Re: FFFC 4/6

  • I dropped my toast on the garage floor. One landed upside down....i still ate it  :D

  • @Laumb11 oooh that sounds soooo good
  • It’s spring break week so everyone has been gone all week. I finished all of my work in about 2 hours today and have been “cleaning” my office ever since. I’m salaried and most of the weeks I work well over my 40 hours but I still feel a little guilty...

  • @sliztee my partner is like that with my water bottle lol. I'm so lazy about refilling it because he always does it for me... It's nice being a bit spoiled. Hope your coffee provide returns soon!
  • My preferred alternative to water is iced tea.  I drink water at home and work, but I don’t care how much caffeine it may or may not have- I will drink all the iced tea while I’m out and about.

PS - why isn’t caffeine listed on nutrition labels?  I might pay attention if the information was available, but I’m not going to go digging for it, because I’m lazy like that and frankly don’t have faith in averages published by random websites....
  • It is typically listed on the label, but isn't always easy to find. It should be in the nutrition section, but is often on its own.
  • I frequently don’t see the amount of caffeine in something listed on the label.  Of course, my caffeine intake is mostly coffee and chocolate, so maybe it’s on other products.  I did buy tea from Target and that had a range of caffeine amounts once brewed on the package.  I agree @knottieamusements, it would be great to see that on the nutrition label where it would be consistently easy to find.

I sent the kids outside to play so I could eat ice cream.

I'm definitely averaging more than 1 day a week now for having a second lunch. This has been over multiple weeks, but today will be the second day in a row this week. I am so hungryyyy.
  • @chopchop25 - I wish I was hungry.  I’m not nauseous, so much as the thought of food makes me want to do anything else but eat.

@knottieamusements there are some days that food doesn't sound awesome, but it's mostly in the evening. And then, when I take a bite just to try it, it's magically delicious and I end up eating most of it. But it's for a sure a mid-day extreme hunger thing. Pre-lunch workout today also definitely helped increase the appetite.

Hopefully your appetite comes back soon!
  • @chopchop25 I eat all day. About every two hours, some times less. I’m not eating a full meal, but all day long. It’s the only way to stave off nausea “.
  • @mytrueloves no shame. Before my first pregnancy I had one chin hair I’d pluck. After DD1 it was a little cluster of 3-4. After DD2 it’s two happy little matching clusters of 6-8 hairs on either side of my chin. I’m pretty sure after this pregnancy it will genuinely be a full beard. Thank God for home waxing.

  • @DunkinDecaf I'm currently inn the3-4 hair cluster phase after having one baby and I'm just waiting for it to get worse lol
  • I'm way past the cluster phase. I have a full mustache, hair growing on my neck, and hair just sprouting up everywhere across my jaw. I'm lucky that it's light enough you can't tell unless you're up close.

  • @mesamyt if you put a tissue in the toilet before you puke that won't happen. It's happened to me way too many times and is the absolute worst!

  • I have PCOS so I’ve always had a stache and hairs all down my chin, jaw, and neck. I’m fair and my hair is black. I’m too lazy to wax or nair bc it grows so fast, so I’ve been shaving for years. No shame.

Thanks for the tip!  I really thought I was past this phase.
  • Oouf, that's rough @elothair. I mean, good on your midwife for keeping track of nutrition and all, but I just don't think I could muster up the energy to keep a food journal for 3 days lol. I would definitely do the same thing and be super healthy for three days though! Luckily, my Dr basically said if you feel like eating it, eat it (for first tri anyway). At this point, she was much more concerned about me eating something than about what it was I was eating, lol.

Oh man, you guys are making me nervous with this chin hair stuff!! I've had one hair that DH loves to pluck for me but if it gets to a cluster I'll cry lol better stock up on the eyebrow wax!!

I had 2 hot pockets and a yoohoo for lunch today then some snacks, it was definitely a kids dream lunch
  • @mamabearcj I just added hot pockets to my grocery list. Thank you

@mytrueloves you're welcome!! I haven't had them in one a year and someone had them yesterday so I Had to go to the store lol so worth it

I have my next midwife appointment on Monday and am required to complete a food log to bring with me of 3 ‘typical’ days of eating. You can bet my next 3 days of eating will be the cleanest/healthiest days of my life. I was going to start it yesterday but then ran behind on my morning appointments and ended up eating McDonald’s for lunch - no way am I writing that down!
I had to do that once many years ago for a nutritionist- I took the opposite approach and ate exactly what I normally do, so that when she told me I couldn’t have coke and cookies anymore, I had room for improvement.

I will say that her assertion that she wanted me to make small, sustainable changes over a few weeks was a lie.  She dumped this radical (for me) low carb diet on my plate, and when I explained how I was suddenly having sugar crashes (by symptoms, not using technical words because I didn’t know them) in the middle of work-outs, she told me I was doing so well!
  • Hallmark is playing Christmas movies right now and IDGAF if it's April. I'm watching.

@mytrueloves that all sounds really good and I want to eat all of it!!!
  • Thanks to PCOS I have been slowly growing more beard hair for a few years. It's worse now that I'm pregnant. The same with my stomach. Around my belly button and lower it grows black hairs. It sucks.
  • @mytrueloves OMG a quesadilla sounds AMAZING. So does a ham and cheese hot pocket.
  • @knottieamusements Yikes! That’s crazy. Thankfully I’m pretty sure the midwives just want to make sure I know how to eat healthy and balanced so I’m making sure I use exemplary days of that to prove I do! Given the next two days are weekend days odds are good I’ll have some kind of treat/junk but I’m pretty sure I recall from last time I did this for them (4 years ago) they didn’t really care since the overall picture was pretty balanced!
