a long drive tomorrow with expired tags & fingers crossed not get pulled over for that and fingers double crossed the systems are all “ready” tomorrow when I try again.
  • @texas_t
Yours made me lol. I feel you. I went to the gym today and I am exhausted (stupid for thinking I could go without coffee today) and all I could think of is how weak I look lifting my little weights and having to take breaks. I know nobody looks at you at the gym but I can't wait until I can look "strong" for working out while pregnant instead of feelingfeeli for not doing my heavy weights!

  • My rant today is about something for next week. Something changed in the schedule (I'm in a choir - nothing I can do if they change rehearsals) and now I have something every single night next week.. I don't know how I'll get through.. The worst part is that on that Thursday is a fancy formal fundraiser that I was looking forward to and now I think I will be too tired to enjoy it  :/

  • I've been working two gosh darned weeks to try and get this OT referral for my son straightened out. Blahhhh! (I did make some progress today. The clinic is calling the therapy place to see what they need, since they seem to have sent everything in order. Fx it actually works.)

  • State survey is in the building today through wednesday. Luckily i made it through the day. And i only have to survive tomorrow. But everyone gets their panties in a wad when state walks in the building. It just makes for a crazy hectic day. Although i did get a compliment from my unit manger who said that one of the state surveyors said that i was a really good tech. So that kinda makes me feel good despite the chaos.
  • My dog walker is on vacation.  That means my dog hasn't been walked all day (she is paper trained inside) and I'll have to walk her when I get home.  I am too tired to function after my hour and a half subway commute home.  Ugh.
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @lexidawg hour and a half subway commute  :open_mouth:
  • @Jens_Hoes - Do not get me started.  It's an hour and a half between the subway and a bus.  I normally hate it....I feel like the commute will end me while pregnant.
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • That's painful, @lexidawg. Hope the length at least means that you're at the beginning or end of a route and you're regularly able to snag a seat.

@lexidawg God I wish I had that shirt in general - please let me sit so I don't throw up, please don't trap me in long conversations in strong smelling food areas, please don't hog our apartment building's elevator to go one flight, etc.. I think the first trimester is so much worse than any other time you're pregnant and that's the time when no one can tell!
  • @Jens_Hoes Ugh, yes. My H keeps lighting this incense in the house that makes me want to barf. Add the fact that it’s lily season and they’re in bloom all around the neighborhood (sue me, I hate the smell of lilies even when I’m not KU) and I can’t go anywhere! :bawling:

  • @maureenmce All of those things! All of them!

@Jens_Hoes YES!!  We were at brunch with a group of my Hs friends for his birthday yesterday.  It was a bottomless drink brunch and I had orange juice.   It was a Mexican restaurant and the smell of the tequila in the margaritas was making me so sick.  It was getting hard to sit at the table and pretend to be fine and that I was just letting my H drink it up and I was DD.

    @PensiveCrayon  Make him stop immediately!

  • A kid shit at work today (in a diaper) but it was a SUPER stinky load and the mom kept asking him if he was ready to get his diaper changed. Funny enough he kept saying no because we have awesome toys. Please excuse me as I go dry heave in my office due to the stench coming from your kids asshole.
  • whaatwhaat member
@mckcak23 you never ask if they want avdiaoer change! You tell them!! Ugh. I want to give my kid choices but come on.
  • What @whaat said. My child would never get his diaper changed if it was up to him. The struggle is sooooo real over here.

@lexidawg i totally know your pain. My subway commute is an hour and the time you need a seat the most is when no one can tell you’re pregnant.

also sadly don’t necessarily expect seats when you are showing. everyone’s too immersed in their phones.

last time one when i was going through the bad MS phase it was middle of summer. between the heat and the smells......barf

Ha. I've now been offered a seat literally every ride home for the past two weeks. Can't even blame my unflattering coat today because I wasn't wearing it. The bloat is REAL.

