How far along today? How big is baby? 24 weeks - cantaloupe!

New/Interesting/Festering Symptoms I got bronchitis and a sinus infection. I can't even walk to the bathroom without feeling out of breath... but I don't know how much is sickness and how much is pregnancy. 

Appointments/US this week Standard appointment tomorrow with my PA. Excited to hear baby's heartbeat again

Random Questions Where is everyone feeling baby? I still feel him really low and I keep expecting him to move up at some point because I remember my friends and sisters complaining about rib kicks - he is no where near my ribs. The highest I've felt him is my belly button and that's not been common. Also does anyone else have to sit in the clinic the whole hour for the glucose test? I can ask tomorrow about the logistics but I'm wondering if I should have DH come right at the beginning or meet me there after the hour? When will I actually see the doctor? Before or after? 

Rants/Raves just this sickness.. and feeling unmotivated at work. My supervisor has not been supportive lately and I'm super annoyed. She also asked for feedback recently on how her program management was working and I provided less than stellar feedback about a colleague and the lack of team player she is being - now instead of asking me directly for more info or having follow-up convos she invited both of us to a meeting about it. Now I probably won't even say anything because I am not in a confrontational mood and also because my supervisor and coworker are good friends so I know she would side with her on anything anyways... 

What's your favorite type of icecream? blizzards! Does that count as a type? Haha

Appointments/US this week: Hitting my GP's office today for a butt check. I'm kind of nervous about whats going on down there and that they won't be able to fix anything while I'm pregnant so my butt is just going to hurt for the next 5 months.

Rants/Raves: Hurt my legs doing a 12 minute barre style prenatal workout and didn't get any workouts in this week because I could barely function. Maybe I'll get my shit together these last 4 days, lol. 

What's your favorite type of icecream? Ben and Jerry's Phish Food is a fave right now, but if I went out to get ice cream I would get a scoop of cookies and cream and a scoop of strawberry. Those are my fave classic flavors. 

@MrsMiller8588 I had to sit in the office for my entire hour...I started out at the doc and they gave me the drink there, then I waited an hour and got my blood drawn at the hospital across the street. I don't remember if I found out pass or fail then or the next appt. I do remember that I was so hungry I wanted pop tarts from the vending machine and after the blood draw went directly there to get them, lol.

@SmashJam Thanks for sharing! I will ask tomorrow for sure but it sounds like I should have DH come at my scheduled time and then he can leave if he wants. 

Sorry about your butt issues! Hopefully it's easily treatable even when pregnant! Update after the appointment?

Nothing new or interesting really, just really starting to feel pregnant and my belly is increasingly in my way. Trying to learn to work around it has been amusing.

What's your favorite type of icecream?
Tough call. Usually peanut butter anything. But we have some really interesting local icecream makers here in town and I love to try the more unusual flavors they come up with like pear and gorgonzola or olive oil.

@MrsMiller8588 yes. Blizzards totally count! I had a mini oreo one last night because DH had a Dairy Queen craving and it just seemed wrong not to get anything since I was with him. Also, I'm also still feeling baby pretty low. He seems to think my cervix is a drum set.

@SmashJam do keep up posting on what the doc says, hoping its just an over abundance of the prunes! Sending positive vibes your way!

Rants/Raves: She decided it was fun to hit my cervix for a few days. It was not fun for me. I think she was turning because i normally feel her kicks on my left side, but yesterday and today they are on my right side.

What's your favorite type of icecream? I've been eating chocolate chip cookie dough lately. But like @SmashJam, I get cookies and cream when I go out or if DH and I are sharing, some sort of strawberry flavor. 

@SmashJam - you got this! workout for me! i've gained more weight than my previous pregnancies (at this point) because of this pelvic rest. My DH won't even let me go upstairs. =/
@MrsMiller8588 - I think I took the drink, saw the doctor, finished waiting, then the nurse took my blood. At that doctor, I found out right away if I passed or failed. They did it in-house. My new doctor, I have to go to the lab downstairs to take the test. But I think my process is the same. Take drink, see doctor, go back and have blood drawn. It's in the same building so it makes it easier. But if you are trying to figure out logistics, I would definitely just call and ask.

Rants/Raves: rant, I love my husband but he needs to do something about the snoring. I suggested breathe right strips, he told me he doesn't need them. Its because he cant hear himself snore. It was a LONG night up with the sick toddler last night...

Thanks everyone! I will ask at my appointment tomorrow what the routine is. I know everything is done in house and it sounds like most likely DH should come right away for the appointment if he wants to be there. 

