Iguess I should be happy I still don’t feel pregnant, but it would be a little nice to feel like I was actually experiencing part of this journey. Massive rave bc my mom came into town this last week and was a HUGE help. She cooked and left us meals in the freezer, bought me some clothes, and bought us a dresser, changing table, and crib mattress. Feeling hugely blessed and fortunate to have her generosity. Only bummer was that we had Hamilton tickets this weekend, so I gave her mine to go with H. I’m sad I didn’t get to go, but she lovessss Broadway so it was something that I definitely had to do for her.
5. GTKY: What is your favorite way to relax?
Romantic strolls through Target, trashy Bravo shows, and baking cookies. When not pregnant, also heading to the vineyards on sunny afternoons for hours of tasting in the beautiful scenery.
15! Woo! Some say avocado, some say apple. Either way, I say I have an undeniable bump that's not just squishy fat anymore
2. How are you feeling?
Aside from the daily headaches...pretty good!
3. Any appointments this week?
Just the chiropractor today. Thankfully!
4. Rants/raves/ransoms/questions?
Every morning I pack my food for the day. It's now looking like a week's worth of food on a daily basis. We're gonna be poor from grocery bills...and it's all the fetuses fault!
5. GTKY: What is your favorite way to relax?
I am the queen of relaxation:
Bubble bath, facial, clean sheets, and 12 hours of shut-eye.
1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 11 weeks, a lime according to TB but a brussel sprout according to Ovia (which seems more accurate)
2. How are you feeling? pretty much the same. The nausea comes in waves but is mostly all day. all day fatigue and tiredness as well. DH commented that he feels like I'm more sick this time around, which isn't true but he certainly doesn't have to deal with the symptoms so he won't remember
3. Any appointments this week? YES! We have our nuchal translucency u/s wednesday and the harmony blood test so it's a big one. We're pretty excited. Bean has been measuring 2 days ahead pretty consistently so they should be measuring closer to 12 weeks than 11. I'm excited to see something that looks more like a baby than a lima bean on the screen.
4. Rants/raves/ransoms/questions? None this week. I completed a 5k Saturday so I felt pretty accomplished considering I did zero exercise with DD. Though I've been hesitant to pat myself on the back until I see the Bean is OK in there.
5. GTKY: What is your favorite way to relax? It's a tie. I LOVE bubble baths with a nice glass of red wine, neither of which I'll get to enjoy for a while. I also use my biweekly mani/pedi as my relaxing, Mommy time.
1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 13 weeks - a lemon
2. How are you feeling? Generally pretty good - nothing really has changed. Tired, a little nauseated in the evenings.
3. Any appointments this week? Nope - but this reminds me that I have to make my next one!
4. Rants/raves/ransoms/questions? Nah - I’m mostly consumed with trying to figure out if I should keep DS’s room “the nursery” and move him into another room so the baby can have his, or if that will mess up DS. It’s strangely stressing me out!
5. GTKY: What is your favorite way to relax? Sit on a beach in Hawaii and read a book. DH and I started talking about a possible trip this summer without DS and I’m obsessed with the idea. That and the room problem
Iguess I should be happy I still don’t feel pregnant, but it would be a little nice to feel like I was actually experiencing part of this journey. stuck in the box...
Hamilton is coming to Detroit next season. I'm having a real debate on if I can justify season tix. I am in love with almost the entire season this year. Although, one I really want to see (Something Rotten) is here end of Sept/early Oct. So I'm questioning if I'd be able to see it.
1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 14 weeks. Baby is the size of an 8 oz filet mignon. Nommmm
2. How are you feeling? I feel great! I can really feel the top of my uterus above my pelvic bone. Its trippy.
3. Any appointments this week? Nope
4. Rants/raves/ransoms/questions? My H and I started to organize our thoughts for furniture for a nursery. We are looking a lot at Babyletto, Crate and Baby and Anthropologie
5. GTKY: What is your favorite way to relax? A glass of wine and some mindless TV
@sliztee well partly because DD threw our bath plug away (because she's a tiny dictator) but also because I'd always heard you weren't supposed to take baths or go in hot tubs while pregnant. Although now that I'm typing it and realizing that they encourage swimming I feel dumb...
