I hope this isn’t a dumb idea for a thread. I’m bored today.
So I have a few from this pregnancy:
1. Before I found out I was pregnant, I bought a bunch of cloth pads because I decided I wanted to have a little less waste associated with my period, and I’m washing diapers, anyway, so why not? Got my BFP before I could use them.
2. So many opportunities for free alcohol I have to turn down.
3. I originally thought my EDD was DH’s Birthday (based on O day)
1. This baby's due date is DS's 2nd birthday. They will induce me early but I think it's kinda cool!
2. I only bought 3 'nice' winter-ish maternity shirts because my stuff from my last pregnancy should be totally seasonally appropriate (see number 1 lol!) Except this time I'm about where I was size-wise as I was last time in May / June so I'm either squeezing into non-maternity sweaters knowing I'm stretching them out or freezing all day. And I refuse to buy more long sleeved stuff because the second I do, boom, Spring.
1. A month before I got my BFP, I went out clothes shopping to celebrate my 25lb weight loss from over the summer and fall.. I normally hate clothes shopping, but I got a lot of cute new tops and bottoms. Now I probably can't fit in the shorts/pants I bought on clearance, and most still have tags on them because winter arrived early and I didn't get the chance to wear them.
2. Ironic or morbid, you decide, my EDD is the day my dad passed away.
I got a Southwest companion pass this year for the first time, which we obviously won't be using a lot since I won't be flying in the second half of the year.
Re: free alcohol, we went on our belated honeymoon right after I got my BFP and they offered us free champagne everywhere we went.

TTC #2 January 2020: AMA, dx with DOR in May 2020
IVF July 2020: 16 eggs retrieved, 14 mature, 12 fertilized, 3 blasts, 2 PGT-A normal
FET 10/7/20: BFP on 10/12/20!!! (EDD 6/25/21); First beta 10/16/20 (9dpt): 148; Second beta 10/19/20 (12dpt): 621; Third beta 10/26/20 (19dpt): 4732; Fourth (and final!) beta 11/2/20 (26 dpt): 22,000+
Oh man all the free booze I have been missing out on!
For Christmas this year my boss gave everyone wine and on of the attorneys gave me a Starbucks card. I have never got either one in the 6 years I have worked here.
My Dad bought me a bottle of Moscato to have at Christmas at his house which, he has never done. I had to keep saying I was the DD and I couldn't risk having even one.
My work had a happy hour for someone retiring. I ordered a ginger ale and had the waiter out it in a cocktail glass with a lime wedge.
I got my first faint BFP the day of my school's staff party. I drank club soda with lime all night so no one would get suspicious.
I also bought a ton of tampons for my November period (because the progesterone made it crazy heavy) because I was sure the clomid wasn't going to work.
Me: 28 DH: 29 Married: 6/2016 TTC #1: 12/2016 Benched due to deployment- Off the bench 8/8/17!
We had decided to be a one and done family this fall. We got rid of all of our DD'S baby stuff in November. Car seat, clothes, baby gear, every thing. We got a BFP a week later..... *face palm*
My grandmother in law bought my absolute favorite wine for me for Christmas. She has never done that and it's only available for a limited time. We found out a week before Christmas
I was in the ER on 11/24 (DS2's birthday) for severe pain on my right side with endometriosis; they did a u/s and said the pain was most likely being caused because they could see a small cyst on my right ovary most likely due to ovulation. Yup, that's the day I conceived baby girl.
I ordered 3 pairs of Thinx underwear for my periods because I wanted to alternate with my cup.
We had a huge garage sale in December and my mom tried to get me to sell all of my old prom and homecoming dresses and I said no way in case I have granddaughters some day. Now I'm expecting a girl.
I signed up to coach softball the day after we had a BFN at 9dpo. 11dpo, BFP and already signed my contract to coach.
We had just moved into a 3 bedroom house so the littles could have a shared room, and a separate playroom. Now our living room is the playroom so #3 can have a nursery in in the playroom.

