  • How far along are you? / EDD
11 weeks, 2 days- my due date changed a week and is now October 1st. Im still in the September bump month club- don't tell lol! ;)

    How are you feeling?
The last few days have been a bit better but morning sickness has been rough the last weeks.

    Any recent/upcoming appointments?
I have the Maternit21 test weds along with an ultrasound.

Thoughts/Concerns? None at the moment! I still have the dreaded coffee aversion- hoping I will love coffee again soon lol.

    Questions:

QOTW: What is one baby item that is on the top of your "want" list?
Double stroller- with two under two it's obv a must! Still narrowing them down :). Also I want a baby carrier that can be forward facing- I had the ergo with my son but it was just facing me! I am thinking Lillebaby.

5w6d ... Nov 6 until I see my OB this week.

    How are you feeling?
I was good until today. The off and on nausea has been on for a few hours now. Sleeping is still somewhat tough but not that bad if DH stuffs me with pillows and my boobs only hurt first thing in the am.

    Any recent/upcoming appointments?
    First U/S on Thursday, woohoo!

    Thoughts/Concerns?
Just hoping to hear a heartbeat or beats.

Questions: Any one else taking progesterone suppositories still?

QOTW: What is one baby item that is on the top of your "want" list?
The halo bassinet I would love to buy, but I doubt we purchase that because of pricing.

@chicandbubbly Ooh, exciting about the test! Are you going to find out sex? How long will you have to wait for results? Also, which Ergo did you have? Some can FF.

@mrsa2017 - When is your appt? You'll have to come back and tell us how it went!

Hey ladies. Congrats on making it another week!! :)
^^^ This is exactly how I feel - every week is a triumph.

    How are you feeling?
On and off nausea, definitely tired. I pretty much spent the weekend on the couch. I think there may be a possibility I'm switching from food-aversion-nausea to must-eat-constantly-to-prevent-nausea. I've had both types with pregnancies in the past.

    Any recent/upcoming appointments?
Ultrasound this morning! Still have two great-looking little beans with good heartbeats. Another one next week, then I graduate.

    Thoughts/Concerns?
Nothing new. Loss, risks of twins, blah blah blah.

    Questions:
    N/A

    QOTW:
If this dwindles to one baby, I won't need all that much, but with two we'll need more. The one thing I need regardless is a good newborn carrier. I had the Moby last time and LOATHED it. A couple months in we bought the Ergo 360, but it's not great for a newborn. Apparently there are some newborn carriers that fit twins, so I'll be looking into those depending on the head count.

    I'm 6+2 today/ November 3

    How are you feeling?
Tired and a little blah with the start of some mild nausea.  I didn't know I was pregnant at this point last time around (well, I was convinced I was, but knew it wasn't actually possible), so I don't really have anything to compare to but I really don't think I was nauseous for a few more weeks.  Hoping it doesn't get stronger...

    Any recent/upcoming appointments?
FINALLY have our first ultrasound coming up on Friday.  Really looking forward to seeing that heartbeat!

    Thoughts/Concerns?
Ready to be done with the PIO!!

I'm a bit worried about the whole egg donor thing.  My younger sister donated, and I have no concerns about her or really about me but I do worry about others in the family or friends making comments or being anything less than 100% supportive.  We absolutely intend to be open about things and I don't want this to alienate us from family members, but at the same time I will have zero tolerance for anyone not accepting this little girl as my chilc.

QOTW: What is one baby item that is on the top of your "want" list?
I think we have everything already.  My older daughter will be almost exactly 18 months old when the new little one arrives.  We have everything boxed up and labelled from when she was little, so it's just a matter of breaking them out and figuring out how dresser/closet space will work with to kiddos to dress.

Me: Age 40  Husband: Age 41
Chemo killed my ovaries (along with a BRCA1 mutation, which causes DOR)
4/30/13 ER just prior to chemo: 8 embryos frozen at 2pn. 2 survived to blasts/1 PGS normal

    4/16 ER cancelled on CD7: 1 follicle on L/ 0 follicles on R
    FET #1  7/13/16  BFN

    Super shocker +HPT 9/19
    Baby Alyce arrived 5/8/17

Went forward with donor eggs from my sister for baby #2
ER 4/24, 5 eggs fertilized/1 survived to blast and was chromosomally normal.

    FET 2/15 (my sister/donor's birthday!).  Beta 10dp5dt:172; beta 12dp5dt: 425

  • @mrsa2017 We have the halo Bassinest (baby shower gift) and the funny thing is- my son as a newborn absolutely hated it! It was too wide and empty for him I think. Since then they have come out with a newborn insert for it but the only way we could get him to sleep in it was to put the Dockatot in it! They say don’t put the Dockatot in anything but it worked for us for awhile and it fit perfectly in there. We probably will do the same for baby #2 at first.