@mrsmartinez16 You can take baths. Just try not to get your body temperature over 102. That's been the hardest part for me because I took scorching hot (~112 degree) baths prior to pregnancy. Also, try to stay in the bathtub under 20 minutes (never a challenge for me).
@mrsmartinez16 your tiny dictator comment made me laugh so hard
@sammierose464 Do you think it will start becoming uncomfortable to sit for the duration of the shows during the ones you want to see? If not, I say go for tix! We're not big play people, but couldn't pass up Hamilton.
@slitzee (curious if this tag will work bc your name isn't coming up for some reason...) Nothing I am truly complaining about missing (no nausea, not very emotional, haven't noticed much in terms of skin/hair changes, no real food aversions.) I think I'm just still reconciling what I thought would happen (first timer here) vs my reality for this pregnancy. It's totally fine, just an adjustment since I had mentally prepared myself to be slightly miserable Every time people ask how I'm feeling I just blankly stare at them, awkwardly blinking, and say 'um, fine.' If it wasn't for a pee test and a bunch of missed periods, I'm not sure I would know I was pregnant!
1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 13 Weeks. Matchbox car! Which is ironic because last night DH and I were talking about how we need to buy some of those for DD soon.
2. How are you feeling? Still nauseous, but I actually think it is getting better. Yesterday I wasn't really nauseous at all and I didn't throw up! The bad news is that the second trimester dizziness has kicked in. It gets really bad for me at times. Yesterday morning at church the room was spinning for a good portion of the service. I also got super hot for some reason and was about to go stand out in the snow to cool down. lol
3. Any appointments this week? Nope
4. Rants/raves/ransoms/questions? I wish I knew when the 2nd trimester actually started. Nobody can seem to agree on this and it's annoying. I know it doesn't actually matter, but it would just be nice to know.
5. GTKY: What is your favorite way to relax? Wine and Netflix. Especially if I can convince DD to cuddle with me. I'm so ready for those newborn snuggles!
@chopchop25 I get that. It's gotta be weird not experiencing the traditional symptoms. However, coming from a 15-week standpoint...once the bump has popped, there's no denying it. My husband came home from a conference he's been at since Thursday and said "Oh god, you popped over the weekend!" He's not wrong and sitting at a desk is uncomfortable. There will be constant reminders annnnny day now
@sammierose464 Do you think it will start becoming uncomfortable to sit for the duration of the shows during the ones you want to see? If not, I say go for tix! We're not big play people, but couldn't pass up Hamilton.
The only show I would be pregnant for is the first one, which is the end of sept/early oct one. The rest would be after baby comes. So that's part of the concern too.
Slowly starting to feel better. My nausea is mostly gone for a few hours each morning, and doesn't really come back (unless I'm hungry) full force until 3 pm, and then it's still all night long. But daily headaches and sciatica have started to creep in, so that's super fun.
3. Any appointments this week?
nope
4. Rants/raves/ransoms/questions?
rant: the daily headaches. Am I dehydrated? Maybe, I have to force myself to drink liquids because I'm never thirsty. Also could be due to my 2 month hiatus on massages... definitely feel like these are tension headaches from my crap ergonomic work station.
Rave? : We've finally told almost all friends and family so know I only have to awkwardly hide the bloat at work!! TBD on when my teammates are going to know. Probably when it's obvious? Lol
Also another a rave, I'm super excited for my massage that I scheduled for 3 weeks from now! Finally allowed back!
5. GTKY: What is your favorite way to relax?
A nice, long, steaming hot bath with wine and a book. I've missed my baths, and have avoided them because a)I'm scared and b)what's the point if I can't get it super hot and stay in for an hour??? May try to get a bath this week and see if that still is enjoyable at lower temps and times lol.
