Infertility

Hi, I'm new! (Loss mentioned)

Just wanted to introduce myself. My husband and I have been ttc for about 2.5 years. We started seeing a RE a year and a half ago. We got pregnant after I started a new medication to regulate certain hormone levels, but lost that baby at 8 weeks last June. We tried our first medicated IUI cycle in November and it was a success, however I lost that baby in January. I had genetic testing done and everything was normal. My blood work was inconclusive about whether or not I was at high risk of blood clots. We just did another IUI on April 1. I've been on daily progesterone and baby aspirin, and if I get a BFP, I'll have to do daily Lovenox injections to thin my blood. Has anyone else had to be on blood thinners? I'm hoping this is the answer we've been looking for!

  • Hi @smittyswifey I'm so sorry for your losses.
I was put on blood thinners during my first ivf cycle as I developed OHSS. They were called Innohep (daily heparin injectables) but I was only on them until AF arrived. One thing to note with blood thinners is that they do cause bruising. My tummy was one big bruise after a week of injections! Have they told you how long you would be on them? Best of luck with this cycle xxx

  • They said if I get a BFP, I’ll take them for the first 12 weeks and then decide if I should continue or switch to a baby aspirin. I’m not looking forward to daily injections.

  • Don't worry - injections seem really daunting at first but you get used to them quickly.  <3<3
