Sunday Funday

Do anything fun this weekend?

What are your plans for the week?

Re: Sunday Funday

  • Actually had some energy and motivation to do stuff around the house yesterday. Got some laundry done mainly. Then DH and I went with some friends to a Taco Night. Today I visited my girlfriend and got my hair done. It was a nice chill day hanging out with her.

Not too much going on this week. Friday we fly to Phoenix for a wedding. It's a quick trip, but I've never been there so it will be fun.

  • I had every intention of getting a lot done today as I've been feeling pretty good the last couple of days. Of course today I woke up tired and just couldn't get it together. We ran some errands but then I needed a nap!

We dont have much planned for this week except hopefully heading to the park and having lunch on my day off.

Didn't do a damn thing as it a my as weekend off until early May so it was relaxation weekend!! I watched Brave and the Lego Batman movie and the rerun of Jersey shore family vacation premiere! Lol
  • We mapped out the nursery today! We moved the bookcase we already have and used painters tape to measure out the rug we want, the crib we want and the dresser we want! Now we get to start buying!
  • I had all the energy this weekend! Felt great to even stay up to 10pm every night! Started nesting and packed two boxes in prep for our move in July.  Cleaned the house. Two hour hike with the dog. Went to watch DH win his championship hockey game and then eat chicken wings!

  • @chyvie I'm tired just reading that!
  • @sammierose464 Have fun on your trip!

DH played in a hockey tournament this weekend so that took up most of our weekend. I only went to one game though because the others were way past my bedtime. Plus he was going with the guys for a beer after the game and that’s just not as much fun anymore! Today I studied and DH did all the chores.

This week I’m looking forward to our 12 week appointment! Hoping all is still well with the baby and that we get to hear the heartbeat again.

  • So. Fucking. Tired.

I caught up on the bills and paper work.

This is Week will be super busy so I’m looking forward to next weekend.
  • Yesterday, all my nesting energy went into moving storage units for my dance club.  It took about two hours, and will be so much easier to find the things we need.  Well, okay, not all of the nesting energy - I also spent two hours cleaning my Man Cave since my best friend was coming over today and has pet allergies.  (My Dad claims it is too girly to be a proper Man Cave, but I'm like "So?")

Today, my best friend and I engaged in my own personal birthday celebration - we went and bought all the stuff to put together a dedicated computer for photo processing.  It was like kids in a candy story, except the candy we knew was from 20 years ago.  Luckily, the sales guy was able to get us sorted out.  Started with assembly, but had to break off before everything came together.  I still have an hour or two of work on it.  (Or maybe three or four, no clue - its been 20 years since I did this).

Blast's Guncle and I went shopping for cribs late in the afternoon.  We had gone to Buy Buy Baby a few weeks ago, but we were both put off by the $600+ price tags.  So, we went to Babies-R-Us, only to discover that anything I might be interested in would have been special order before they decided to go out of business, and, as such, is not available now.  So, we have a date to go online shopping on Wayfair next weekend.
  • @knottieamusements Check our Costco. We got DS’s whole set from there and saved hundreds of dollars compared to the stuff I was looking at at BBB and BRU. I was nervous about quality but it actually turned out to be nicer than the the stuff I’d seen in stores. We’ll most likely be getting another set from there for this one. Also PSA when looking at convertible cribs - a lot of them don’t come with the parts needed to convert them. They’re sold separately and add a couple hundred bucks to your price tag. The Costco sets come with all the parts.

I had purposely made zero plans this wknd because my sister is overdue with baby #2 and we reaaaaaally thought he/she would come this wknd. But nope! Poor girl is 7 days overdue tomorrow.

This weekend my husband started tackling our stair renovation. So I'm excited for that, new posts and ballusters coming woop! #adulting

Today was a rather lazy day, took a 2 hour nap and currently watching Homeland with DH.

Okay, this is hilarious.  We only had about three hours for this endeavor today, but literally the first place we went was Costco.  Guncle asked one of the employees where baby furniture was rather than wander around looking on random aisles, and he took us to see a car seat and said that was all they had.  (Umm, dude, a car seat isn't exactly "furniture".)

I'll let Guncle know though, and we may try the other Costco, or perhaps their website.

(And thanks for the pro-tip on the extra parts!)
  • @knottieamusements Yeah, none of ours had any furniture in stock. We had to order it online.
  • Told the rest of family we wanted to tell this weekend and went public on facebook. So nice to have that out! The belly is getting hard to hide so I am thankful I don't have to anymore! This week we start our birth classes and I will probably work on getting rid of some old stuff and trying to organize a bit better while I still can on my own!
  • @SweetSweetTooth woahhhh am I behind for not having birth classes on my radar yet?? (13w today) I want to do them, but didn't think I'd need to think about it so early!

@jemmerjams depends on what you plan on doing. We are going to do no pain meds/limited intervention (hospital with birth center) so we are taking a Bradley Method class. (I am also reading books on other methods to supplement during birth!) They are 12 weeks long so we are starting now. There is another session and they said if we do this one we can come to any/all of the second session classes for free for more practice or to brush up so that seemed ideal for us!
    I am 14 weeks.
Edit to add my weeks along
  • @jemmerjams - I’d at least start looking into them/ making calls.  Blast’s Guncle and I are doing the class offered by the hospital (6hrs on a Saturday), and they suggest completing it 6-8 weeks before your EDD.  But, the registration also seems to fill up about a month before the class starts.

I’m also hoping for an unmedicated birth, but am going a slightly different way for those preparations since Guncle has a crazy schedule, and when overlaid with mine is often impossible.  As a result, I’m doing a lot of self-research, sharing those resources with Guncle, and interviewing Doulas to also support me.
  • @SweetSweetTooth Just know the other people in the class may be way more pregnant than you. Ours was a 10 week class and pretty much everyone was 30-some weeks by the end. I did book it pretty early on though. This time we’re doing a day long intensive catch up class for returning students. She had one in March but said she’ll likely schedule two more before October. So we opted to wait. But if you get two classes for the price of one, why not!
  • @SweetSweetTooth @knottieamusements thanks for the info! I'll add it to my list of things to look into for the week.
  • @tinattt23 oh yes I am sure I will be the newest pregnant of the group! :) I am loving the two sessions for the price of one. Or I don't feel as bad if we can't make a class. I like to hear things multiple times and since there will be pain or I will uncomfortable I want as much as possible ingrained in my head! Dh's too!!
