Appts this coming week? Newp! But I should be able to call and get the AFP results from last week.
How're you feeling this week? Pretty good. Making progress with things around the house a bit, whittling down and sharing the registry, assembling my pumping supplies etc. I am going to have to get more comfortable work shoes for spring though, because my feet have really been killing me, and try to hit the gym a few more times this week...
GTKY: Spring Cleaning is upon us! Any cleaning hacks to share? Favourite (or least favourite) springtime chores? Progress or Before/After pics welcome!
I sure do love it when it's done! LOL I am not the best with this stuff, because I tend to accumulate clutter and have a hard time letting it go. :# but DH can pretty ruthless once he gets going, so hopefully we balance each other out a bit. It did feel pretty good to drop off FIVE bags of clothing donations last week!
One tip I've found immensely satisfying in the kitchen, especially, is the toothpick trick. I use a regular toothpick to get the grime out from around the edges of the countertop, toaster oven, coffee maker, any appliance with tiny crevices. Omg, it works like a charm and everything just feels cleaner once that's done.
Also, DH can't handle it is the onion smell stays on the cutting board, and then you cut a piece of fruit or something? I mean it is yucky, but whatever. Baking soda. After cutting onions or garlic, every so often I scrub it with a little baking soda and water, and the yucky flavour comes right out!
Appts this coming week? A standard OB check up tomorrow morning. FX it is super boring and uneventful. We will be scheduling my next ultrasound for probably 27 weeks and my glucose screening test.
How're you feeling this week? Good so far but I'm sure my back will start acting up again this afternoon.
GTKY: Spring Cleaning is upon us! Any cleaning hacks to share? We are moving in mid-June so I am combining spring cleaning with moving prep. We already did a clean out of clothes and I'm tackling the bathrooms this weekend. I read The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up earlier this year which has made it much easier to toss what doesn't 'spark joy'.
Where is everyone nursery furniture shopping? I don't need a lot - just a simple crib and a dresser but I will need to coordinate the delivery and maybe assembly for after the move. Why are furniture store cribs so much more expensive than what I would get at Buy Buy Baby? Are they significantly better quality? We want a convertible so I need something that will stand the test of time but I don't want to spend a lot more than I need to.

How far along? 22 weeks 4 days Appts this coming week? Not until next Wednesday. How're you feeling this week? I figured out the heartburn issue only to now be right smack in the middle of the fun of hemorrhoids (sorry if TMI). I've had them before years ago but they're back with a vengeance. They do run in my family (as well as varicose veins) so I'm not surprised, but still annoying to have them in the second tri. GTKY: Spring Cleaning is upon us! Any cleaning hacks to share? Favourite (or least favourite) springtime chores? Sadly enough, the Norwex glass cleaning cloth actually does work REALLY WELL. I hate when I actually like someone's pyramid scheme product, but they work with just water and I'm sold! Windows are my least favorite thing to clean (second least fave? Mini blinds.) I am also a huge fan of Mr. Clean Magic Erasers for grout.
Definitely will hook y'all up with a bump shot this week. I've been so lazy about it!
@laurad75 We got our crib and dresser from Walmart. They're Delta Children brand, which is sold all over, and delivery was free. DH will be putting the pieces together, however Our rocking chair/recliner (La-Z-Boy) came from a local family-owned furniture store and our rug is a Wayfair buy. We also have one of those six-opening shelves that you can put the fabric boxes in from Target, which is inside her closet because we have so little wall space. Hopefully photos coming in the next few weeks as we put everything together!
@laurad75 we got everything from Ikea. The crib converts and we bought a regular dresser, just put a changing pad and frame to hold it on top. Hopefully this let's us use everything for a long time! Crib, rocking chair, dresser, changing pad, sheets, organizer, and rug - basically the whole nursery- for about $1k
Just checking in to say best wishes to you ladies in your 2nd trimester and I will see you soon on the 3rd trimester board.... things just got real for me!
How far along? 26 weeks and 2 days. I can't believe I am now at the top of the 2nd tri board. I feel like I just joined! Appts this coming week? None this week. Next is an ultrasound on May 23rd. How're you feeling this week? I'm feeling really good! Glucose and iron tests turned out great. I haven't been swelling and constipation is so much better. Tums has helped my heartburn. I'm a little uncomfortable sleeping so pregnancy pillow all day. Emotionally, I get mad so easily. I am really trying to work on that. GTKY: Spring Cleaning is upon us! Any cleaning hacks to share? Favourite (or least favourite) springtime chores? Progress or Before/After pics welcome! Yard work. Bleh! I worked on the nursery this weekend. Pic in spoiler. Shelves are from IKEA. I am going to paint the inside of the closet because i want it to be white. I am also in the market for some curtains instead of doors. Let me know if you have any ideas.