In contrast, I got offered a seat twice in my entire last pregnancy, despite gaining 80000000 lbs (and neither of those times were when the train I was on ended up standing on the tracks for two hours because of a mechanical failure in front of us).  Definitely not taking those seats now, lest karma come back to bite me again.
  • My obnoxious brother (who got stationed here just because he wanted to be near me so I could help him and his wife with their one baby. Uh, I have 3.5 kids and a husband who is rarely home. GTFO.) ANYWAYS, He's having surgery on his nose tomorrow and I have to wake up early to watch the baby for God knows how long  :'(. I love my niece so much but, right now, I love sleep more. Sigh.

I've reached out to three nutritionists who specialise in pregnancy and two doulas/ midwives since our BFP three weeks ago and haven't heard back from anyone.

  • Ok, so this may belong in unpopular opinions, but it's totally ME being a B*, so here it is:

A long time friend, who is in a very unhappy marriage (he cheats on her and she knows it; she is constantly posting passive- aggressive statuses on Facebook to get attention, etc to the point that I just unfollowed her) just pinned something to a new board "pregnancy announcement ideas". And I know I'm being a total B* because I'm not happy about it and hoping that, if she is pregnant and this isn't some stupid way to get attention, that we are not due around the same time. Also, bringing a child into a terrible relationship just seems wrong to me, especially since she totally knows she is doing it because it "would make things better".

End rant.. judge me if you will  :/

I know it's not Monday anymore, but I just have to bitch about my endocrinologist's office. I have a thyroid autoimmune disease and I had some thyroid complications postpartum after giving birth to my daughter, so I have to be monitored closely and especially closely in pregnancy. So, how it works is I have to go to a Quest labs the day before my endocrinologist appointments to get my blood drawn, then my endo will have my results at my appointment and we can discuss any medication adjustment needed. So today, I wake up 45 minutes early so I can go to the lab, I wait 30 minutes at the lab, then they call me back only to realize they don't have the paperwork from my dr's office because they never sent it. AND my dr's office is randomly closed today, so they can't fax it over.

So I wasted about 2 hours of my time for nothing AND my doctor won't even have the results of my bloodwork at my appointment, so that is basically a waste of time too. I left an annoyed message with the receptionist (probably embarrassingly too annoyed) but I don't care because I'm hormonal, I desperately need that 45 minutes of sleep I missed, and I am VERY nervous about my thyroid levels during this pregnancy after **TW two losses, one of which happened when my thyroid was out of range end TW** so I am PISSED. Also, I have been seeing this particular doctor for 3 years now, this has always been the routine, there is no reason for it to suddenly change, wtf???
  • @maureenmce I would be furious! Why would they close on a random Tuesday?!? Can they get the on call doc to send in the orders?

  • @katy0990 She's the only doc in the practice and, according to her message, she's closed for some sort of residency thing? This has never happened before (the random closing or the not sending paperwork) so I'm at all loss.
  • @maureenmce That’s bullshit! I’m cranky today anyway and now I’m furious for you!

From MilSpouse to MilSpouse - I feel you. I hope your brother realizes RIGHT NOW that he's being an inconsiderate ass. Actions like that can cause estrangement, and you are a bajillion times more patient than me.

I was once like your friend, minus the FB passive aggression. I tried to get KU with a dude with hopes that he would "man-up" and be a dad. Thank goodness that didn't happen. I hope your friend can step back and see her relationship as it is. Then I hope she raises her standards and dumps his ass. Yes, divorce is hard, but I cut my turd loose after 7-8 years and can't believe I didn't do it sooner. The grass really is greener.

That's absurd! I would certainly complain to the office supervisor if possible. They should have checked your paperwork last week :rage:

    @echo-charlietango

Good for you! I have a friend in the process of divorce after having a child (2 year old) and I feel bad for both her and the kid (not because I disagree, but because I know the guy was a real piece of work and now she will never be able to get rid of him). But I am very proud of her for standing up for herself and saying "enough". She said it's definitely hard, but she is a lot happier. I hope my other friend can see the light, too, but considering people have been talking to her about it from the start, I sort of doubt it  :/

  • @ab_canada Oh, sounds like she'd rather have the stability of "being married" than being happy or respected. FX that she does the best thing for her and the potential baby :grimace:
