@smashjam some of the Tums bottles (I think the extra strength ones) say that pregnant women should not exceed 6 in 24 hours. Are they kidding? Towards the end of the day, I go over that in a matter of hours. I've been having to take Zantac every night around dinnertime as well, they're supposed to last 24 hours and I'm okay until after lunchtime, when I have to start popping the Tums again to get me to dinnertime when I can take the Zantac. Pregnancy is such a magical time
I developed a lactose intolerance again this pregnancy Ugh. Knowing this I had exactly what I wanted last night,a good old fashioned cheese burger and a banana milkshake!! I 100% regretted it an hour later and will be making my own lactose free milkshakes from now on! Dang. They have been my biggest craving this pregnancy!
I have seen a banana pudding here in Texas in certain stores and I want one soooo bad! I am reminded how hard it would be to live in certain areas here where people mostly have fast food. Had Whataburger again last night and chick fil a for lunch today - I was good and had a salad but of course had to have fries....
Zantac and TUMS stopped doing crapola for me, so I'm on to Nexium now. Right now taking 1 a day and it's been working the full 24 hours! My doc approved taking 2 a day if needed though, so that's good to know.
Cheeseburgers, envy apples and some really healthy green smoothies I'm making at home. I call it well balanced. I hope I don't end up with high cholesterol because of all the red meat

Banana pudding flavored ice cream? I NEED THIS! I finally just finished watching This is Us the other day and they talked about Banana Pudding ice cream and I was like "hmm, I wonder where I can get that..."

Had two kolache (Czech pastries) after the glucose test, lol. I'm dumb feeding my body all the sugar but they were brought home from Texas and someone HAD TO eat them before they go bad!
@stlmegs DH and I hit DQ after my glucose test on Friday. We were hungry, it was on the way home, and I needed something to get the taste of the drink out of my mouth.
Totally not judging those who passed the glucose test and then downed the sugar. But, I am super jealous. Easter without Easter candy = pure torture. I did just eat my son's chicken nuggets and broccoli and cheddar tots for lunch so basically I'm eating like a toddler today. It was within my carb limit for lunch though!
@zande2016 lunch of champions! I would totally eat that too. Im eating some mediocre sopes and quinoa for lunch. Literally it’s the shell with ground beef, sour cream and chili. Missing so many delicious toppings. Debating on going to buy a shake.
Wishing all my cravings and guilt sounded like the rest of you ladies! Lol for the first 17-20 weeks I could not stomach meat at all, and had a non existent appetite so I ate what I could tolerate and what sounded good, but no cravings. I'm 26 weeks now and got my first craving 2 weeks ago and they're the (normally nasty) cheeseburgers they sale at the convienent stores. They are so good i just cant stop. Also noticing my appetite completely reappeared out of nowhere and March was a 7lb weight gain month for me..... but I ate all the salads all the time lol. Yet no guilt sets in for me like it does for all you ladies... sadly lol
I just got a strawberry smoothie from our coffee shop and it is amazing. I need more of these in my life. Baby girl agrees....she's doing a little dance.

Panera screwed up my order. I asked for scrambled and avocado. Got scrambled with over easy and no avocado. Sad but at least i got my blood orange lemonade.
Everything. All the food in the house. Yesterday I texted my H and told him I was apologizing in advance if he came home and there was no food left. He brought home a jumbo sized pizza for dinner. We played it off like we were celebrating the end of 2nd tri and the start of 3rd tri, made us feel less guilty.
+1 for ALL THE SPICY THINGS. Honestly, if it's not spicy or sweet, I'm not interested in eating it. I really hope I get my normal taste buds back after this baby is born!

@stlmegs my body is so weird, I love spicy and handle it well but sugary stuff gives me acid reflux. Maybe it's because I have always eaten pretty spicy but very rarely eat sweets but my body does not like the sugar.
I’m starting to wonder if maybe I’m anemic....literally all I’ve been wanting to eat lately is red meat. It’s so unlike me, especially since I was a vegetarian and only started eating meat again when I was diagnosed with GD. So far this week my dinners have been a cheeseburger, steak, and steak fajitas. We’re having shrimp tonight and I’m really sad about it.
@zande2016 funny that you say that because when I did my glucose test, my dr called and told me that I needed to start taking iron pills because I'm anemic (ugh). I have totally been craving red meat, which is really weird for me. I bet that's probably why....

@zande2016 - a care coordinator was assigned to me through my healthplan. She called and asked me a million questions yesterday and when I told her that I'm getting nosebleeds often told me to make sure to tell my doctor so they can test me for anemia! I always prefer red meat and seafood when I'm pregnant, and I had a delicious cheeseburger from Smashburger yesterday.
I bought a bag of the Lay's pickle chips and ate half of it without even thinking. I had to hide them from myself. But I can't even think about eating spicy or I can just picture the heartburn. Same with pork (though I've been wanting BLTs) and the tangerine I'm eating right now isn't sitting well either.....
@MichelleAG05 I think it’s common practice to test for anemia as part of the third trimester blood work, that’s what my midwife did at my visit this week anyway. They haven’t called yet to say I’m anemic so maybe I’m good. But yeah I’d say it doesn’t hurt to make sure they plan to test for that.
Good to know @zande2016! I actually got an email this morning and they did a CBC in addition to my glucose check and all was normal. So I guess that means no anemia!
Re: What my pregnant self is eating 3/26
Seriously, is there a food out there that can just not give me heartburn please?? I guess the frozen Indian food I had for lunch wasn't the best idea.
@babygagnon2018 Hahahaha! It's SOO bad but SOO good.
