How are you feeling? Great! The last couple days have been pretty free of symptoms. I think I finally found the perfect breakfast to start my day without getting sicky feeling (Boiled Egg, Oatmeal & Banana).
Any recent/upcoming appointments? Two more weeks until our next ultrasound (May 14). We'll also be doing the NIPT bloodwork at that time and graduating from the RE.
Thoughts/Concerns? Waiting on our RE office to send my records to a midwife group so they can tell me if I qualify to use the natural birthing unit at our local hospital. If they determine I have any high-risk factors I won't get to use the natural birthing unit, which means we'll likely choose a different hospital and the same OB I've been with for 10 years. I'm worried my age and weight will put me in their high-risk category. Just anxious for the records to go out so I can officially schedule my 12 week OB appointment. The midwives won't let me schedule until they've looked at my records.
If I don't qualify for the natural birthing unit I know I can still choose an unmedicated birth, but I won't have all the pain management tools readily available that are in the natural birthing suits.
Questions:
GTKY: Spring is here (kind of)! What are some of your favorite spring activities? What are you most looking forward to over the next 2 months? Favorite Activities: Hiking in the nice weather!! And getting the baby pool out for my dogs on hotter days. The younger one is so flipping cute with the hose! Looking forward to: Hopefully clear test results from our NIPT and finding out Lil'Bug's gender. Our end of May trip with old friends.
Symptoms are coming and going! I've basically resigned myself to kind of a constant feeling of queasiness though as long as I have some food in my stomach the actual dry heaving nausea seems to happen sporadically! Sore boobs, emotional as heck (I cried in private at my best friends bachelorette party this weekend because all I wanted was to go home to my husband and dog and my own bed lol), crampy/pinching/pulling in my abdomen. As of a day or so ago I've started having to pee all the time!
Any recent/upcoming appointments?
I have my third round of blood work and my second ultra sound on Friday morning! Hopefully we will get to see a bit more this time as it was still super early last week! I'll be 5 weeks 5 days so fingers crossed! I also spoke with the midwife/CRN practice we had decided we wanted to go with for the birth this week and made a tentative appointment for early June so I'll already be on the books when we get released from the RE. So thats exciting, though don't want to jinx anything either!!
Thoughts/Concerns?
I'm relaxing a bit more when it comes to symptoms - realizing it seems they will come and go. Still makes me a little nervous when I'm suddenly not feeling queasy lol but I'm starting to remember to enjoy those moments because another bout of queasyness should be right around the corner! Still getting used to all the pinches and pulls in my stomach! Sometimes its a bit stronger than normal and I worry somethings wrong but then it passes.
Questions:
GTKY: Spring is here (kind of)! What are some of your favorite spring activities? What are you most looking forward to over the next 2 months?
I love spring! Its been a bit cooler here this spring than I'd like but it seems to be warming up! I love going for walks and the new apartment complex we just moved into has a nice small dog park just a few minute walk from our building. So i'm definitely looking forward to heading there with our 1 year old puppy Lily whenever I get a chance! Looking forward to just being outside more! And of course the biggest thing I'm looking forward to is getting the release from our RE and getting to share our happy news with our families!!
@ChristenMA83 I have an almost identical breakfast! (But usually OJ instead of a banana)! Glad you've been feeling great lately! @thothscribe81 It's hard to get comfortable with the coming/going of symptoms! I'm glad you seem to be at that point already! Hoping it brings you less stress and worrying!
How far along are you? / EDD 9 weeks 2 days / Dec. 1
How are you feeling? Not many changes. Still just tired all the time! Although, I now find that I gag every time I brush my teeth, which is really annoying! Never had that problem before, but now, if I get anywhere near my throat/back of my tongue, I feel like I'm gonna throw up! Anyone else having this issue?!
Any recent/upcoming appointments? I have my first appointment with the OB this Friday for an US. Then back next week for all the blood work and pap and such.
Thoughts/Concerns?
Questions: As far as screening tests, what are everyone's thoughts on what to get? I'm deciding between NT and NIPT. I kind of want to do the NIPT to find out the gender sooner, but our insurance doesn't cover it, and DH says he's fine waiting until 20 week US to find out gender. Other than that, are both tests pretty similar? I mean, from what I can tell they are screening for the same things, right? Thanks for any input you have on these tests!
GTKY: Spring is here (kind of)! What are some of your favorite spring activities? What are you most looking forward to over the next 2 months? Definitely taking our dog Reese for walks. I also love going to visit Niagara Falls - about 30 minutes away from us and one of my favorite places in the world! We're also big into camping. We'll be going camping in Lake George for a long weekend in June with our neighbors, so really looking forward to that!

