How far along are you? 18+3. Feeling large. I think the bump said baby weighed as much as a hamster yesterday. How are you feeling? Good. Back to normal in terms of exhaustion which just means I'm back to my old schedule of not getting enough sleep. Rants/raves? rave: I think I felt baby move yesterday. Still very subtle though. Envious of all these people feeling kicks and such already or movement regularly. Any questions? not that I can think of. Excited to be this far along while also freaking out about everything I need to get done over the next few months at the same time. GTKY: what is you favorite book? I got really attached to All the Kings Men in high school and have read it a number of times. Definitely not a light read though and think I only like it so much because my AP English teacher was obsessed and really tore every detail of it apart. otherwise, probably harry potter.
How far along are you? 16w2d. The Bump app says it's the size of a Starbucks grande iced coffee, I have no idea how big that is, so I had to Google Image Search it. I still don't feel or look pregnant. How are you feeling? Normal, I guess. Chocolate tastes okay again. Rants/raves? I'm struggling and angry over the GD diagnosis, still. I'm not a big carb eater in general, after trial and error they just don't work with my metabolism, so I've learned to limit them over the years. I'm finding that with being on insulin now, that I'm being forced to eat more carbs than I'm comfortable with just to balance out the insulin injections, otherwise I get pretty low blood sugars...like yesterday.
I feel that in addition to any potential pregnancy weight gain that all of these carbs are going to balloon me back out and I'm going to undo all of the hard work I've done in the past year. Losing weight for me is already borderline impossible with the PCOS to begin with.
I'm already kind of freaking out over feeling like everything in my life is out of my control right now, and it's seriously messing with me. I can't eat what I want, when I want, I have to poke myself 800 times a day, my husband is insistent on selling our home, I can't get my family to get on board with helping each other so I don't have to do it all, I lay in bed thinking and overwhelming myself of all of the things I have to do just to even get the laundry and chores done, let alone packing and moving. Any questions? Baby bathtubs seem like a space waster, can't you just put a folded up towel in a kitchen sink and bathe baby that way? How often are you even supposed to bathe a baby? The simple things are tripping me up...and I don't want to ask my mom for advice. Because it'll turn into another 30 minute conversation about how she didn't have a car seat with me, I was rolling around in a playpen in the back of the 1978 Blazer.
GTKY: what is you favorite book? I love too many books to really choose from, but to be different and hopefully enlighten others into trying it, I'm going to go with Katherine by Anya Seton. It's a historical romance, albeit dramatized, based on actual real life characters from the British royal family in the 1300's; the love story John of Gaunt and his long-term mistress, Katherine Swynford (whom he eventually married when it was legal to do so). It's just such a lovely romance, and so well written.
How are you feeling? Feeling really good, yesterday was rough with DST on top of regular pregnancy sleep issues, but I slept a lot last night and feel good again today.
Rants/raves? I'm starting to gain weight beyond just my belly now (probably all the crap I ate in first tri catching up with me) and it is depressing me, the whole "pick your pre-pregnancy size and then the maternity clothes will grow with you" thing is not working as my hips expand seemingly by the day. DH is being cuter now that I am noticeably more pregnant though, instead of being like "why are you always touching your belly?" he asks "is the baby moving?" and seems excited. He's still not sold on her being a girl though and is holding out hope for a penis at the A/S so I'll be happy when that is over. @neeraja_k I had lost weight prior to my BFP too so I can relate to the stress and anxiety of putting it right back on. We can do it again though once we have these babies, I know I will be going back to low/no carb so we can have an accountability group! I am sorry you are feeling so overwhelmed in general and don't have a great family support system to help you deal with the stress.
Any questions? Is anyone else doing any elective/special US's? I booked a 3D/4D one for the day before Mother's Day so I can take my mom as a gift of sorts, she feels left out that she can't come to the A/S but my practice doesn't let multiple people in there with you (and I think it will be special for just DH and me).
GTKY: what is you favorite book? The Giver, I loved it as a child and re-read it a couple years ago before watching the movie, still so good.

How far along are you? Around 16 weeks How are you feeling? I think I'm getting a cold, and if I wasn't before I definitely will be because one of my kids coughed in my face this morning. Rants/raves? I'm starting to feel a little movement. Just some bubbles here and there. Supposedly he can hear me now, so I try to spend a few minutes talking to him each day (even though I'm worried his first words are going to be "(worst student's name)! What are you doing?!?"). I have a check up tomorrow and then we're going to announce on Facebook Any questions? none @neeraja_k My cousin is giving us her bath but I'm going to bathe him in the sink for the first few weeks at least. I'll probably do daily baths after the first few weeks because it's going to be part of his bed time routine- bath, milk, story, sleep (but we also have every intention of sleep training) GTKY: what is you favorite book? Not that I have tons of time to read any books that don't involve animals going on adventures and rhymes, but I loved 'The Help'. I read it before I saw the movie and I just loved every second of it (and made me appreciate the movie more).
Me: 28 DH: 29 Married: 6/2016 TTC #1: 12/2016 Benched due to deployment- Off the bench 8/8/17!
