Well I'm two days overdue and not dilated at all. Just had an ultrasound to check on Baby and she's floating around as happy as can be. All is well; no medical reason to induce so I'm forced to wait. Anyone else overdue? Seems like a bunch of us delivered a bit early but I'm the opposite side of the coin. Can we make this a place for support and / or advice? Ladies who have already delivered can chime in with tips they used to get labor started
.
I'm getting apprehensive now since I'm already out on leave and feel like the clock is ticking on time I could be spending with my Baby.
Re: Overdue Support Group
I *think* you need to be a little dilated for membrane stripping. At my 40 week appt with DD my Dr was going to, but I was only 1cm so should couldn't get in there to try.

@crossfitbabybump I will get a second sweep Monday if no labor yet. Was there a difference between your two sweeps at all??

@citygirl17 - hang in there Momma! Thinking of you!
I'm planning to ask for a membrane sweep on Monday, but I didn't realize you have to be dilated for that. I was "not dilated at all" this past Monday, so who knows if she'll be able to do it. I really don't mind the physical aspect of being pregnant, but man these last couple of weeks have really messed with my head! Hopefully things get going for us soon!
I've also been on maternity leave for a week already. I'm glad for it, but it does make me feel anxious, too. We're trying to keep up with regular sex, but I just feel so ridiculous!

@orbmaker I got up and cleaned my whole house the morning before I had DS. I felt great for the first time in weeks.
doc didn’t seem to think baby’s coming any time soon
he did say he thinks it’s gonna be a short labor once it gets started....really hope I won’t need to go into work on Monday!

Anyone have any progress to report? @citygirl17 i hope it happens for you!!

I am kind of struggling with this tbh. I very much wanted a med-free birth. I know I am doing what's best for baby and this doesn't mean I need to get an epidural etc, just tough adjusting your hopes ya know. Still hoping she makes her own appearance before Sunday

This time I was hoping baby would just come on time and I’d have a vaginal birth...well I’m 40 weeks plus 6 days and there are no signs of baby making its entrance (head high, no effacement, no cervix shortening or ripening). My question is: would you wait it out a bit longer? How long? Or would you schedule a c section? My midwife and doctor said I can go to 42 weeks but that seems long?! A note that because of having a c section I cannot get induced using cervadil ... thank you in advance for any thoughts advice ideas ?!?!
I'm pregnant with my second, and with my first it ended up as a c-section too. I wanted to try for a VBAC to avoid the abdominal surgery, but baby seems pretty big and with how my first labor went, doesn't seem like I'd be successful with a VBAC. So I have a c-section scheduled, but I pushed it out to 41 weeks as I'd rather give baby a chance to decide when to arrive (since normally many doctors like to schedule planned c-sections at 39 weeks to avoid you going into labor on your own). I also figure the extra time in the oven is just extra time for brain/lung development.
With my first I was concerned at 37 weeks that I didn’t drop yet so I started doing a group of exercises called the miles circuit... and I think that’s what did it with my first. I plan to do that starting after Easter if he is not here. You ladies should look it up. Thanks!
