  • I took DH some lunch and when I got there he was asleep in the break room with one of his long-time friends sitting next to the bed because he was having a hard time.

Friendship like that just calls for a sob fest... Right?

  • I’m in panic meltdown mode. I’ve been at my current job for just about 2 months. Being due in Jan, I will be at my job for less than 12 months when I go out on maternity leave. I just found out that FMLA only kicks in after 12 months employment. Now I’m worrying I’ll be taking a long unpaid vacation for ML. Anyone have experience with this?  I’m out of my office for the day at a conference but will speak to HR this week

My wife and I have conceived a babe with my body and frozen donor sperm through IUI, with medication support (clomid, ovidrel, and injections of progesterone)

    IUI #1, #2, and #3: Dec 2017, Jan 2018, and Feb 2018 - all BFN
HSG Test: April 2018 - all clear!
    IUI #4: April 15/16, 2018 - BFP!! EDD: Jan 7, 2019

  • @rooonilwaazlib I didn't have FMLA last time because I had only been at my job for about 7 months. I believe, FMLA doesn't pay you while you're gone, it just allows you to be gone up to 12 w.
  • @rooonilwaazlib - my love-it is a big hug to you. I haven't been in that situation. Do you have short-term disability insurance? FMLA is the protection that allows you leave and requires your employer to have an equivalent job for you on return, but is unpaid. FMLA fact sheet: https://www.dol.gov/whd/regs/compliance/whdfs28.pdf Most in the US have to use short-term disability insurance to get some income during maternity leave. Please speak with your HR rep to see if your company may have their own policy regarding maternity leave. Good luck!

  • I cried today because I am already having mom guilt for my youngest by being pregnant again. He has some special needs right now that we are still figuring out and I’m so worried I won’t be able to give him the attention he needs with a new baby around

Crying right now because I am watching the youtube video "I let my son plan his own Birthday". (It's a buzzfeed video from Wine mom! If you haven't watched any of her videos, you should! Youtube wine mom). Well, it's just so cute and I really can't wait to be able to afford short family vacations. :'(:'(:'( Just seriously started crying at how fun they are having. Yup these hormones are getting to me now.

Edited to add: Omg, I wasn't done watching the video when I posted this, so I kept watching and she was crying because of how fast her babies are growing up and I am crying so many tears right now!