@jemmerjams I'm having the headaches too! I wake up with them and they usually go away after I eat. This morning I had to take some Tylenol though because it was so bad.
@jemmerjams@acciocoffee Tylenol hasn't done shit for me. However, sleep can usually put it off for the most part. It's still a bit achy after I wake up, but not paralyzing.
@sliztee@acciocoffee yeah I'm on team Tylenol sucks. I try to avoid taking it and make my husband give me shoulder massages instead, which almost work better lol.
I get waves of nausea but not as bad as they used to be. The fatigue is still here. Much more cramping and pulling in my abdomen the past couple days. My belly is definitely starting to show so that must be why. But it makes me a little nervous!
3. Any appointments this week?
NT scan on Wednesday!
4. Rants/raves/ransoms/questions?
Feeling a little more anxious awaiting the NT visit. I had a freaky dream that I lost the baby so that doesn’t help. Trying not to worry and staying optimistic that we will see little one wiggling on Wednesday with a big strong heartbeat!
5. GTKY: What is your favorite way to relax? Glass of wine, trashy tv, long walks with the dog, beach days, good books!
15 weeks the size of an orange and I eat plenty of those now days
2. How are you feeling?
Pretty good almost no symptoms
3. Any appointments this week?
None
4. Rants/raves/ransoms/questions?
I had the worst migraine yesterday following a headache for 4 days. from the time I woke up till like 3pm I sat on the couch with my sleep mask on to block out all light.
I forget who mentioned it but my grocery budget has definitely increased!
@sammierose464 do it! Especially if you get to see Hamilton...I hate plays and was blown away by that one. I will say, I saw it in NYC (where I live, so I didnt travel for it) when Lin was in the play. Like...I wish I could even, but I literally could not even.
Team Tylenol sucks. I just dont take anything over taking it.
@jemmerjams@acciocoffee@slizteeI was getting headaches pretty consistently until about 8 weeks but only in the am, it was super weird. And Tylenol is a HUGE waste of my time, it never does anything. Obscene amounts of water seem to help though
@sammierose464 what are the season ticket prices? I regret not getting ours (Hamilton will be here in December) but the prices for single show were just released and there's no way I'm paying for it. Nosebleeds are $500+. I'm on the fence about buying season tickets to Orlando because the theater is only 3 hours away and their season is going to be amazing (is Dear Evan Hansen), so I think it'll be worth it. I've been dying to see Hamilton but I refuse to $500 for a tour cast (like no big names at all). It would be cheaper for us to buy tickets to fly to Chicago and pay the $150 for orchestra seats
season tickets start as low as $410 I believe and include Hamilton. So they are SO worth the price.
@Kiwi2628 I'm jealous you got to see it with Lin. He's amazingly talented. There's at least 4 shows this year I really want to see and I'd be happy with the rest too.
Like @elynds bringing up the end of the month, 11 weeks. A lime
2. How are you feeling?
Crappy. I think we have reached HG territory now. I'm puking all the time and lost over 11lbs, dehydrated and having trouble with food/drink. I'm still exhausted and the headaches/migraines suck. BUT I'm happy thay baby is ok, and usually still able to laugh
3. Any appointments this week?
Had one today. No more until May. OB did a random ultrasound to "check on baby" since my fall (even though they did one last week as well). He even gave us some neat 4d pictures. Said all is going well.
4. Rants/raves/ransoms/questions?
I'm so excited I can find baby's heartbeat on doppler now! (DH decided we needed one after so many losses and anxiety.) Got part of my blood work back today. I'm somehow anemic, despite the prenatals I've been on for 3 years *sigh*.
5. GTKY: What is your favorite way to relax?
Listening to music, playing drums, walking in nature, photography.
Ok, nausea is slowly subsiding, a little sore and dizzy and nervous about my scan tomorrow.