@mag1cbeli3ver I have the same issue with tooth paste gag. I think it is my alternative to morning sickness.
How far along are you? / EDD 7W2D/ Dec 15th
How are you feeling? I am feeling great, my breasts are sore for the past couple of days, I am still tired and sleepy all the time. But no morning sickness
Any recent/upcoming appointments? Not until May 9th for our last RE ultrasound and graduation appointment.
Thoughts/Concerns? I am still nervous about everything but trying to control myself a little better.
Questions: Do you guys have any suggestions for prenatal workouts?I do yoga 3 times a week and I run 2 times a week. But running is getting progressively harder so I need an alternative.
GTKY: Spring is here (kind of)! What are some of your favorite spring activities? What are you most looking forward to over the next 2 months? I am so excited about the weather finally getting warmer! I can't wait for grilling and hiking! DH and I are active so I hope I will still be able to hike and enjoy outside as much as possible.

@mag1cbeli3ver So jealous you are so close to the falls! I've been once and absolutely loved it - we aren't super far (we are in eastern pa, so about a 6 hour drive) so I've been hoping to convince my hubby to take a long weekend there at some point this summer!
@ChristenMA83 Good luck with the records going to the midwife, I really hope you are able to see them instead of your regular OB. We got lucky that there is a midwife group in our area that are certified nurse midwives and they work out of Einstein medical which is a great hospital group. So we are able to use the birthing center, as med free as we'd like (they will have the pain meds on hand if I change my mind) and there is a level 3 nicu right across the hall if its needed! Fingers crossed you are able to use the birthing center you had hoped for!!!
How far along are you? / EDD 8w 4d / 12/06 How are you feeling? Pretty good. Sore boobs is still my one and only symptom Any recent/upcoming appointments? Thurs with my RE and if all goes well, my first OB appt is on Fri Thoughts/Concerns? The lack of symptoms worries me. Of course I might be one of the lucky ones but because of everything I’ve been thru and the embryo measuring 4 days behind, I’m afraid.
Wed is my last day of estrogen pills. So of course I’m worried it’s a little too early. Questions: Can’t think of any... GTKY: Spring is here (kind of)! What are some of your favorite spring activities? What are you most looking forward to over the next 2 months? on 2 different weekends in the next 1.5 months I have good friends from back east that will spend the weekend with me. Really looking forward to that.
And on a different note. Just found out I owe close to $2000 to my clinic. I thought I only owe them $600. I really hope I will never have to pay again for IVF or FET!!!