I am hoping once I quit my job that I will have more time to do projects, but right now I have to work during my sons naps. Appts this coming week?
3hr glucose test on Friday
How're you feeling this week? Actually decent, considering. Along with failing my 1hr glucose screen I
saw in my chart that I’m anemic…funny the nurse didn’t mention that. I’m not surprised though I haven’t been tolerant
of meat so my protein intake has been pitiful.
Possible TMI…I think I have mastered the art of keeping things “moving”
I switched up my breakfast last week to green smoothies with a scoop of
miralax. I also got these little
individual trail mix packs of Omega Trek Mix for snacks. I’m not sure which one is helping or if it’s
both but my bathroom life has significantly improved.
GTKY: Spring Cleaning is upon us! Any cleaning
hacks to share? Favourite (or least favourite) springtime chores?
Progress or Before/After pics welcome!
My favorite hack is to hire someone else to do it! But seriously I stink at spring cleaning. We did a cleanup of the yard outside this
weekend it looks a ton better but I was a real spoiled sport about it, and to
be honest I barely did anything. My best
tip for inside cleaning is start with the tossing/donating. Before I clean ANYTHING I go through the
house with black and white garbage bags.
The big black ones I use for things that are broken no one else would
want, and the white ones are for goodwill.
Then on a separate weekend I do the organization/bins/labeling
adventure, then on the third weekend is the deep clean everything. To be honest though I must have missed the
memo sometime on spring cleaning because this has always been a fall
ritual with me, we do a huge friendsgiving and many friends stay over from out of town so that's always my motivation. Once the weather is semi
nice the last place I want to be is inside.
Of course there are the two rooms in my house that have not been subject
to the annual purge…the two unfinished rooms in the basement (one is laundry
and one is storage). I do have a goal of
tackling those before baby makes the debut but I would likely be too embarrassed
to share before pictures…it's like some other hoarder family lives in those rooms...lol.

@businesswife congrats on sharing the registry. I still have yet to finish mine but I gave myself
a deadline of two week. I just keep changing my mind on everything! Also I second your toothpick trick. It’s also really great for the space between
the countertop and the stove!
@laurad75 we got our crib from BRU during the close out
sales but I got our dresser and a nightstand (currently used as a side table
for the glider) at IKEA Hemmes 8-drawer dresser $249, and IKEA Hemnes 2-drawer
chest $79. The whites don’t match 100%
exactly but it doesn’t bother me and I’m typically picky about that sort of
thing. They are super functional. Amazon/Wayfair have lots of convertible cribs
that are affordable prices. I was going
to go with them before we got the sale at BRU.
Personally I figure babies/kids don’t need super fancy furniture. I personally like putting together IKEA furniture
but if you are moving I imagine you already have your hands full. They do offer a service now where they will deliver
it and put it together for you.
@sarcasticowl I hate windows too especially outside. Someone once told me for outside windows if
you get a spray bottle hose attachment and add jetclean (like from your
dishwasher). It does an amazing job and you don’t have to dry them. I’ve never tried it but I’m planning to this
year.
@cseley321 best wishes in 3rd trimester
land! See you soon!
@Irisheyes81 my temper was awful on Saturday morning then I
was crying for most of Saturday afternoon.
Hormones are no joke! Also that
little lamb in front of you closet is so flippin cute! I have a mini version of your cube storage in
my closet too. I think doing the
curtains for closet doors is a great idea.
Our closet door hits the door to the room I think I might go that route
too.
@chicandbubbly in addition to the profession for the deep
clean did you have someone come to clean the house afterwards? I’m not too worried about before baby but I’m
worried about keeping up after baby and when my house is messy I get
anxious/crabby/stressed/crazy which probably won’t be a great addition on top
of sleep deprivation and turning my world upside down with a newborn

How far along? 17+5 Appts this coming week? Does a massage count? I’m sooo excited! How're you feeling this week? Not bad, just waiting for the tail end of the allergy/cold/cough to go away! GTKY: Spring Cleaning is upon us! Any cleaning hacks to share? Favourite (or least favourite) springtime chores? Progress or Before/After pics welcome! Oh man. I try to do a deep clean every 3 months, with things on rotation so they never get too bad. It’s working okay. I’m a fan of the vinegar with a couple drops of essential oils for washing walls/stair banisters. They say I discovered banisters actually got dirty was a sad day.
@businesswife trying the toothpick thing the next time I clean the kitchen! Why do they keep installing kitchen tiles with grout? So annoying.
How far along? 17+2 Appts this coming week? Nope How're you feeling this week? I still feel good, physically. My hips are starting to hurt at night when I'm in bed. I feel like it's really early for painful joints. Is anyone else experiencing this? Wondering if they are getting wider... GTKY: Spring Cleaning is upon us! Any cleaning hacks to share? Favourite (or least favourite) springtime chores? Progress or Before/After pics welcome! Blinds take the cake for least favorite. I've found a few homemade cleaning products that work really well for me. I also clean with vinegar and some essential oil (lemon), but I add plenty of water and lemon oil because my husband hates vinegar smell. It's a great window/shower glass/mirror cleaner! Seriously, I think it works better than store bought. You just have to make sure you are wiping it off well. On the tub floor, I sprinkle baking soda and then spray Method or another green-ish cleaner, then scrub with a scrubby sponge. It's the only thing that cleaned stains off when we used to rent. We also collect soap scum on the glass shower door. I spray water/vinegar/Dawn soap on it and let it sit, then rinse with water. Then I dry it off and use the homemade mirror cleaner. Apparently I've just been waiting for an opportunity to share my cleaning tips! Thanks! @BusinessWife, does "green" mean you aren't finding out the sex of the baby? If so, I'm green!