3. Any appointments this week?
Tomorrow for the NT scan and blood work then docs on Friday to fill out paperwork for midwife visit
4. Rants/raves/ransoms/questions?
Rant; back pain is he worst!!! Also really hate that I’m getting super forgetful, I had so many reminders set for a school visit I was supposed to do and on the day completely spaced! Felt so bad for letting the kids down so called desperately hoping I could make it up with free art classes!
Raves; my BF buying my surprises, the last was a bag of frozen mangoes which if you know me is close to getting me a diamond
Questions.. how do you know when you’re showing and not just bloated? There’s times I feel great and not gassy at all and have a bump so I think I’ve popped then the next day it’s gone..
5. GTKY: What is your favorite way to relax?
Massage, rock climbing, drawing, especially fan art and of course just watching a good tv show or movie
I feel better than I have. My constant nausea has slowly gone away over the last and now I only feel sick if I let myself get hungry. I was so sick with my son that I dropped 32 lbs while I was prego, so it is nice to just enjoy being pregnant!
3. Any appointments this week?
NT and harmony blood test on Friday. We are excited to see our little one again at the ultrasound.
4. Rants/raves/ransoms/questions?
This pregnancy is so much different than my other one...I don’t know if it’s because I’m 14 years older, 30 lbs heavier, or because every pregnancy is different. I am glad to be not as pukey, but I have had round ligament pains for weeks and these headaches are no joke!
5. GTKY: What is your favorite way to relax?
I’ve been to the beach twice in the last month. Watching the waves is so soothing to me!
@chopchop25 that was really nice of you to give away your Hamilton ticket! Im bummed for you though that you didn’t get to see it! We saw it the week before last, and it was awesome. For anyone considering getting tickets when it comes to your city, DO IT! Such an amazing show.
Questions.. how do you know when you’re showing and not just bloated? There’s times I feel great and not gassy at all and have a bump so I think I’ve popped then the next day it’s gone..
At 12 weeks your uterus is just getting to the level of your pubic bone so at this point it’s bloat. 1st time around I didn’t “pop” until 22 weeks, but I started to thicken up around 17 weeks.
@chopchop25 - Lurking from Friday - I know how you feel. I too haven't experienced many symptoms and it feels odd reading everyone's and not being able to sympathize or understand. Other than being tired, sore boobs, peeing more and having some RLP I really don't feel any different. The not having a period is amazing though!
Me 33 DH 41 TTC since 2016 Due: October 12, 2018 Location: Ontario, Canada
1. 15 weeks yesterday! Baby is the size of a navel orange.
2. I’m feeling great today! I felt absolutely miserable yesterday. TMI... I was experiencing really sharp pains in my lower abdomen throughout most of the day. At first it felt like period cramps, then became super sharp pains, then I felt what seemed like a “pop” sensation and the cramping continued. No bleeding (thank God!) and no other strange symptoms, just abdominal pain. Dr. Google seems to indicate this may be my uterus stretching? I was also wondering if it could have been caused by sex from the night before? I’m not sure but holy hell it was painful. I’m feeling like a million bucks today, though!
3. No
4. Read above haha. Also for a fun rave, my sister is getting married this weekend!!! I still need to write my MOH speech, but I am so looking forward to her wedding!!
@ladyofarlington with DS I definitely experienced some cramping like that after sex. We actually stopped having sex for a few weeks bc it really freaked my SO out. Glad you're feeling better today though!
Re: Monday Ticker Change 4/9
1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
12 weeks. *Edit to add size of a chicken nugget!
2. How are you feeling?
Still fine...
3. Any appointments this week?
Genetics counseling tomorrow!

1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
11 weeks-the size of a lime (maybe a key lime...)
2. How are you feeling?

I know how you feel. I too haven't experienced many symptoms and it feels odd reading everyone's and not being able to sympathize or understand. Other than being tired, sore boobs, peeing more and having some RLP I really don't feel any different. The not having a period is amazing though!
TTC since 2016
Due: October 12, 2018
Location: Ontario, Canada