DH and I had just started the process for infertility. We had our first appointment and were told that it didn’t look great for us to conceive naturally, I wasn’t a candidate for clomid, so best to go straight to a clinic that does IVF/IUI. The next step was the progesterone test after my period started, it never did. I was pregnant at that appointment and didn’t know.

I've actually heard this is kind of common! My cousin tried to conceive for 6 years but refused medical intervention. Her and her husband finally accepted they were only going to have one child and they were fine with it so they sold her crib and a lot of the baby/toddler stuff they had been holding on to for 6 years. A week later she got her BFP.
@legallykate Once you have companion pass it's easier to keep it though because you earn more points at the higher tier. I've had one for.....5ish years? I will be bummed when DS turns 2 and the whole family can't fly for the cost of 1 ticket.
+1 to all the free alcohol and tickets to drinking type things I've turned down
Kid2 was conceived after I screamed at DH for being "too tired" or "too full" for my whole 'window'.
On our wedding day this past October, we were headed to the arcade and his mom randomly opened her Bible in the back seat and said "Let's see what words God has to say for you"." It said "I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife will have a son." I laughed just like Sarah laughed in the Bible. I'm not religious but this was pretty funny, and my MIL loves to bring it up all the time. I'm 18 weeks now and have an ultrasound tomorrow so we might get to see exactly how accurate it was!
After about a year and a half of NTNP with no incidents, I found out I was pregnant a couple weeks before I was going to start the patch.
We had pregnancy scares in the past, so this time when I noticed some off things I ignored them. I normally want to hurry up and test while DH is more relaxed/meh... This time it was the opposite -- he forced me to take the test & I was like meh!

This is like my first pregnancy! I had been told I’d need to start Clomid and look into IVF due to DHs SA results. I had an appointment with my then OB to discuss the next steps since getting KU sans intervention wasn’t working and at that appointment I was able to report to her that I had gotten my BFP two days prior!
Not really sure if this is technically *ironic*, but I'm 99.9% sure we conceived on our 2-year wedding anniversary. The same night we had to have the local fire department come out to the house because DH forgot to open the damper on our (very old) fireplace. Bless him, he was just trying to be romantic lmao.
And DITTO on the free booze - we've had a ton of work events that usually include free food and free booze that I've had to turn down since I got my BFP; and of course one of the only things I've really been craving recently is a margarita (with lots of salt... mmmmmm).
I also thought we had missed our window in December and at that point we had decided that DD would be our only one. We tried 4 years for her and 4.5 years for this one. 7 round of failed Clomid cycles and a diagnosis of "unexplained infertility" and we had given up. BD on December 3rd, only time in the month and December 22nd we got our BFP. To say I was floored would be an understatement. So kids, it really only takes one time lol. Guess health class was right.
Also on the train of getting rid of almost everything.
I'm glad we have a lot of Mommas that enjoy a good beverage! Can't wait for weekly Friday Night whatcha drinkin check ins! (And yes, I made that up in my other BMB....I don't know that other groups do it)
Oh yeah, we also have tickets to see School of Rock the musical on August 19. My EDD is the 14th, soooo....probably going to be giving those to my brother. Oh well!
DH and I planned to quit smoking (gross, I know) for New Years. I wasn't really ready and was worried I wouldn't be able to. New Years Day I took a test thinking it would for sure be negative, and low and behold it wasn't. So I quit, and easily. DH still hasn't and it was his idea. (I told him he has until June and then I am going to start nagging him more than ever imagined possible).
His three plus my one; we are all excited to welcome a little one!
@jmcooke25 We did the same. I looked at DH at the beach last year in May and thanked him from the bottom of my heart for not letting me obsess about having a baby. Things were so easy. I was truly happy with our family the way it was. This summer we sold all of my leftover baby stuff with a few random exceptions. Now I want it all back! Especially my Uppa Baby stroller which I cannot afford now, but I loved oh so much!
His three plus my one; we are all excited to welcome a little one!
For me it's all of the concerts I would want to see if they were coming just like one month earlier or one month later than they actually are. Killer.
I second this!! I'm going to a concert in April (Lorde) and one in June (Harry Styles). I have tickets to one in July but it's outside and in Nashville soooo I'll probably have to give away that ticket
I got a text from H three hours before BFP, at the tail end of a nasty sleep regression/teething/cold DD was going through: "Ugh. I really don't think I can handle another child." We weren't preventing, but really didn't expect to get KU so quickly. Little late on those sentiments though, lol.
I got a fancy AF wine opener from my FIL for Christmas. Have yet to use it.
I only got my BFP the day I got it because a friend and I were going to day drink with bottles of wine in our venti Starbucks cups and I figured I should make sure I’m not pregnant first. Bam, BFP.
I have tickets for a Shania Twain concert on August 3rd I think it is. I’ll either be insanely huge and pregnant or I’ll have a newborn. I kinda hope I can go but I’m not holding my breath!