@klyn7 yes! Team Green is finding out when the baby is born! So much fun. ;) where do you get the lemon oil? Is it literally just an essential oil? I don't have a product I love for general surfaces, and I feel like that would be good for us, bc DH hates the vinegar smell, too. I have definitely been dealing with all the soreness and aches and pains since hitting second tri, too. I think it's just part of the process...
@Irisheyes81 I cannot believe you are next to move onto third tri, either! I am happy for everyone, bit it's bittersweet, too. I am one of the weirdos who has really been enjoying pregnancy (especially after the battleground that was IF) and I guess if I'm honest, I'm a little nervous about the whole outside-tiny-human part that comes next. Which is the whole point! Lol but I know it's a big change, so yeah.
@laurad75 Ours is a davinci brand, I think from Target, but they seem to have that brand a lot of places. It also converts to a twin and looks like it shoukd sort of match the other furniture we need to get (like our own queen bedframe, dressers, nightstands etc from joss and main / wayfair), so hopefully the twin will serve us well in the future, too!
@2MomsHoping omg, that was us a couple weeks ago, with the bags. Five went to donate so far, and I can't even tell you how much garbage / recycling! Yikes! :# ikwym about not wanting to be indoors when it's finally getting nice out tho. Luckily for us, the weather's still been so crappy, for one lol but for me, just getting the windows open, that fresh air and sunshine coming in makes me want to clear out all the cobwebs and junk, and let things breathe again! :D. Plus, getting ready for the baby is added incentive.
Hi All! Spring has sprung here in New York, it's such a great feeling!
21+1, no appointments this week (but trying to get to yoga tonight!). Feeling pretty good, although I've been waking up in the middle of the night with heartburn, but I'm usually able to fall back to sleep after taking a gelusil.
I have no good cleaning tips, but DH is away for a bachelor party this weekend so I'll be doing a major deep clean, getting rid of tons of clothes and switching my closet from winter to summer!
Question for everyone...has anyone painted a nursery (or really any room) yellow, and have recommendations as far as color? We've started getting samples and painting patches, but so far haven't found the right one yet. We're doing yellow walls, white trim and furniture will be gray.

@sarzee2. We recently did our dining room in SW Compatible Cream. It's a great soft yellow that's not too bright! No. 6387. But do make sure you try it on the walls in your space first, and make sure it works for you! Lighting and that can really make a big difference, but I think usually the tough thing with yellow is it's easy to have it go way over the top and look like, schools yellow or way too bright crayola yellow lol. Compatible Cream worked really well for us to tone down a much darker yellow that had been there previously.
Someone is smiling down on me today. My favorite daycare we were on the waitlist
for (until estimated June 2019!) called me today. They are changing the age range they serve
and as a result they are closing the 6yr old classroom to open a second infant
classroom and asking if we wanted a spot. UMM HECK YEAH! I couldn’t give her my credit card number
fast enough for the deposit. Such a
weight off these shoulders.
@laurad75 I really like that nursery furniture! I’m glad your appointment was uneventful and
you will be seeing the nephrologist.
Knowing what’s going to happen and having a plan is so good for the
nerves.
@sarzee2 I think yellow is a tough color we were originally going
to do that but all the yellows I liked just seemed too bright for the whole
room. We actually ended up buying a
little bedding set on clearance I LOVED and we are lifting the colors off that
for the walls and a mural in the room. I
liked the aqua in it for the walls and we will do accents of the yellow, but it’s
not a true yellow. I’ve have about zero
eye for color so I like to lift color themes for a room off an item
(picture/blanket/etc) that had several colors I also like to google/pintrest
color pallets using the main color I want.
I put in the spoiler a color pallet I found for what our colors will
look like. We will be adding more
variations of lighter grey though, and quite a bit of white thrown in. One of my favorite joys in life is bringing
something in and having the paint guys magically duplicate it.

