: because of what's happening in Mexico we decided to change our trip and will now be going to Jamaica.

    Questions for the group:

    GTKY:
What was your first job? Zany Brainy an educational toy store

What are you thankful for this week? Vacation is 27 days away I'm really looking forward to some R&R after last year's fertility treatments.
  • Status (WTO/TWW/Benched/in process of testing or treatment):   AF should be here this weekend hopefully based on what I thought was AF from a clomid cycle.  I honestly will be very excited to see a real period again.

    CD, CD/DPO (if applicable):

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment? Vitamins/supplements?):  All my supplements right now are for my adrenals - vit C, D, adaptocrine, fish oil, Bcomplex  - also just bought another bottle of organic detox tea called Flora Floressence.

    Rants/Raves
:  Well unknowingly I must have done something to trigger my adrenal fatigue.  I was totally great thru Friday then Friday night I was waking up 4 times again but at least falling asleep quickly.  Same Saturday night and then this morning the nausea started again :(  So frustrating.  I'm going to my doc tomorrow.  She said she will see me and figure out what triggered it.  My guess is I over did it last week with all my energy and 4 yoga classes or because I have been eating healthier we didn't eat healthy Fri or Sat night so maybe the food triggered it.  I guess being in the early stages of recovery I need to take it easy on myself.  So of course I had to bring out the tums, zantac, and nausea meds again.  I'm hoping though this will pass quicker than the last one.  I'm just going to continue eating very healthy even if I feel 100% just in case.  Thanks for reading :)

Rave - I bought some epsom salt and took a bath tonight.  It was very relaxing and I listened to some guided meditation for 20 minutes.

    Questions for the group:
@ndz2018 - I know you mentioned it before but what greens do you add to your smoothies?  You get them on amazon right?

    GTKY:
What was your first job?  I worked at the public library as a page.  Easy and very flexible with my school

What are you thankful for this week?
for my naturopath doctor.  She straight up called me this morning to reassure me everything would be fine when my anxiety ridden self was worried about this setback I'm having.  she said there is no given timeline for the recovery which is annoying to me but I'm hopeful I will recover for longer next time.

  • @kristimh80 I didn't get the full scoop but 2 ferry's blew up and a bunch near where we were staying. A few different people told us they wouldn't feel comfortable traveling to Mexico right now so we had insurance and we were able to switch. I wouldn't want to be stuck in Mexico and not be able to get back home if something happened. We've never been to Jamaica so I'm even more excited to go someplace different.
  • Argh! TB ate 1/2 of my response. I was going to say that we had a great time at the wedding.
Rant: I have post pardum anxiety that has seriously impacted my life and I'm feeling depressed, anxious and a bit like a failure for needing to do this for #2. I'm a woman and this is the one effing job my body is supposed to do and it can't. We struggled to get #1 and were sooo close to doing IVF but didn't need to, in the end. I had these same feelings then but now new ones. I feel like a failure for not being able to give DS a sibling. I hadn't expected this fresh layer of hell on top of how I was already feeling. He carries my old cabbage patch kid premie (which, of course, is now his) around the house-his baby. Sorry ladies-I know many of you are still TTC #1 and I pray for ya all every night. I feel like it just doesn't get any easier.
Question: our IVF consult will be 3/19 where we make a plan and sign consent. Suggestions on what questions to ask my RE? I'm a planner and like to be prepared.

  • @ndz2018 so happy to hear that you had a good weekend and that the parade went well!

@kristimh80 that's so nice that you got to enjoy your family time!! And kudos to you for sticking with the healthy eating!

@Labluver2 we had our honeymoon at Sandals Negril, Jamaica in 2012. Loved everything about it! Ugh what I'd give to be laying on that cushy lounge chair, hot sun soaking into my skin, cold beer in my hand, toes in my the soft, white sand, listening to soft lapping waves! Enjoy it!!

@vlagrl29 you are a trooper for dealing with the ups and downs of how you've been feeling! So happy you've got a great person in your corner who can support & help you. Feel better soon!