For anyone interested in wraps vs baby carriers- I have the Solly wrap and baby and I both loved it!

@muchwanted Yes we will be finding out the sex! Can’t wait! I’m hoping to know by Easter so we can tell our parents and siblings then. :) They say you get the results around two weeks after- I think last time it ended up being only 7-10 days.

  • @PNW12RN - That's a tough situation! If it's important to be open about it, I think you'd just need to be prepared to shut down any judginess quickly. You could have a few lines prepared to use as appropriate. Here are a couple of quick thoughts:
"I'm sorry I wasn't able to create my family in the way you think is best." [mild sarcasm]
"Have you ever read about epigenetics? There's a lot of research about how much DNA regulation can change based on things like who carries a baby. You should go read about it."

It's somewhat arbitrary, which is why you see such different things. 40 weeks/3 = 13.3 weeks, so that's closest to an "official" designation. I usually use the conservative start of 14+0 weeks.

I had two. The first was a PnP with the bassinet feature - like this: https://goo.gl/images/njsz1B
I would highly recommend a basic PnP because it's so useful for so long at a good price.

The other was a summer infant cosleeper:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00YBADM1O/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1520952695&sr=8-1&keywords=summer+infant+cosleeper&dpPl=1&dpID=41AM58pplqL&ref=plSrch

Someone lent us that, so I'm not sure if we'd actually go out and buy one.

  • How far along are you? / EDD 9+2 with twins (expecting them mid September)

How are you feeling? My symptoms come and go in waves. Some days I feel so fine I panic the heck out of myself, and other days I'm so miserable I can barely function. I wish I could just enjoy the good days but I worry myself too much! I honestly think I sort of prefer feeling crummy- less stress!

Any recent/upcoming appointments? Next U/S at 11+2 on March 27.

Thoughts/Concerns? I waffle between still being worried about an early loss to being worried about twin complications. I doubt this will ever change! My SCH hasn't reared it's ugly head in over a week (which is a first), so I'm grateful for that this week.

Questions: When did everyone's OB start talking to them about genetic testing options? It hasn't come up yet for me- I'm assuming at my 11 week appointment it will?

QOTW: What is one baby item that is on the top of your "want" list? Some sleep occasionally? LOL kidding...but not really. I'm doing a lot of research right now about good options for twins as far as strollers, carriers, etc so that's top of mind right now for me!

    1st cycle of IVF started April 9, 2017. ER- 15R, 7M, 5F, 4 frozen, 1 transferred. BFN

    May 2017- Hysteroscopy

June-August 2017- 2nd attempt via FET. 2 Embryos transferred on 08/10/17. BFP, but ended in a chemical.

    November 2017- Hysteroscopy

    January 2018- 3rd attempt via FET. 2 Embryos transferred on 01/25/18. BOLD BFP on a HPT on 1/31, Beta # 1 on 2/5= 721. Beta # 2 on 2/7- 1903. 6wk+3 day scan revealed twins!

    I'm blogging about it here

  • @mrsa2017 I don't really just because we only used the one. :(. This article seems to have a few good options. https://www.whattoexpect.com/baby-products/nursery/best-baby-bassinets/  If you are interested in the Halo you could maybe check Offer Up- I have seen a lot of brand new/barely used baby items on there. Two of my friends got brand new Dockatots on there for a really good price.

Me: 28, DH: 30 Married July 2014  DX: Severe MFI- 3 failed IUI's, IVF #1 Egg retrieval June 4th 2016, 5 day transfer- BFP Baby Boy! EDD 2/25/2017. Our sweet miracle Carter Bennett arrived 2/12/2017 6 lbs, 2 oz 19 inches. <3 Surprise BFP!!! Baby Girl due 10/1/2018.

  • @mrsa2017. I wouldn't worry too much about a bassinet, or about spending too much $$ one one anyway.  For us, we plan to have the mini crib side carred in our room in the beginning, as well as a "snugglenest" (similar to the summer infant one linked above.)  Also, MIL is planning to gift us a cradle, and we're getting a play-yard for downstairs.  So there will be no shortage of things you can try for the short time baby really would be using a bassinet.  Oh, and the Rock n Play, (which yeah, they are not supposed to sleep in overnight, but survival mode, things happen).  There's plenty of time for a thing like that to sort itself out. ;)
  • @businesswife A rock n play is on my list for baby #2- so many of my friends swear by them.

Trigger warnings about the rock and play

I recently found out that there are 4-5 deaths per year in RnPs, JUST IN MY COUNTY. We used ours with my daughter, but I think I will try to avoid them in the future. Babies absolutely love them, but they're not very safe.

Not until the end of next week.

    Thoughts/Concerns?
Told our families last weekend. It went well and they were all excited. It only felt awkward on my end, I guess :# Thanks to all who shared stories and advice last week!

Questions: not right now, which is a first!