Hi guys, I haven't had a chance to catch up on all the posts yet, so sorry for not responding. Had a very challenging week but we made it through!
How far along? 22 weeks
Appts this coming week? Had follow up appointment today after surgery last wednesday. I have been on bed rest this last week recovering and it has been very challenging. I was so nervous but everything is fine. The cerclage and 200mg progesterone suppositories every night worked well and my cervix is measuring correctly and closed now at around 40 cm. The baby was just fine and we could see his little teeth buds today. He was moving around and flipped back right side up which the doctor said is good because his legs can rest up higher on my hip bones. I was so worried and praying the whole time took a lot of guts. The other great news is I am now cleared for 'home work' which means I can get up and walk around, cook, sit at my desk or stand and be more normal. I can drive also not a ton but here and there so that is good. Probably still can't go out shopping or deliberately exersize but I am happy with it. Doctor asked me what I do for a living and I told him I can work at home so he suggested I take full advantage of that. So from here on out I am just going to tell my clients I have to do skype or facetime meetings and can't go out. We had to go to the same hospital the doctor that did the surgery was at and was very hard to find his office. But the lady at the desk gave me a wheelchair and my husband wheeled me through the skywalk to the next building over and we found the office on time. We ended up going in the childrens hospital entrance and so my butt barely fit in the wheelchair hah.
How're you feeling this week? I'm okay, I'm so thankful and I am in a much better mood. The anxiety and fighting off depression has been very challenging. My biggest problem is currently going #2 the pain meds made me very constipated for several days and I had to take colace, benefiber and miralax to go again. Then yesterday I went too many times but still wasn't too bad. Haven't gone today and about to take some more miralax. I am also still taking tylenol every 6 hours and the doctor said I can continue to take the pm ones at night as well to sleep. Thank goodness because without a lot of exersize I am having a hard time sleeping.
GTKY: Spring Cleaning is upon us! Any cleaning hacks to share? Favourite (or least favourite) springtime chores? Progress or Before/After pics welcome! Well we have had to clean out and re-arrange several closets to make room for the baby nursery and play room. It has been very nice to get rid of things we don't need and I always feel good making more usable space and having less clutter. One thing that I saw on several pinterest posts was to take the doors off our closet and use it as additional space for our playroom. I got a couple nice looking ikea shelves with pretty storage bins that we are setting up in there and leaving room also for just general toys and stuff. It has really made the room seem larger and we were able to fit the small couch and daybed in the room without having to deal with the closet sliding doors sticking out. Really glad I found that hack! My husband made progress on the nursery this weekend, built the dresser (changing table) and painted blue stripes on the wall. It is looking like it is taking shape! And thank goodness he had built the daybed and we had the new tv/playroom set up before my surgery. I have been able to sit in there during the day and watch tv and be on the computer and not feel like I am in bed all day. It has really helped me not get depressed.
Hi ladies 22+3 today. No appointments! Feeling pretty good and loving feeling this little kick here and there.
I’m so incredibly busy at work so my anxiety is high and i ended up getting up for the day at 4:30am after lying awake for an hour so I’m exhausted. Also I was prepping a client who at my office w/ her husband, couple in their 50s, who were happily surprised by my belly (most of my client contact is phone/email until we go to a hearing). I always feel compelled to explain how grateful and blessed I am b/c we struggled/thought it wouldn’t happen etc etc. About 30 min in we were discussing how she just started seeing a psych & why and the. her husband added that also they had tried to have chilfdren and were not blessed. I immediately had a lump in my throat and offered my condolences. Somehow I got through the rest of the meeting but broke down bawling after they left and it’s just stuck with me all day.
Cleaning- we put new carpets in our 2 extra bedrooms so I had to empty them completely for that to happen so I have unloaded a ton of stuff and it feels so good! I suck at cleaning though. @2MomsHoping I started having someone come in to clean 1x/month when I got pregnant. Your job sounds as demanding as mine and sometimes you just have to pick your battles. It really helps me stay on top of things and I let her do the scrubbing!

@klyn7 I'm having the same issues with my hips- 16+5. It's on both sides RIGHT on the hip joint and started about a week ago. It's super painful right on the spot, and then radiates down a little into my leg. I've always had various hip issues so I suspected this would happen but not this early and it's the first time I've ever had joint pain, it's usually been muscular! I've been stretching a lot and am now starting to add ice on the regular but nothing seems to have made a huge impact yet!