@Labluver2 Thanks for the heads up! I'm going to look into it when I get home today...so scary! I've been to both and Jamaica is more fun in my opinion. Last time I stayed in Ocho Rios for the 1st half then Negril. Dunn River Falls is fun if you get to Ocho Rios. We also went to Bob Marley's house, which was cool if you want to take a day trip.

@mich_elle So sorry you're feeling that way. I get it, I feel like this all the time. Everyone on my side and my husband side has 2 - 3 kids now and we can't get one, so had to resort to IVF and seem like "those people" of the family. They always ask like it's a science project.

  • @kristimh80 we are staying at Secrets St James in Montego Bay. We had the Dunn's trip planned but we didn't want to do a ton of excursions bc we did alot 2 years ago when we went to Mexico. We are doing the iluminating water night tour which sounded cool otherwise I'm parking my butt on a lounge chair and soaking up the sun. It will be so nice not having anything timed.
  • @Labluver2 Fabulous!! I don't blame you 1 bit! We stayed not far from it, so only reason we went. It was mainly cool just for pictures lol I'm so jealous...I've been dying to go back! You're gonna have so much fun!

  • @vlagrl29 Yes! They are called green vibrance of course nothing can substitute real veggies but if you don’t eat enough veggies this is a great substitute! I love it.

@Labluver2 Jamaica is AWESOME! You guys are gonna LOVE it!

@Laurakat81 that’s a lot a vitamins!  Always a good thing when you’ve got nothing to complain about!!

@mich_elle So glad you had a good time! Isn’t that place great?!? As for your feelings toward IVF I’m so sorry you’re stressing about it but I feel like it’s totally natural to feel this way. I had Similar feelings. Even when it turned out I wasn’t the issue( we have MFI) I still felt that way. It took me a while to get used to the whole “weve got a slim chance to get KU on our own”
but once the meds came and the ER I got Excited about our lil embryos. As for questions I would def ask about the chances of getting pregnant at this point in your life. I have read lots of article about women banking eggs over 40 I’m gonna look for it.. but the more ERs they do the high chance of a live birth.
  • well I saw my naturopath today and she determined thru kineseology that I had an allergic reaction to my phone again and that's what sent things back as well as to much hormone levels - not specific hormones just hormones in general. so she gave me an amino acid that pulls out toxins from your body - I take 2 pills 3 times a day for now and when I feel better I ween off of it.  She said I should start seeing my adrenal pills work again soon.  I need to stay 6 ft from my phone at all times and only use it when I talk/text.  Then afterwards I got a epsom foot salt bath to pull out toxins - and the water turned a really gross color as everything was coming out.  I know this may sound non conventional but it worked to get me to last week so that's what I'm doing now and giving it a shot again.  I'm so so tired ladies - waking 4 times a night is catching up to me along with the morning nausea the last 2 days.  And no I'm not pregnant.  This is exactly how it was before I first saw her about it.  So sigh I can't ween off the ativan like I was  trying to last week as this all gives me back the anxiety but I"m doing my best to stay positive and know I will heal again.

  • @mich_elle - it's normal to have those thoughts.  I use to feel guilty about not providing a sibling but I don't anymore.  I was an only child.  Even DD mentioned it today - having a sister but it doesn't bother me especially when I feel like this.  I know just having my physical good health is most important.  I seriously had to get out the zofran again the last 2 days - like I'm pregnant but not.  This is crazy!

  • @Labluver2 I loved Jamaica, we took a cruise there awhile back and had a fun river excursion where we were rowed down a river on wooden rafts, very cool. We still have our Mexico cruise next month but won’t getting off the ship due to the State Dept travel warnings (and Zika warning from RE) but we can get our sun poolside still and it’s a huge ship.