@legallykate i had the same problem with the "pick your prepregnancy size" thing this weekend. It was so incredibly disheartening. I'm back to watching what I eat a lot more in comparison to 1st tri though so I think that's all I can do!
How are you feeling? I feel pretty good. Except for the fact that I cannot sleep. I was having trouble to begin with but, sleeping on my side now is killing me. I wake up and my hips hurt so I have roll to the other side. ALL.NIGHT.LONG. I am seriously considering sleeping sitting up on the couch.
Rants/raves? Not really any rants or raves. I am super grumpy today though and DH is seriously getting on my nerves.
Any questions? Nope.
GTKY: what is you favorite book? This is a tough one. I honestly don't think I could narrow wit down. I have so many books that I read over and over again The Cather in the Rye, Cats Cradle, Pride and Prejudice. I think I have a favorite for every move.
How far along are you? 18 + 2 How are you feeling? I have a slight headache today and my back is tense, but other than that I'm energized & I'm just chilling on the couch. Rants/raves? Things have been so up and down lately! Lots of good news and bad news, and it's stressing me out. The latest problem is that both of our cars are acting wonky. One either needs the correct weight oil put in... Or if that doesn't work we'd be looking at replacing/rebuilding the engine $$$$!!!. On our other car the check engine light just came on this morning. Our cars are high milage cars because we used them for our contract work until this past Jan, but we had them regularly serviced!! Why?!??!! On the plus side, getting a little belly makes this pregnancy a bit more real for DH and I'm getting more sympathy & massages Any questions? Not really. Dr. Google has had my back so far. GTKY: what is you favorite book? Probably Under the Dome by Stephen King. So much craziness! I think they made a TV series based off of it too, but I haven't seen it.
How far along are you? 17w2d, baby is as big as a pear or pomegranate
How are you feeling? Pretty good. Have to pee a lot, and my heartburn is really bad if I lay a certain way, but other than that, I'm pretty energetic. I've worked out and cleaned so far every day this week! Rants/raves? Um - I think I mentioned this in weekly randoms, but my H's best friend is giving us so much baby stuff - a crib, high chair, pack n' play, rocker, etc... Tons of stuff! It's going to knock a lot of big things off our registry. I think we're going to still buy our own stroller and car seat, but this is going to help a lot!!
Any questions? Nope - not yet. Just when will I feel movement - but that's way more individual than anyone can answer for me.
GTKY: what is you favorite book? Oh - this is really tough. I really love the Kushiel's Dart series by Jacqueline Carey, although I'm not sure it's my absolute favorite. I read a ton so it's hard to pick just one book!
@legallykate I'm passing on the elective US. I got more US's than normal because of my high risk status, so I think I'm good in that department. I've always been curious about the 4D ones though... would be cool to try!
@brezzy1928 I'm had a similar problem with my hips last night. I'm usually a left-side sleeper, but last night it hurt my hip so bad! Even with a pillow between my knees.
@missprincessdoom Cars suck so bad. I hate their maintenance and how much money goes into them each year but I love the convenience so I suffer through it.
How far along are you? 16 weeks, a can of Spam. Which is
funny because DH loves Spam
How are you feeling? I would be better if I didn’t have
constant sinus headaches
Rants/raves? I mentioned this in the Tuesday
Ticker Change, but we’ve had a couple living with us since August and they’re
finally moving out this weekend. I could not be more excited to have my house
back.
Any questions? Nope
GTKY: what is your favorite book?
This is such a hard one, I have
so many! Growing up, it was The Call of the Wild, but as an adult I can’t make
up my mind. I love all the Harry Potter books, and I’m a romance nerd so there
are some older Nora Roberts that I like to re-read, like The Villa. I just
finished A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman this week, and it was so great it
might make my list.
@legallykate DH is slowly
coming around about having a girl, but I also think he’s hoping to be surprised
at the A/S. Picking out a name has helped, and he’s been thinking about things
that he’s looking forward to doing with her. DH loves to play golf, and he’s
hoping that’s a hobby they can share one day.
@jsnakehole I loved The Help. I
also read it before the movie, which I’m thankful for.
@legallykate There are no elective ultrasound places within a 3hr drive of here, or I'd have already been to one. I'd just like an updated picture to share with friends and family, nothing fancy. But looks like I'll have to wait until the end of the month, a whole 10 weeks or so from the last one. =/
I'm feeling pretty good. Some days I'm more tired and hungry than others. The worst days are when I'm constantly going going going and no break at work. Have to keep remembering to drink lots of water.
I'm so done with this snow. I just want to be able to wear dresses and flats without socks and leggings. And I'm so sad to seeing a week of our summer vacation thine due to snow days!
I love banner in the sky and Ella enchanted. The movie made me so angry. Inkheart series is also a favorite.
How far along are you? 19+1 How are you feeling? Much better. I seem to be getting over the worst of my first trimester symptoms, and now I'm just having physical bump issues. It's hard to get up off the chaise, and getting my skates on is becoming a pain. I also get very tired very quickly.