@hottietoddy so glad to hear that you are continuing to do
ok after surgery and are able to start some light activity at home. Girl I’m telling you adding the miralax into
a smoothie has been LIFE CHANGING for me.
I’ve been doing it for a little over a week but I don’t feel as bloated,
I’m regular, and no more struggling if you know what I mean. I’ve been doing a handful of spinach with about
a 1/2-3/4 cup almond milk (with the mirilax mixed in), a couple cubes of full
fat yogurt (I got a big tub of full fat plain and froze it in an ice cube tray),
½ a frozen banana, and about a 1/2cup-3/4 cup of whatever frozen berries bag I
grab first. This is much better than my
previous standard pregnancy bagel breakfast and, very easy if you need
something transportable. Also uber impressed that you are taking on the
start of a play room. I’m thinking I’m
not going to even attempt that until toys are so over my floor that I stub my
toe that one last time that sends me into a fit of rage all the way to ikea!
@lablover78 I also always feel the need to explain with my
pregnancy too. I tend to say something
vauge like it’s was a long road and we are so happy. I can only imagine getting a response like
that. Even just reading your post I
thought about everything myself and how freaking lucky I am to be having this
baby that I never really thought could come, and knowing how happy I am so so
so sad for those that are still waiting and trying or those who will never get their
miracle baby. It’s just too much so much
gratefulness and sadness all in one. Don’t
mind me, just a little something in my eye over here. Sniffle Sniffle.
AFM, I had a bit of a scare yesterday but everything is
ok. Details in spoiler because of
Trigger Warning. Questions for those who
have suffered from anxiety.
I had some bleeding yesterday. I haven’t had any spotting at all until
yesterday and I did not exactly handle it calmly. I basically ran from the bathroom down 8
flights of stairs to avoid the elevator and went to the alley behind the
building to get what passes for privacy downtown and called DW to calm down enough
so I could call the OB. The OB office
was extremely nice, basically told me to monitor it drink some water to try to
feel the baby move, she said a little bleeding is normal but if I’m still
scared after an hour this is no problem to come in and ease my mind. She was so reassuring and wonderful. She even called back in about an hour to
check up on me which I thought was super nice and by that time the bleeding had
stopped and I had felt my little one wiggling around. So everything was ok. I really think I might have had an anxiety
attack, I’ve never had one before but the circumstances around seeing the blood
may have also made it work for me. It was
the about the same amount and I saw it in the same stall as when I started
bleeding after my first chemical pregnancy and I just kinda instantly lost it.
I felt like I couldn’t breath or cry but was kinda doing both a lot. I felt frozen but at the same time I was
running out of there it was so weird I was totally out of control. I just felt like the bottom fell out and my
brain went straight to the worst case scenario kind of over nothing. I’m a generally high strung worry wart but I
have never totally lost it like. I
usually can calm myself down, with some breathing and self-talk but honestly
there was no time for reasoning I went from 0 to 60 instantly and it was scary
to be spinning out of control.
Especially when logically I do know that a little bit of spotting is
quite normal. Anyone else have this
happen? Or how to deal?

@2MomsHoping sorry girl that does sound like an anxiety attack. It is totally reasonable given the circumstances and aside from breathing, self-talk you can try some ground exercises that include snapping an elastic against your wrist, kicking off your shoe to feel your foot physically on the ground, Notice your hands are they clenched? If so try to loosen them and just remember it will pass. I’m so sorry that’s scary- hugs!
On a lighter note I am your breakfast twin- pre-pg I had a similar smoothie daily and I am totally going to try got Miralax!! Now I have to have a bagel everyday or I feel like I’ll eat my hand off. Is the miralax those powder packets?

@2MomsHoping Woah, that is SO scary. You handled it about as well as any of us would have, so don’t beat yourself up too much. I’m glad everything is okay! Can’t say I’ve had any spotting but I definitely check all the time, so I’m hyper aware of everything going on down there.
@2MomsHoping. Glad everything is okay, and so sorry for the scare! That does not sound like fun, but that is awesome how your nurse talked you down ans followed up, too. (((Hugs)))
As to the pregnancy convo, @lablover78 I had a recent experience, almost the reverse, but coming from a similar place. I have told a handful of clients at work, now that I'm rounding out a bit (! Lol), but I was caught off guard I guess when one girl coming in with a business deposit says, "I hear Congratulations are in order...!!!" And I was just stunned, and like, "oh, oh, yes, Becca must have told you, yes! Thank you!" And then like, couldn't say anything more and almost burst into tears right there! Omg, not my finest, but in that moment, my head was just racing with all the things - what do you say!!!?? "Yes, we're so grateful," "Yes, it was a struggle, so we're especially happy," etc. Idk. So I just like, choked up, and then she asked me when we were due and mercifully sort of moved the (brief) conversation forward for me. Omg.
@2momshoping so sorry for the scare! I am glad your nurse was helpful and reassuring and hopefully you won't have it happen again.
I had my anatomy scan today and everything thankfully looked great and baby girl is right on track! She was a little gymnast in there with her feet above her head the whole time it was too funny. My blood pressure was a little high so they are going to be monitoring it. I think it might have been from nerves though so hopefully it will be fine my next appt!