QOTW: What is one baby item that is on the top of your "want" list?
A new house? Lol. I don’t even know. Reading your lists makes me think I need to start doing some research...
  • @mrsa2017 I stopped progesterone just last week (10 weeks). How long are you on it?
  • @muchwanted so so sad! I’m guessing it was referring to babies that sleep in them at night because it’s not a flat surface. I’ll have to do some research though I guess before buying!!  :|

Me: 28, DH: 30 Married July 2014  DX: Severe MFI- 3 failed IUI's, IVF #1 Egg retrieval June 4th 2016, 5 day transfer- BFP Baby Boy! EDD 2/25/2017. Our sweet miracle Carter Bennett arrived 2/12/2017 6 lbs, 2 oz 19 inches. <3 Surprise BFP!!! Baby Girl due 10/1/2018.

  • lurking from the second tri thread!  I have also heard that about the rock n play (we have one we used for when we watched my nephew) and I think they aren't meant for sleeping at night...and I've read things about flat heads.  But I think they are fine during the day for naps when you are able to monitor your/the baby.  My nephew would nap in it when I watched him and it was fine.  Chicco makes this bassinet I have heard good things about: https://www.target.com/p/chicco-lullago-portable-bassinet/-/A-17130634

We are splurging on the halo & a dock-a-tot but my mom has the Chicco for us to use when we go up north in the summer.
  • @aera11 we had the Halo and Dockatot- I'd say Dockatot is my number one must have after having it with my son! He loved it and it was easy to move around. I'm hoping this little one likes it as much as he did :)

  • Thank you ladies for all of your suggestions. I will be looking into each of them and doing a little more research on each. I do plan to buy a convertible crib but my husband and I will have baby/ies in our room for quite some time after they’re born so that’s my reasoning for a bassinet really. Also a portable sleeper is on my list. So much things for a little person lol and to think I only need clothes, shoes, and makeup.

@halfanewt I’m on them until 10 weeks as well. Mines is inserted rectally and I have no mess but I’m just tired of putting stuff everywhere. I take those twice a day and a vaginal tablet once at night.... Second trimester where are you?!

Hello! I have been MIA for a long time. I recognize a few names and am happy to see you here!

How far along are you? / EDD
    11 weeks today. 10/6/18

    How are you feeling?
OK. Some nausea and headaches, lots of fatigue.

    Any recent/upcoming appointments?
I just had my first regular OB appointment yesterday after graduating from the RE. It was so cool to see the fetus kicking its little leg nubbins!

    Thoughts/Concerns?
I used a donor embryo and was not able to have it genetically tested, so I'm a little nervous for upcoming testing. I am also just anxious in general right now because of how far along I am (see signature, *TW*)

QOTW: What is one baby item that is on the top of your "want" list? I really don't know yet! A few close friends had babies recently, and their registries were so overwhelming!

  • Welcome @KLyn7 Only a few more weeks until second tri- I hope your anxiety will ease a bit!! When are you doing the testing? I just did the Maternit21 last week and waiting on results!!

  • Heya ladies!

How far along are you? / EDD
    I'm 8 weeks today

    How are you feeling?
Zonked and dizzy. And although I'm able to keep things down constant nausea. I'm so glad I waited until later in life for this. My career is sorted and I only have to work a few hours a week. I don't know how I would have been able to handle this first trimester with all the running around I used to do.

    Any recent/upcoming appointments?
My next appointment is for  the Bi-test. I haven't been able to find the English equivalent but it's something like the harmony with only 85% accuracy. I'm using donor eggs and some general screening was done, so I feel comfortable with this.

    Thoughts/Concerns?
I was a bit concerned initially with donor eggs, but given my family history, personal medical history and several failed Ivf treatments, I'm way over it. Plus reading up on all the new studies regarding my DNA passing and making decisions for the baby is so exciting.

    Questions:

QOTW: What is one baby item that is on the top of your "want" list?
I have a ton of stuff from a previous miscarriage. It's all packed away and I'm paranoid about jinxing things... I'll have to remind myself of what I already have before I know what I'll need.

  • Thank you ladies <3 ... We are blessed.
Sorry I’ve been MIA. I am sick all damn day! Nothing helps and some days I want to cry. Has anyone tried the sea band for nausea relief? I’m willing to try anything these days.

  • @mrsa2017 I have been wearing the sea bands non-stop since about 5 weeks. At first I thought it was probably just a mental thing, but when I take them off for a shower or something and forget to put them back on, I've noticed I start feeling worse and then go "OH! Duh". And then feel a little better after putting them back on. I wouldn't say they make a HUGE difference, but every little bit helps right?

  • @mrsa2017 I also am a sea bands fan- they made absolutely night and day difference my first pregnancy, this time around they aren't helping as much but I am still rocking them ;). Worth a try for sure!