@thothscribe81 Looking forward to your results Friday. Hope you can see a bit more in the ultrasound. There wasn't much to look at for us back at 7 weeks though.
@mag1cbeli3ver As far as testing, I didn't put much thought into it and we're just doing what our RE recommends. And I'm anxious to find out the sex as soon as possible, so I'm happy they recommended the one that gets me there.
@DecemberDoll27 No suggestions for workouts, but I'm interested to see other responses. I know BeachBody on demand has a few prenatal options I've been thinking about trying, mostly lightweight and body resistance movements as well as yoga and stretching.
@prudence9-2 oh, those surprise medical bills our the worst. Our RE billed ahead for everything....but I keep waiting to hear they miscalculated and we have some outrageous balance. We've had other related bills from labs and such trickle in though at $50 here and couple hundred there. It all adds up so fast. Between the medical bills and a December baby, our tax refund should be pretty nice next year.
@ChristenMA83 I really want to do natural birth with minimal intervention but I dont think hospitals here have birthing units. I believe I'll have to find a birthing center that is not too far from a hospital. I haven't visited any birthing place or the most popular hospital but was thinking maybe I'll start that research once I'm in the second trimester and see which one works for us the best. Good luck !
@mag1cbeli3ver not much help here. We did PGS testing so we already know the gender. As far as other tests go, I need to do a through research to see what's really needed. I'm an advocate of natural ways for everything so if something is not an absolute then I'll probably skip.
AFM How far along are you? / EDD: 7w5d
How are you feeling? Overall good. Some nausea kicked in last few days but eating constantly and using motion sickness wrist bands are helping a lot.
Any recent/upcoming appointments? Thursday is our 8w1d appointment to check the heartbeat again and the size I believe.
Thoughts/Concerns? Just want the time to pass faster. I feel like its craling and I want to be super pregnant and feel my baby's kicks
Questions:
GTKY: Spring is here (kind of)! What are some of your favorite spring activities? What are you most looking forward to over the next 2 months? I live in sunny southern California so spring was here when everyone else had winter. Its practically summer here and its HOT! I dont like heat especially when pregnant. I would definitely go on hikes but my RE forbids any sort of activity including walks. I cant wait to get to 12 weeks so I can start being active again.
@ilky one of the books I'm reading suggested it's never too early to start looking at birthing options (even before conception) so I embraced that advice and we've actually been on two tours - though I will admit I get some curious looks from the moms that are further along and the staff. There aren't any stand-alone birthing centers near me that I've been able to locate, but one of the many hospitals in the area has a natural birthing unit so that's my first pick. I love that it's attached to the hospital so if things were to escalate we're right there. DH isn't at all understanding why I want to go natural though and why I wouldn't just take all the meds - so I'm going to have to figure out how to help him understand.
@ChristenMA83 Have you watched The Business of Being Born? I showed bits of that to my husband and it helped him understand a lot more than he did before! The documentary focuses a lot on home birth but they do visit clinics that do midwife assisted hospital births. I don't think I'd be at all comfortable giving birth at home - the thought of being even 10 or 15 minutes away from help if I or the baby needed it scares me! - but I got a lot out of the points they made about natural birth that made me want to try what I can to be as drug free as possible. What I love about the practice I found is that their philosophy is that all birth is "natural" so if you get to the birth center and are into things and despite everything decide you just want the epidural or whatever, they are happy to provide it. They just give you the tools to attempt to go as drug/intervention free as possible so you can get the most out of the experience
@ChristenMA83 I don’t think that at this stage I can even think that far. But it’s good that you’re doing all the research as you know what you want!

I had an appointment with a high risk doctor this morning (which I forgot to mention above) to talk about a kidney condition I have, possibly from birth. I have hydronephrosis on both kidneys but never had issues. Upon reading that pregnant women can get this condition due to pregnancy I was scared mine would get worse. He was really reassuring that he doesnt think it would become a problem and that he'll monitor me and the baby once every 4 weeks. As a bonus, they did an ultrasound and the HB was 175 (at 7w6d)! I was not expecting another ultrasound but definitely so happy everything looks good.
@Ilky Glad you were able to get some reassurance! Sounds like everything should be fine. Also, super jealous you got another peak at your baby bean!! Glad everything looks good!

Thank you lovelies. I will see the high risk doctor throughout the pregnancy in addition to my regular OB. I have my first appointment scheduled for next week before 9 week mark. I am still under the care of the RE until the 13th week and he does weekly ultrasounds and checks for progesterone levels. I feel like I've been getting too many ultrasounds and think it probably is not a good idea. But, RE insists on doing them. Ugh! I hope it wont harm my gummy bear...
@Ilky you should consider yourself lucky! And no, it doesn’t hurt your lil gummy bear

@Ilky yay for reassurance and surprise ultrasounds. I was on weekly monitoring, but now it's two weeks until my next peak Guess I need to get used to the longer stretches between ultrasounds.
@ChristenMA83 thanks! some people buy home Doppler to check on the baby, personally I wouldn't buy as it would drive me nuts if I didn't hear the HB because I didnt put it right, etc. Would you consider getting one?

