Pregnancy Ticker

Re: The BitchFest thread 4/9

  • I am just grumpy in the first place but my 5 year old can't manage to do anything this morning. She has two pairs of glasses and can't seem to find either pair and just keeps saying she doesn't know where she had them! I am so frustrated this morning! Two other people put her to bed at night and they can't seem to remember where they are either!

  • I already feel all this rage seething in my heart because I have a co-worker that literally complains about something every day (whether it is a not real physical ailment or her work) and I am just waiting for it to come up already for today and after spending the better part of the weekend unable to move, I may go off on her.

Negative people are the worst. Can you avoid her at all? That would drive me bonkers. Can't stand people who complain incessantly.

  • @scottishlass1213 I have a friend at work like that and it's exhausting being around her some days. It sounds like this person isn't your friend though, and I totally understand (and support) your plan to go off on her.
  • @ecwk and @melbel0824  No, not a friend - a still semi-new colleague for about 6 months.  She literally moans and groans 3 days every other week because she does payroll (hello, it's your job).  She also seems to have every physical ailment in the book - always something wrong with her and it's always manifested off of something someone already has.

I hadn't outright told her about my SPD issues and how hard it's been because I try to keep my complaining at a minimum at work (but i've had to start working at home here and there because of them), but she overheard a conversation last week and on Friday started telling me about HER pelvic issues and how when she works out she can't lift her leg to the side.  I about lost it on her.  I mean, learn your audience.  I literally have trouble walking some days so STFU!!

  • I feel hugely pregnant already. In my defense, I’m almost the same size now as I was at 37w with DS, which is as far as I got. DH keeps making comments about me not doing as much around the house. We’re remodeling, which is causing the house to be a huge mess, plus I have the regular housework, and I’m working at least 20 hrs/wk. I’m getting annoyed with him because I physically can’t do as much, so I ask for help. He says he’ll get to it in a bit, then forgets. His stuff and DS’s stuff is sitting everywhere, and every room is just cluttered and feels gross to me. Then we have all the remodeling supplies sitting around everywhere. I can’t do everything, and I’m not asking him to do everything, but damn it I need help.

Also, the weather sucks. We’ve had snow almost every day in April. I’m so sick of snow. We’re going on 6 months of snow, not counting the early flurries in October. I want to get outside, clean off my front porch, refresh the yard a bit, and fire up the grill and smoker. Opening the windows would be nice too. Is a few days of nice weather, mid-50 temps, and no snow or rain too much to ask?
  • @melprop I am with you on the weather.  Luckily, looks like things may turn around mid-week for us here and get to the 70's....which I am happy about because it's DS's outdoor bday party this weekend haha
  • @jsnakehole I am a hairstylist and I seriously think about purchasing a chair to sit on while I do hair because even though I’m only 22 weeks along I feel like I’m 35 wks. So I’m with you @melprop and everyone else who feels like they are SO pregnant suddenly.

Another side effect of feeling SO pregnant all of the sudden is realizing how uncomfortable pregnancy sex can be, depending the position you’re in. Last night I felt like Katherine Heigl in knocked up when she tells her man she can feel him looking at her chins and that her boobs are bouncing and making her feel like something out of National Geographic.

my bitchfest is that I’m holding a grudge against my obgyn because she got on me about my weight gain when I dont feel it was necessary. I have an appointment scheduled for next week and I’m keeping my FX she doesn’t say anything again, or I’ll kindly (or not so kindly) remind her of my eating disorder history and let her know it bothered me for about a week last time she mentioned it.
  • @Firemanswife11 had to add that my MIL seems genuninely hurt that she won’t be technically throwing us our “sprinkle” for this baby. I’m in the same boat with a second same sex baby, so we have everything! DH and I decided to do a coed BBQ and only ask for diapers if people insist on a gift. We are having it at our house and my MIL keeps mentioning “someone else hosted all my showers for me”.
I’m letting her invite a bunch of people she wants there to try and make it a little better for her but I really wanted this to be extremely casual and more like a weekend BBQ/celebration than a baby shower.

My midwife more or less scolded me about my weight gain too last week. To be fair, she did have a point. But also, leave me alone :angry:

  • @missybutler94 I will die if they ask us to have it at our place. We have the space but I do NOT like hosting. Someone always leave a smudge on a wall or somehow a piece of tile gets chipped. We hosted Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter this year because I was pregnant and I didn't want to hoof it all around town (and plus I don't like our extended families haha) but I don't even want this, LOL. They actually mentioned having the "sprinkle" an hour and a half south of home. Like...why? If it's so important for them to do this thing, they need to find somewhere the pregnant lady wants to go...IMO. I get very irritable in the 3rd tri and it's already sneaking in haha.
  • I'm so glad no one has commented on my weight gain. I couldn't handle it.

My BF is the women in my life who tell me about their super easy and awesome pregnancies. My mom loved being pregnant, never had any annoying symptoms, and worked a physical job up until the week before I was born. Cool. My pregnancy sucks in comparison. Not sure what to say. Then last night a family friend was telling me about how she hiked the Grand Canyon at 7 months pregnant. Again, cool. I don't think I'll be doing that. They ask about my pregnancy; I tell them that I'm having a mixed bag of symptoms and side effects, and they respond by telling me how easy they had it? How can you possibly think that is helpful in any way? It just makes me feel bad.

