Beta Help!

Hi All,

I've been reading these boards for YEARS, but have never posted until now. I'm going through beta hell, and cant seem to find much info...

I had a FET of ONE 4aa embryo on 2/25

My levels:
3/5 (8dp5dt):   188
3/7 (10dp5dt):  454
3/15 (18dp5dt):  3,497

So, I initially had high HCG #'s and a less than 48 hour doubling time, but the doubling time slowed significantly in those 8 days between beta 2 and beta 3. Between 2 and 3 I believe it is about a 66 hour doubling time.

I've read on multiple websites that the doubling time can slow after 1200, but I can't seem to find an actual source for that anywhere so I have no idea if it's accurate. On top of that, my nurse didn't sound very optimistic, and said we'll just have to wait for the ultrasound. My ultrasound is in 2 days, and I should be 6w2d at that time, but I've been going crazy since I got those results back. Does anyone have any insight? Unfortunately, my gut is telling me it's probably a blighted ovum

@nis85 I think those are great numbers, my numbers also slowed significantly between beta 2 and 3, I believe my first was 117 (7dp5dt) and then was 277 at 9dp5dt and then 2700 at 17dp5dt, they do slow down a lot after 1500 or so I believe, I made myself really anxious too, but at my ultrasound they found twins so you just never know!  I am now 10w5d and everything is progressing well, so just wait and see what the ultrasound shows, hopefully you'll be pleasantly surprised!

@nls85 I've also heard that doubling times can slow after 1000. My RE doesn't even share the beta numbers after 1000, since people can freak out that they are slowing but that's totally normal. I think your numbers look fine and I have my fingers crossed for good news at your ultrasound!

@adirat I really wish they didn't even do a beta 3 (or didn't give me the results)!! You're right, all they've done is cause more stress!

I will update with the results, no matter what they may be. Thank you for the well wishes!

Betas... one more thing to freak us IVFers out! Mine we're 180 on 3/9 (10dp5dt), then 642 on 3/12, then 1192 on 3/14. With my first pregnancy my numbers were much higher so of course I'm freaking now too. But like everyone here said, they're great numbers and as long as our doctors say they're good, we should trust them (easier said than done!).

This last round, I asked them not to tell me my betas. I actually haven't followed my levels of anything at all, and it's been enormously beneficial for my mental health. 

Your betas seem great. They definitely stop doubling quickly, and, if you're at a clinic that KEEPS doing betas for weeks on end, they'll actually decrease somewhere in month two. No one warned me about that the first time. Cue major freak out.

Update: We had the ultrasound today, and everything is fine. We are so relieved! The little bean is measuring one day behind, at 6w1d, with a heartbeat of 116. Thank you all so much for your comments

No more betas for me, thank goodness!!!

@nls85 congrats on your great news! I have been freaking out about my numbers too and I wish I would’ve thought ahead and asked them not to share the actual numbers with me, as @muchwanted did!
