@doxiemoxie212 The worst of it is that I bought a ridiculous amount of fragrance right before finding out about DD, so it's just sat in my bathroom closet for 4+ years.
FFTC/pregnancy brain moment: speaking of blush, I have a blush palette that I use every morning and this morning after doing one cheek I forgot which color I used and accidentally put a different color on the other cheek. I was halfway through when I realized and tried to even it out.

I have R.M.T appt tonight, which I'm already super excited about. My H finally got around to getting a reissue of our benefits card AND I MAY BE COVERED FOR IT!!!
The place I'm going isn't super expensive, but the fact I'll be getting it covered {likely} just put me over the moon
Also, finally got the final tax form so our taxes are being done
Things are finally coming together at home too. Likely this weekend my uncle is coming to help my H move stuff to the basement, and he's offered to paint baby's room while we're at work since he has a day off during the week. So we're gonna talk about that. THEN WE CAN SET UP THE CRIB!
We still need to replace the screen, but that's pretty easy and won't take much time.
I feel so stressed that 1 - I can't help him move stuff {TV & TV stand} from upstairs, down to the basement 2 - I can't do anything in that room until stuff is moved and painted 3 - the room is an absolute mess right now since we keep tossing baby stuff in there, or the basement. Or the living room.
My house feels cluttered and that might be my stress
@doxiemoxie212@kfren@amy614 It's funny you're talking lipstick. Just this morning I was thinking how I hate my current lipstick and want to switch it up. I need to go to Ulta or Sephora and test some out.
In other news, our shower is this Sunday, and the girls throwing it included the "bring a book instead of a card" thing, which I know is controversial, but honestly, of all the etiquette things I GAF about, this is not one of them because I despise cards. ANYWAY, our friend group is like the target demographic for Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (can you see yet where I'm going?), and last week's episode was the Marlon Bundo Book episode.......... and I'm so curious if any of our friends (or all of them...?) will have acted fast enough to order that book for the shower. I definitely don't want 20 copies of Goodnight Moon, but I am fine with multiple copies of the better bundo book. I think I'm setting myself up for disappointment, though, because I know it sold out super fast lol.
@doxiemoxie212 Why is it controversial? Never heard of it being controversial, it seemed like the route many are going. I'm likely going to see about requesting books instead as well. {may suggest about varying age so more variety }
Btw has everyone heard the "Go the F**K to Sleep" audio? There's 2 on youtube I love, Jennifer Garner & Samuel L Jackson. Similar idea to "Good Night Moon" but obv not kid appropriate
@misskittydanger because it implies a card would be expected, and you might end up with 30 of the same book, and a lot of people really like giving cards, etc.
I need a more everyday lip color. I’m a big fan of red but it’s not for everyday wear. I feel like the current trend of nudes don’t look good on with my skin tone. I also need new blush since DS dropped my and shattered it.
@doxiemoxie212 I hope you get one copy of John Oliver’s book. My sister did a book thing like that at my shower a few years ago and only ended up with a two multiples. Oddly enough, not a single Good Night Moon.
@MissKittyDanger@doxiemoxie212 and @dinodna3 my MIL did the book instead of card thing for my shower with DD and like dinodna3 said I only had a few books in multiple (and that includes the books we got from our other shower too) and not a single Good Night Moon. There are 2 issues with the book vs card that I didn't really like: 1) The books didn't always stay with the gifts, so there were a few gifts that I wasn't sure who they came from once we were home and writing the dreaded thank you cards. 2) The books all have notes for DD; which was sweet at the time but now we are having DS- and he's going to have all her hand me down books. I don't want him to think everyone likes DD more than him in a few years when he's old enough to realize the books all have notes for her.
@jsl82 Would it be too awkward to get people who come to visit write notes in the books for DS? lol like turn it into a yearbook thing? (You make a good point though, which I hadn't thought of because I'm an only child who doesn't know what having siblings is like. Wish me luck since I hope to have more than one child... lol)
@doxiemoxie212 I never thought of that being controversial. We are doing that(this Sunday as well) along with a diaper raffle. I really never thought of either of these being bad, but someone that is planning their shower thought it may have been too much! I immediately regretted doing both options though they are obviously voluntary! Oh well, won't let it get the best of me!
@doxiemoxie212 since it was MIL's shower, it is all DH's family that lives 4+ hours away from us. DD has only met some of them once (if at all). I probably won't pack up all the books when we go upstate once or twice a year.
@jsl82 I didn't even mean the same people lol though I guess that would be ideal. I meant random people. Like turn every book into a yearbook with notes from assorted friends/family.
We just did the book thing at my shower. A cute little verse was included in the invite that clearly made it optional. Tons of books, 1 multiple but different styles, and no Goodnight Moon. I didn't have an issue with them being separate from the gifts and and a lot of the messages are generic anyways. Some people who gave books also gave cards, and some opted out on the book and just gave a card. People will do what they want, but overall I think it's a great idea.
My mom's shower had birthday cards for DD until she is 25 that people wrote in for her- so I also need to ask family and friends if they would like to do the same for DS.... and I should probably not have like 6+ kids as I am asking everyone to keep writing my kids little notes.
@jsl82 if you end up with 6 kids, you'll need to start pre-generating those notes and get people to just sign them lol. Or give you copies of their signature you can forge.
We're going to see a three bedroom/two bathroom apartment tomorrow morning that I really think is "the one." I'm sharing a screen grab of the layout with you guys in the spoiler because it is basically the only thing I can think about right now. I've been looking at the development's website all day. It is brand new and we'd be the first tenants to live in the unit which would be sooo cool. Also, the amenities include a 1.6 acre park, indoor and outdoor pool, kids playroom and playground. I want to live there sooo bad!
@LaceyBee522 what a great layout! I'm praying this one works for you and your family! Now we're all going to be sitting around waiting to hear how it went!
@LaceyBee522 we had a washer/dryer in our apt in DC, and then when we subletted from Columbia University faculty for 9 months when we first moved back to DC, and oh my god, going back to that has been terrible. Absolutely terrible lol. I feel so dramatic saying that, but it really is just such a better life when laundry is IN YOUR HOME!
@dinodna3 I know I won't need the playroom/playground right away, but it definitely makes me feel like the building is more kid friendly. And we're talking about signing a two year lease, so we will make use of it eventually.
guys, DS finally felt 'baby bruvver' kick last night. He never sits long enough or knows what he's waiting for (the rolls etc). But as soon as ds put his hands on yesterday, baby gave him a strong kick. The look on his face

Currently waiting to get drug tested/tb tested for my new job. I got here right at opening to try and avoid a wait, but they said it'll be a while. Trying so hard not to think about how badly I have to pee since the drug test is urine and I have to hold it. Can't I just give my pee right away??