Sooo this may be a repeat for some of you... I actually posted this on last week's check in. I am so scatter brained right now! Pregnancy brain? Sleep deprivation? New business? Being sick? Who knows, probably all of the above. Any who, if you read this already feel free to skip to the next post. Happy Friday everyone!
How far along are you? / EDD 12 weeks 1 day! November 15
How are you feeling? Morning sickness is getting better however I have had a brutal cough for 3 weeks now --- going to see my pulmonologist today. Hoping it's just a long, lingering cold and not related to my sarcoid (auto immune disease that effects the lungs). On top of that, I am just getting over a stomach bug! Oh and my new business launched this week --- clothing for babies and toddlers I would tell you guys about it but I am afraid I will get kicked off the Bump for solicitation. If you're curious, just message me
Any recent/upcoming appointments? Not until May 22. I will see my high risk OB and have a quick US in his office, not a formal one in radiology.
Thoughts/Concerns? It hurts to sneeze sometimes. I mean like reallllllly hurts. Like the muscles below my belly button are going to snap. I am also still working on getting my appetite back. I can't really eat or drink much all morning, come the afternoon I am STARVING. And I HATE water! I want nothing to do with it. Which makes this whole 'you must drink a gallon of water a day' think really difficult. I just want lemonade. All. Day.
Questions: Anyone else struggling to eat healthy? Exercise? I am having a hard time living a healthy lifestyle and I know during the first trimester you kind of get a free pass to do whatever makes you feel best but I still feel like garbage!
GTKY: Spring is here (kind of)! What are some of your favorite spring activities? What are you most looking forward to over the next 2 months? I love just being outside! Hiking, biking, walking, going to the beach. Hoping that once my cough is better that I can get back to some regular exercise again. I am struggling to walk a mile around the block right now and I used to be able to run 3 miles easily. Just don't have it in me lately.
Had my second US today! Posted a pic in the US December 2018 board :-) Measuring just around 5 weeks 6 days which matches my 5 weeks 5 days timing based on when we had sex and when I think I ovulated. He saw the beginnings of the fetal pole but no fetal heartbeat so far, he said I'm probably about a day or so from picking up on that, ahhhhh! I have another appt. next Friday and will definitely see/hear the heartbeat then! I'm a little disappointed we didn't see it today but i knew chances were extremely slim considering how early it is! But we got another pic of our little bean and I'm relieved to know that we are measuring right on schedule! Hopefully in another 3 weeks or so we will graduate from our RE and we will at that point start telling family and friends! This whole "keeping it a secret" thing is getting OLD lol.
@thothscribe81 congrats on a great appointment today! I know it's sooooo hard to keep pregnancy a secret, especially when it's such an exciting time! But three weeks will hopefully fly by for you!

I just got a call from a random doctor's office that they got my medical records. My RE office sent them to the wrong place which explains why the midwives haven't called to schedule with me. Random office is going to get them to the right practice. The week I requested my records the normal front desk people were out at a conference so it was a little hectic and I'm not surprised there was a mix up.
Re: 1st Trimester check-in | w/o April 30th

How are you feeling?
@thothscribe81 It's hard to get comfortable with the coming/going of symptoms! I'm glad you seem to be at that point already! Hoping it brings you less stress and worrying!
How far along are you? / EDD
9 weeks 2 days / Dec.
Questions:
As far as screening tests, what are everyone's thoughts on what to get?

Thoughts/Concerns?
The lack of symptoms worries me. Of course I might be one of the lucky ones but because of everything I’ve been thru and the embryo measuring 4 days behind, I’m afraid.
Wed is my last day of estrogen pills. So of course I’m worried it’s a little too early.

on 2 different weekends in the next 1.5 months I have good friends from back east that will spend the weekend with me. Really looking forward to that.
And on a different note. Just found out I owe close to $2000 to my clinic. I thought I only owe them $600. I really hope I will never have to pay again for IVF or FET!!!

@mag1cbeli3ver not much help here. We did PGS testing so we already know the gender. As far as other tests go, I need to do a through research to see what's really needed. I'm an advocate of natural ways for everything so if something is not an absolute then I'll probably skip.

How far along are you? / EDD
12 weeks 1 day!
Oh and my new business launched this week --- clothing for babies and toddlers
All. Day.
Questions:
Anyone else struggling to eat healthy?