Thank you so much @2MomsHoping. I am sorry you had a scare, I didn't read the details as usual due to my anxiety struggles but caught the gist and here for support. I am so glad you are okay and it doesn't happen again. Might be good to work on some techniques to stay calm as well like @lablover78 suggested or others. You just have to find what works for you. I am not a super religious person but I am Christian. I have identified with agnostic in the past and do still a bit, but I don't feel it hurts to think about god and positive things. My husband is athiest, but even he understands and supports me. I have been reading positive thinking books this last week and it has helped me tremendously. One that I have read is based in Christianity and it is called 'The Power of Positive Thinking' by Norman Vincent Peale. It can be cheesy, but I have found it has gotten me through. I say positive things over and over in my head to get through when challenges arise. My mom brought over several other books as well and I plan to keep up the reading until I have baby and after. Even if you aren't into the Christianity part, positive thinking can really help. I started with affirmations and still do those as well.
Yeah Miralax is a miracle! haha I took benefiber twice yesterday and it worked so I'm trying that again today. Thank goodness for both of those. The heartburn has also started even after a yogurt or snack. I've been downing tums and almost through a whole bottle. lol They work alright so that is good at least and I don't have it too bad from what I've heard of others.
@BusinessWife and @lablover78 I hear ya on the being caught off guard by pregnancy conversations. I've had three friends tell me about some serious issues others had in pregnancy and with newborn the last two days. Typically this might throw me off for weeks, but I have made it through. It is good to know if a friend is going through something so I appreciate the info so I can be supportive and careful what I say. It also helps to know others have been through challenges and made it through. I politely tell people that I am thinking of them, will pray for them and then I tell them I cannot get into discussing the details with them due to struggles with anxiety. My MIL and one of my friends tend to use me like a sounding board and therapist fill in and I have had to set clear boundaries that I don't want to discuss certain things with them. My one friend will keep going a little still even here and there and it is very challenging to me. But, I just try and keep up the boundaries and have a boiler plate response set up for when I need to politely ask them to say no. Then I have also just gotten up a few times and excused myself from the conversation. I asked one girl not to discuss her hard labor with me at a party and she stopped but then started into it again later. I went and got a drink and excused myself until she stopped.
Thankful for all you ladies/ friends on here! I am hoping the end of this week and weekend are uneventful and peaceful for us! One day at a time and they slowly come together to make weeks and we are all inching closer! This is all going to be worth it once we have our babies soon. They are talking of me having the boy at 37 weeks now, and that is only 14 and a half weeks away! If I think of it like that, doesn't seem that much longer...
@labover78 thanks for the tips, I’ve been doing ok. Fortunately
no more scares and if it does happen again I’m hoping to be able to calm myself
down a little better. I actually checked
out what I’m using an its not miralax after all…woops. It’s actually the target brand version of Metamucil. It came in a tub and I just scoop a rounded
tablespoon out each morning. Sometimes I’ll
take a second dose in the evening and just have it with some water if I feel
like I need it. It tastes kind of like orange
drink mix, but not overpowering. Bagels were
and are my savior during the nausea days, and its developed into a bit of a bad
habit for me. I’ve been pretty lucky
that the ravenous part of pregnancy hasn’t caught up to me. I’m half expecting to turn into a human
garbage disposal for the third trimester.
Also super cute bump!
@sarcasticowl thank you for making me feel better. Sometimes when I freak out it’s hard not to
just give myself a pass sometimes. We
have all been through so much and sometimes I forget to give myself a pass when
that history rears its head in my reactions.
@businesswife thank you for the support. I don’t think I would have made it without DW
and that awesome nurse being calm and compassionate. So lucky!
Also cute bump and kudos on the workout!
@chicandbubbly thank you for the kind works. So happy your anatomy scan went well. I hope the high blood pressure was just the excitement
of the day and getting so see your perfect little girl.
@hottietoddy thank you for the affirmations
suggestions. I found those very calming
and helpful and staying positive during my ivf cycles I don’t know why I haven’t been using them
now! I hope your heartburn gets better
soon and only 14.5 weeks left for you?!?! Holy cow that does seem like a blink
of an eye. I’m still finding it hard to believe
that before summers end there will be a real live new human for our little
family. So surreal!
AFM, just finished up my 3hr glucose. I'm hoping they will call me with results this afternoon because I don't want to wait/worry over the weekend. Still keeping my fingers crossed and hoping I pass.

GL with the 3 hr @2MomsHoping Did it come back okay?
I was starting to get a little concerned myself, since I know I have about 6 more weeks till my glucose test, so we did a little impromptu glucose test of our own this morning with DHs tester. Which thankfully I did "pass" ...and he DID not lol, so I guess for the time being, I don't yet have diabetes! ...but he still does. :/ Womp.
Re: 2nd Trimester Check-in w/o April 30th
*autocorrect is my arch-nemesis...