Rants/raves? I posted a mini rant on Facebook this week about trying to shop for baby gear. All of the "rules" for the "right" products and "wrong" products, and if you get the wrong thing, you're an awful negligent mother who doesn't care about your baby either physically or mentally, and they'll probably die of SIDS! Also, evidently babies are SUPER PICKY and will go on hunger strike if offered the wrong bottle/swaddle/pacifier/whatever the fuck. It just seems like none of this should be so damn complicated, and I get tired of comparing items and reading reviews after about 10 minutes. Trying to find the line between cautious and ridiculous is difficult, and I can't help but think that I've seen plenty of idiot 16 year olds on MTV keep a baby alive, so it can't possibly be that hard.
Any questions? Not specifically at the moment.
GTKY: what is you favorite book? Probably Anna Karenina by Tolstoy for novels. I don't read a whole lot of fiction in general, though. I have an almost non existent suspension of disbelief so it's very difficult for me to be "drawn in" to books or movies unless they are pretty realistic. I can't do sci-fi or fantasy at all. I'm a weirdo.
Me:32 DH:45 DSD: 20 DSS: 18 Team green baby due: Aug 6th, 2018
@legallykate I absolutely love the Giver! I pick it up every few months and reread it. I loved it as a child, and even more so as an adult. I get something new out of it every time I read it.
How far along are you? 18w+6d
How are you feeling? Pretty good, energy is starting to return. Baby is moving a bit, so that’s been fun to feel. Having some issues with pubic symphysis/back pain, but it’s managable.
Rants/raves? Rave- just had our first appointment with the new MFM practice we will use and absolutely loved them. Rant- during our anatomy scan we found that I have vasa previa, so glad we are with MFM for other conditions and now this. If the cord insertion does not move, we will have a scheduled CS for delivery.
Any questions? Not really, well I have all sorts, but now it’s just a waiting game!
GTKY: what is you favorite book? The Beantrees by Barbara Kingsolver. It’s another one of those books I read when I was younger and really liked the story, and have now read it multiple times as an adult and get something new out of the story every time.
@derbysquirrel I totally understand. I know that babies can be picky, but damn it's overwhelming with all the choices. And realistically, there's probably not a wrong choice. I start to look at things and then I get frustrated so I decide that it's a problem for my future self to figure out.
@kc0711 I don't know if I've read The Beantrees, but I loved Poisonwood Bible and several of Kingsolver's other novels.
@missprincessdoom I hate cars and anything that has to do with car maintenance. I find it so stressful. @derbysquirrel I totally agree - especially with all the equipment we will need. I'm completely overwhelmed with the whole car seat/ stroller - travel system/ convertible/ newborn decisions. We have a baby equipment specialty story in Boston that I am planning to visit for a tutorial before we make any decisions.
How far along are you? 17+1 - he's the size of pomegranate
How are you feeling? Fine. I barely feel anything and barely have a bump. I almost feel guilty that so many women have all these awful symptoms and my pregnancy has been so boring...but I did 18 months of infertility treatment to get here so maybe I paid my dues. I know it doesn't actually work like that.
Rants/raves? I think I mentioned on one of the boards yesterday that we are planning to move in a few months and working on the details with the landlord. The thought of packing everything up and dealing with the stress of moving at 30 weeks pregnant is giving me anxiety so I've been sleeping like shit. BUT - the place we think we are moving to is awesome with so much space and I'm excited about it. Plus I'll be too pregnant to do any of the real work which will be nice.
Any questions? So many but I can't narrow it down right now.
GTKY: what is you favorite book? That's tough. I am going to pick Orphan Train because I loved the story so much and became so attached to the characters that I cried at the end. I cry at the end of really good books because I feel like I'm saying goodbye to friends.

How are you feeling? tired, anxious, worried due to abnormal sequential screen results. Rants/raves? had little worries about the health of my babe since I had a normal cell free dna test. I wish my doctor better explained that things could be missed, and there was a potential for different results through the sequential screen. Any questions? trying to think super positively, when would a shower be appropriate to be held? My mom keeps asking me when I would like it and i honestly don't have a clue. GTKY: what is you favorite book? in recent years, the constant gardner.
@nll0803 that is scary and I hope you get your answers soon. I'm doing a shower in mid-may, which I think is on the earlier side. I think I will 27 weeks. A lot of people do them later but this is what worked for me and my family. I don't think it matters as long as you are far enough along that you are comfortable doing it!
@nll0803 Oh no, I'm sorry you got such stressful news. When will you find out more answers? Keep us updated.
My shower is June 9. I think it's a little early too but my SIL and a good friend are due at the end of June/beginning of July and I really wanted them to be able to come. Plus, hopefully I won't be huge and miserable yet!
I haven't picked a date for my shower. It's going to be on a Sunday afternoon sometime in July. My mom's friend is letting us use her backyard for it, so we'll save money on the venue. My mom keeps adding people to the guest list, too. So it'll be good to have that flexibility.

@kc0711 I don't know if I've read The Beantrees, but I loved Poisonwood Bible and several of Kingsolver's other novels.