  • @derbysquirrel Yes! I've had that happen to me too. It's really frustrating because I know my pregnancy has been relatively easy so far and I'm thankful, but at the same time a lot of it has sucked. DH asked if I liked being pregnant and I said so far I don't have an opinion either way. I don't hate it, but I'm not feeling like my best self either.

@missybutler94 I'm dying over your pregnancy sex comment. It's so true!
  • @ecwk mine might have a point too, but I’m one of those women that just doesn’t want to be talked to about pregnancy weight gain unless it’s like 7 lbs in a week or something crazy. Just let me gain weight!!

@Firemanswife11 an hour and a half away?! For what? You’re nicer than I am though, if I really didn’t want anything I would just say sorry I’m not doing it. I’m so irritable once I get bigger and also postpartum I am a raging lunatic. After I had my first I literally did not care about anyone’s feelings at all. Maybe you should suggest somewhere you want it. And by suggest I mean tell her as nicely as you can that if you’re doing it, this is where it’s going to be.

@melbel0824 it is seriously so true! I forgot how it gets once you start really showing!
  • @derbysquirrel  That is why I don't really tell anyone outside of my inner circle about my pregnancy ailments.  I try not to invite discussion about it haha
  • I have to bitch about a co-worker. She thinks it’s her job to monitor everyone. Well it’s so bad she has lost all seniority and been pulled from every position that gives her a bit of authority.

Friday during our ‘homework’ hour thingy she commented on me being in the office. Well I was waiting for our counselor to get off the phone to talk about a student who several of us think is getting abused.

I kind of ignored her and finished waiting. Well today I was asked if I’d help in the office during my prep. No problem. I can answer phones and run notes.

Well this Twat comes in, while she has students left in her classroom, and comments again ‘must be nice to not have to ever be in your classroom. You should just get a job as a secretary since you are always down here.’ I responded ‘well you must be down here just as much to notice me being here.’ Now it’s a thing with our administration.

  • @scottishlass1213 - I love that you've turned it into a game! I feel like we need to make you a bingo card or something to help you get through the week.  So sorry she's already being a TW this morning.

@derbysquirrel - that's the worst. It's like it invalidates your feelings. I'm really sorry you're dealing with that.

@Firemanswife11 - I love that you're setting boundaries! So sorry that they're putting all that pressure on you. Hopefully they come up with a solution that you're happy with and that doesn't involve you hosting!

Side note - when I hosted my BFF's shower a few years ago we had it at a restaurant - that way the number of guests were limited to those that she actually wanted there instead of the ones she felt obligated to invite. I was 1000% ok with being the 'bad guy' on that one lol! Oh sorry, my host picked this and that location and it only accommodates 12. Plus there was a really fun cocktail menu for the non-knocked up people lol!

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @scottishlass1213 Moans, groans, and sighs definitely count!
  • @derbysquirrel that's so annoying!  I also think that once the baby is in your arms you forget all the bad stuff.  Cause I definitely forgot how much I hated being pregnant.  I remember now.  :D
  • I have 4 more just from lunch. I had to get up and leave.  When we weren't catering to her comments, she waited until more people came in and then got up from the table and moaned and like held her back until someone asked her what was wrong. I can't even today.  And I have a meeting at 1 with her and I feel like if I have to look into her eyes I am going to go crazy.
  • @derbysquirrel that's so annoying!  I also think that once the baby is in your arms you forget all the bad stuff.  Cause I definitely forgot how much I hated being pregnant.  I remember now.  :D
    So much this! Lol.

@jsnakehole I told my OB my back was hurting at my last appointment and she told my to get a support belt. I still haven’t done it so I’m not sure if it will help or not.
  • I just need to bitch about me.  My hip is already dying. My loose rib that is always a problem in pregnancy and is already hurting. I’m like BODY WE ARE ONLY IN MONTH SIX. Calm yourself. We have a ways to go.

SO is an ass slapper and I usually love it. Lol. He did it yesterday and my hip hurts and I almost cried. Makes me sad. Old age is a bitch.
  • @dirtanddiamonds OMG! I have a loose rib too!! But for some reason it seems to chill when I am pregnant. It's the WORST! I taught my husband how to pop it back in.
  • My BF is to my sleeping situation, I had a good couple of weeks and now I’m back to being up for 1-2 hrs in the middle of the night. My whole body hurts and my nose is constantly stuffed up. I just want a night of uninterrupted sleep!!!

  • @derbysquirrel my SIL is one of those who has a super easy pregnancy and for the most part she keeps it to herself. One time she complained to her mom (my MIL) and her mom reminded her how easy she really has it. Me and my other SIL have had tougher pregnancies (but definitely not as bad as others who've been hospitalized, on extended bedrest, etc so I try to keep that in perspective too) and I'm sure MIL just didn't want her daughter to sound rude - thanks MIL!

Which reminds me...I cried to my husband yesterday about hating pregnancy. I just want to have energy, and eat normal, and feel normal. I'm super thankful to be pregnant and that baby is healthy...I just wish I could fast forward through this part. And at the same time I'm trying to soak in all the unique things like feeling baby move that I'll never experience again (since the plan is this being our last baby). Pregnancy is such an emotional rollercoaster!