Appts this coming week?
@laurad75 this time around the crib is from Wayfair and I want to get the Hemnes dresser from Ikea..
My son's crib and dresser were from Target.
How far along? 18 weeks, 1 day
Appts this coming week? I had my OB appt today, quick appt! Weds is my anatomy scan! I am really praying and hoping everything will go well. I can't wait to see baby girl moving around in there it has been awhile. With my son every ultrasound had something else so I am hoping this time everything will be very uneventful!!
How're you feeling this week? Feeling so great this week, I had some back pain last week but a visit to the Chiropractor helped with that!
GTKY: Spring Cleaning is upon us! Any cleaning hacks to share? Favourite (or least favourite) springtime chores? Oh man my project list is 100 pages long lol. I am hoping once I quit my job that I will have more time to do projects, but right now I have to work during my sons naps. I would highly recommend having a professional clean your house a bit before your due date- I had my house cleaned before DS was born and it was SOOO nice to have the deep cleaning done when I had a newborn!
How far along? 25 weeks!!! So excited
Time is flying
Appts this coming week? 3hr glucose test on Friday
How're you feeling this week? Actually decent, considering. Along with failing my 1hr glucose screen I saw in my chart that I’m anemic…funny the nurse didn’t mention that. I’m not surprised though I haven’t been tolerant of meat so my protein intake has been pitiful. Possible TMI…I think I have mastered the art of keeping things “moving” I switched up my breakfast last week to green smoothies with a scoop of miralax. I also got these little individual trail mix packs of Omega Trek Mix for snacks. I’m not sure which one is helping or if it’s both but my bathroom life has significantly improved.
GTKY: Spring Cleaning is upon us! Any cleaning hacks to share? Favourite (or least favourite) springtime chores? Progress or Before/After pics welcome!
My favorite hack is to hire someone else to do it! But seriously I stink at spring cleaning. We did a cleanup of the yard outside this weekend it looks a ton better but I was a real spoiled sport about it, and to be honest I barely did anything. My best tip for inside cleaning is start with the tossing/donating. Before I clean ANYTHING I go through the house with black and white garbage bags. The big black ones I use for things that are broken no one else would want, and the white ones are for goodwill. Then on a separate weekend I do the organization/bins/labeling adventure, then on the third weekend is the deep clean everything. To be honest though I must have missed the memo sometime on spring cleaning because this has always been a fall ritual with me, we do a huge friendsgiving and many friends stay over from out of town so that's always my motivation. Once the weather is semi nice the last place I want to be is inside. Of course there are the two rooms in my house that have not been subject to the annual purge…the two unfinished rooms in the basement (one is laundry and one is storage). I do have a goal of tackling those before baby makes the debut but I would likely be too embarrassed to share before pictures…it's like some other hoarder family lives in those rooms...lol.

@businesswife congrats on sharing the registry. I still have yet to finish mine but I gave myself a deadline of two week. I just keep changing my mind on everything! Also I second your toothpick trick. It’s also really great for the space between the countertop and the stove!
@laurad75 we got our crib from BRU during the close out sales but I got our dresser and a nightstand (currently used as a side table for the glider) at IKEA Hemmes 8-drawer dresser $249, and IKEA Hemnes 2-drawer chest $79. The whites don’t match 100% exactly but it doesn’t bother me and I’m typically picky about that sort of thing. They are super functional. Amazon/Wayfair have lots of convertible cribs that are affordable prices. I was going to go with them before we got the sale at BRU. Personally I figure babies/kids don’t need super fancy furniture. I personally like putting together IKEA furniture but if you are moving I imagine you already have your hands full. They do offer a service now where they will deliver it and put it together for you.
@sarcasticowl I hate windows too especially outside. Someone once told me for outside windows if you get a spray bottle hose attachment and add jetclean (like from your dishwasher). It does an amazing job and you don’t have to dry them. I’ve never tried it but I’m planning to this year.
@cseley321 best wishes in 3rd trimester land! See you soon!
@Irisheyes81 my temper was awful on Saturday morning then I was crying for most of Saturday afternoon. Hormones are no joke! Also that little lamb in front of you closet is so flippin cute! I have a mini version of your cube storage in my closet too. I think doing the curtains for closet doors is a great idea. Our closet door hits the door to the room I think I might go that route too.
@chicandbubbly in addition to the profession for the deep clean did you have someone come to clean the house afterwards? I’m not too worried about before baby but I’m worried about keeping up after baby and when my house is messy I get anxious/crabby/stressed/crazy which probably won’t be a great addition on top of sleep deprivation and turning my world upside down with a newborn

Appts this coming week?
Appts this coming week? Nope
How're you feeling this week? I still feel good, physically. My hips are starting to hurt at night when I'm in bed. I feel like it's really early for painful joints. Is anyone else experiencing this? Wondering if they are getting wider...

I saw my OB this morning and the appt was nice and boring. I go back on the 22nd for another ultrasound to check on the kidney, my glucose test and to meet with the OB. We also scheduled an appointment to meet with a pediatric nephrologist in June and that will be good to calm my nerves. It's all just moving right along.