This pregnancy was also conceived under the imminent threat of an infertility evaluation. It happens often, I think! It also happened during an afternoon quickie at my parents’ house during DS’s naptime. Scandalous!!!
With my first pregnancy DH bought be a really, really nice bottle of scotch for my birthday. A BFP was my other birthday present. The bottle stayed unopened for about 10 months...
If this baby is born at 37w3d like his brother, then he will share a bday with both his aunt and his grandfather.

We had always talked about whether or not we were going to have a kid, and had finally decided against. I promised myself when I was 8 that I wouldn't have a kid over 30, so once I hit that birthday I thought the discussion was behind us. Then back in September I told DH that I was thinking about it again, and that maybe I wasn't really sure if I wanted to be child free. He said that he was on board, but we had to move quickly due to our (his) age.
I quit smoking in Sept. and then ordered some sperm in October. We only had one unit, but used the ovulation strips to determine the best time and went for it. I was convinced that we had conceived on our first go, but then I had a really wonky period Nov. 1st. We ordered another sperm sample and tried it one more time in November and that was all it took! I still suspect that I had a chemical pregnancy in October due to the unusual (brown, chunky) menstrual discharge, but either way I was shocked at how fertile I evidently am. I've been sexually active for nearly 20 years, and never had so much as a scare, so I really wasn't expecting everything to work so quickly!
Me:32 DH:45 DSD: 20 DSS: 18 Team green baby due: Aug 6th, 2018
I’m not sure if this counts as ironic, but I had a loss in November and went back 2 weeks later for a pregnancy test at my dr, which was negative. So we talked about waiting a little while to try again and I waited and waited for my period to start. I decided to randomly take a test the week after the dr appt and it was positive, so while we were really happy, it was definitely not quite planned to happen that way. My midwives were surprised when I called back so quickly pregnant again ha
We decided to try early November but DH wasn’t totally sure. I told him this month was just fun, that we’d already missed my window (totally thought this was true). Four weeks later I was walking up to him with a positive pregnancy test. I was shocked.
@kburg15 This pregnancy was conceived immediately after a loss too. For some reason I felt like it sort of "reset" my system, like maybe the loss was a blessing in disguise. We had been trying for 7 months (and NTNPing since DS was born) with only BFNs.

With DS, I had a chemical pregnancy in the 2nd month and then we tried for another 6 months after and it was getting really frustrating.
We then went on vacay with like 12 friends for DH's 30th birthday at the time. I was reading "Fifty Shades of Grey" and not tracking etc....got knocked up on that trip hahaha
2 years ago I was super in shape- committed to lifting/gym 5 days a week and eating great. I didn’t renew our membership as we started ttc- cue 15lb weight gain. I’ve been dying to get back at it but hestitated as I knew as soon as I joined, I’d get knocked up. After almost a year, I cried one morning not able to wear any of my clothes because of the weight I gained and joined the Rec center. BFP that month. Haven’t been much