@noideawhatshesdoing we don't have any good ice cream shops in town so I'm totally jealous! 

@kc1293 feeling large is definitely a symptom! I also feel large.

@wysmom14 sorry about your pains! I thought I had sciatic pain for a couple weeks but I haven't for awhile.. (knock on wood). I did find sleeping with one long up on a pillow seemed to relieve some pressure for me.

@MrsMiller8588 It rains here a lot, so we have to find things to do. So we're really good at eating! One of better shops is Salt & Straw, they started here in Portland, but have since opened shops in WA and CA. I do know they ship, so depending on where you live, you might be able to have them send you some.

So, butt news: just two hemorrhoids and one has a micro tear. I can go in and check for inner tears but if there is anything going on internally I can do nothing until post pregnancy, so I might just cancel. It seems the micro tear and the fact that the hemorrhoids are outside is what caus3s the difference in pain I'm feeling.

I went to the casino with DH and his brother and his GF for their birthday (they’re twins) on Tuesday. I made the mistake of wearing wedge boots.. We had to walk SO much and my feet/legs are still paying for it. 

What's your favorite type of icecream?
All of it. If I had to pick it’s a tossup between caramel or chocolate. Or coffee Oreo? Or moose tracks.. Or something with a PB swirl.

I’m 22 weeks! Yay. Baby is either a spaghetti squash or coconut depending on which app you use. 

Symptoms: does noooooo sleep (at least at night) count? I either can’t sleep at all or I wake up every hour. But boy can I sleep during the day if I’m able to. 

Appointments/Ultrasounds: I have a second attempt at my anatomy scan Friday. Baby girl didn’t cooperate with everything so we need to re-measure the spine and try for a good look at her eyes/nose/mouth.

Rants/raves: I feel like there is still sooooo much to do for this pregnancy and I only have 18 weeks left. But my shower isn’t until I’m 36 weeks, which also freaks me out. I was talking with my mom about getting the car seat (my mother in law wants to purchase it but was talking about sending us the money if we can get it on sale). Of course she tells me no as another friend was planning on buying it. Which is awesome and I’m grateful. But the thought of waiting until 36 weeks to have the car seat is kind of freaking me out. And on a lesser rant. My sister in law is also pregnant (I love her..she is awesome) but the way I see one of my closest friends interact with her (will smile, run up to her, run her belly, and just jabber on) vs me (there have been days she’s been over to my parents’ house as we are all friends and she didn’t say a word to me until she said bye). It’s extremely hurtful but then I think I’m being paranoid and sensitive. So yeah...

favorite ice cream: how do you pick? I typically go for mint chocolate chip or banana nut. But I do love me some lime sherbert too...oh and I must say I miss being in Austin and going to Amy’s Ice Crram and getting Mexican vanilla with strawberries and graham crackers 

for the question about where I feel kicks—I’m still feeling them super low. But I assume that’s because baby is still breech. And I’ll do my second glucose test in a few weeks. Ive asked to bypass the one hour and just go straight to the three hour. I already failed the 1 hour once this pregnancy. I did pass the 3 hour but she wants to repeat around 26-27 weeks. With the 1 hour, I got a call the next day with the results. With the 3 hour, I believe it was posted on my online portal within a week. I’m assuming they would have called immediately if I failed (like they did with the 1 hour)

@angleyeskkhr I also feel baby super low still, but juuust starting to feel more kicks higher up too. And I also miss Amy's Ice Cream. Srsly, so good.

@mrsmiller8588 your uterus may not be high enough to feel rib kicks yet on your torso. Juuust above your belly button is normal. I think others answered your glucose drink question but I drink mine at work or home, cold and within 5minutes, hang out, then head to the blood lab about 15 minutes before they have to take my blood. It's a timed test so they must see you at the end of your hour regardless of how many ppl are also there waiting. It's like a fast pass to get in and out. I don't have to take mine until between 26-28 weeks tho.

@angleyeskkhr @flockofmoosen3 - I didn't really care for Amy's. Maybe it's because I haven't been to the Austin one, just the Houston one. And it's been a really long time since I've gone. In Houston, there is a place called Fat Cat that makes a really good Mexican Vanilla.

I would always go to one of 2 locations in Austin (and I am pretty sure one of them was the original). I also didn’t experiment. The Mexican Vanilla was just sooooo delicious. And I absolutely love strawberries. 

I live in south Texas now and never have found any place that has Mexican Vanilla. Sometimes I settle for vanilla and add cinnamon, but it’s jusy not the same.