Someone is smiling down on me today. My favorite daycare we were on the waitlist for (until estimated June 2019!) called me today. They are changing the age range they serve and as a result they are closing the 6yr old classroom to open a second infant classroom and asking if we wanted a spot. UMM HECK YEAH! I couldn’t give her my credit card number fast enough for the deposit. Such a weight off these shoulders.
@laurad75 I really like that nursery furniture! I’m glad your appointment was uneventful and you will be seeing the nephrologist. Knowing what’s going to happen and having a plan is so good for the nerves.
@sarzee2 I think yellow is a tough color we were originally going to do that but all the yellows I liked just seemed too bright for the whole room. We actually ended up buying a little bedding set on clearance I LOVED and we are lifting the colors off that for the walls and a mural in the room. I liked the aqua in it for the walls and we will do accents of the yellow, but it’s not a true yellow. I’ve have about zero eye for color so I like to lift color themes for a room off an item (picture/blanket/etc) that had several colors I also like to google/pintrest color pallets using the main color I want. I put in the spoiler a color pallet I found for what our colors will look like. We will be adding more variations of lighter grey though, and quite a bit of white thrown in. One of my favorite joys in life is bringing something in and having the paint guys magically duplicate it.

I haven't had a chance to catch up on all the posts yet, so sorry for not responding.

@hottietoddy so glad to hear that you are continuing to do ok after surgery and are able to start some light activity at home. Girl I’m telling you adding the miralax into a smoothie has been LIFE CHANGING for me. I’ve been doing it for a little over a week but I don’t feel as bloated, I’m regular, and no more struggling if you know what I mean. I’ve been doing a handful of spinach with about a 1/2-3/4 cup almond milk (with the mirilax mixed in), a couple cubes of full fat yogurt (I got a big tub of full fat plain and froze it in an ice cube tray), ½ a frozen banana, and about a 1/2cup-3/4 cup of whatever frozen berries bag I grab first. This is much better than my previous standard pregnancy bagel breakfast and, very easy if you need something transportable. Also uber impressed that you are taking on the start of a play room. I’m thinking I’m not going to even attempt that until toys are so over my floor that I stub my toe that one last time that sends me into a fit of rage all the way to ikea!
@lablover78 I also always feel the need to explain with my pregnancy too. I tend to say something vauge like it’s was a long road and we are so happy. I can only imagine getting a response like that. Even just reading your post I thought about everything myself and how freaking lucky I am to be having this baby that I never really thought could come, and knowing how happy I am so so so sad for those that are still waiting and trying or those who will never get their miracle baby. It’s just too much so much gratefulness and sadness all in one. Don’t mind me, just a little something in my eye over here. Sniffle Sniffle.
Cute bumps @sarcasticowl, @chicandbubbly, and @laurad75!
AFM, I had a bit of a scare yesterday but everything is ok. Details in spoiler because of Trigger Warning. Questions for those who have suffered from anxiety.

Fortunately no more scares and if it does happen again I’m hoping to be able to calm myself down a little better. I actually checked out what I’m using an its not miralax after all…woops. It’s actually the target brand version of Metamucil. It came in a tub and I just scoop a rounded tablespoon out each morning. Sometimes I’ll take a second dose in the evening and just have it with some water if I feel like I need it. It tastes kind of like orange drink mix, but not overpowering. Bagels were and are my savior during the nausea days, and its developed into a bit of a bad habit for me. I’ve been pretty lucky that the ravenous part of pregnancy hasn’t caught up to me. I’m half expecting to turn into a human garbage disposal for the third trimester. Also super cute bump!
@sarcasticowl thank you for making me feel better. Sometimes when I freak out it’s hard not to just give myself a pass sometimes. We have all been through so much and sometimes I forget to give myself a pass when that history rears its head in my reactions.
@businesswife thank you for the support. I don’t think I would have made it without DW and that awesome nurse being calm and compassionate. So lucky! Also cute bump and kudos on the workout!
@chicandbubbly thank you for the kind works. So happy your anatomy scan went well. I hope the high blood pressure was just the excitement of the day and getting so see your perfect little girl.
@hottietoddy thank you for the affirmations suggestions. I found those very calming and helpful and staying positive during my ivf cycles I don’t know why I haven’t been using them now! I hope your heartburn gets better soon and only 14.5 weeks left for you?!?! Holy cow that does seem like a blink of an eye. I’m still finding it hard to believe that before summers end there will be a real live new human for our little family. So surreal!
AFM, just finished up my 3hr glucose. I'm hoping they will call me with results this afternoon because I don't want to wait/worry over the weekend. Still keeping my fingers crossed and hoping I pass.TTC History in Spoiler ***Trigger Warning*** Losses/Child Mentioned

:/ Womp.
