Infertility

Introduction

Hi everyone.  I have been on the boards for a while now and I'm finally ready to share a little about myself and become active in the May IVF group as each round brings greater hardship. I am 34 and my DH is 35.  We have been married for 8 years and have been TTC for the last 5 years.  I have been through 4 IUIs, a break for endo surgery, followed by 3 additional IUI's. We started IVF in December only to discover that after the endo surgery my AMH dropped to a whopping .1 and my FSH is a 14. It is believed that my ovarys might have been damaged during the laparoscopy as I had many cysts removed.  My 1st IVF produced only 2 eggs and I didnt make it to transfer.  My 2nd IVF, after a few changes, produced 7 but only 4 were mature. I transferred 2 on day 2 as they were both poor quality: 1 was 2 cells and rated poor, the second was 3 cells and rated fair.  It resulted in a BFN. The 3rd attempt was a FET of a 6 cell fair day 3 embryo.  It was another BFN.  I will be starting my fourth and last cycle with my own eggs on Monday. If this is unsuccessful, donor eggs have been recommended. I'm feeling numb to the entire process as I find myself convinced that it just isn't meant to be.  I admire everyone on these forums for their strength and I'm so truly sorry any of us have to be here.  I will be lurking around the May IVF board and the low AMH board as well.  Looking forward to meeting everyone and thanks for letting me share.

Re: Introduction

  • I'm sorry for all you've been through, and I believe that you are also a very strong person for having gone all those obstacles and still keep pressing on and moving forward. Welcome and I hope for success on your upcoming cycle <3
  • I’m so sorry for all of your struggles.  I’m also a May IVFer and look forward to seeing you over there - hopefully your ovaries just needed a little rest and are not damaged and this attempt is successful and is the last “try” you need.

  • @jrf1983- Sending you good vibes for your last IVF! Feel free to join us in the low AMH thread. Also, if donor eggs are something you would consider, feel free to read through the donor egg IVF thread and join us there. Its a hard decision, but talking to others who are or have gone through it is really what helped me accept that path and get excited. Its no one's first choice (obviously), but its an amazing option to have a family and be able to carry your own baby. Best wishes!!