    @mich_elle
my feelings were the exact same as yours about IVF, then I got scared about all the injections, then I got excited once I started as I prepared for retrieval day, then I struggled with the first four failing and reading the statistics that each cycle for my age had 4-6% success (ouch that sucks) so it’s been a mental challenge to go through with it. There are days I don’t worry so much and others where it’s incredibly hard to think it will work. Anyway, just saying that i totally get what you’re feeling.

    @vlagrl29
I feel for you with everything you’re going through and applaud you for being so proactive to get yourself healthy. Sleep deprivation takes a huge toll on everything in life too, been there! Thinking of you and hope you get back from it soon. Your dr sounds amazing!

  • @Momifbysea As soon as AF starts we go right into our FET protocol. I have heard a few girls mention some of their clinics require BCP too.

  • well the nausea was way worse last night so frustrating!!  Going to call my doc and see what she says.
i'm also going to see my family doc today.  I'm not getting much sleep because of it.  so tired.

  • @vlagrl29 I know how that goes, do you think the new aminos she gave you could be causing it? I know Some vitamins/supplments make me really nauseous, shoot even some teas like green teas makes me nauseous if I don’t have anything in my stomach.. Anxiety will make me sick like that too!! My stomach is super sensitive. Have you thought about going to a gastro doc? Maybe an endoscopy is in order to see what’s going on in there?
  • @vlagrl29 So sorry :( I hope they can figure something out for you that can help!! My estrogen pill gave me nausea this morning, but not anything as it sounds like you're dealing with.

  • @ndz2018 thanks! So if you don’t mind me asking, how long is your protocol?
  • @kristimh80 thank you & (((hugs))). I'm not going to tell me whole family about this, only those that I'm really close with. If they feel like sharing then that's on them. I just don't want to field 1,000 questions, etc. And we're totally "those people" in the family, the ones that people have to walk on eggshells around and watch what they say. We were the last ones to find out that my s-i-l was pg with her 3rd. She broke down in tears telling us bc she didn't know how to tell us, and felt guilty. Ah, the pity party...not one I'd like to attend, thank you. I mean, I get it, but it sucked way more knowing *why* we were the last to find out. Ouch.

@Labluver2 Oh I think Montego Bay is where the planes land like 50 ft from the beach...you'll have to check that out! I've seen videos of people getting blown into the water from the jets of the plane! And that night tour sounds equal parts amazing/terrifying! I'm not a huge fan of water and at night...na, I'll pass!

@Laurakat81 Isn't it nice when life is *boring* every now and then? Enjoy it!

@ndz2018 Yes, the Chart House food was amazing: passed hor devours included crispy bacon wrapped scallops, mini crab cakes, mini quesadillas, mini spanakopitas & more, dinner was buffet with prime rib, pork roast, 4 types of pasta, 3 veggies, salmon, chicken, 3 salads & more, dessert was venetian style plus they had bananas foster over vanilla ice cream! Oh and it was open bar too! Plus the view of NYC across the river were amazing as was the DJ they hired and the florist too! In fact, one of the grooms gave his speech and said, "To all the young kids in the room, take a look around...THIS is how you throw a party!" LOL, later, on FB he went on to commend the DJ for playing such great music that "turned all the Queens out!" hahaha! my 2yo danced for 4 hours straight with everyone! such a great time! And, thank you for your support. It does help to know that I'm not alone in how I feel. And I'll definitely ask that question & thank you for the article! I'll read it today!

@vlagrl29 Seriously, that's amazing that you've got that neuropath to help you pinpoint your triggers to help you feel better again. Thank you for your support-it truly helps. Ugh, feel better soon!

@Momifbysea Thank you for sharing your story with me. I knew this road would have it's struggles but wasn't expecting this. I appreciate your input and find comfort in knowing I'm not the only one. Enjoy your time with your aunt!!

  • @mich_elle Well you aren't alone here and can always tell us anything! :) I thought when I moved to TX, my DH's meat-loving crazy family already thought I was a freak being a vegetarian...who knew it could be any worse! LOL It's bad enough at family events having everyone worry about what I'm going to eat. I feel like a 5 yr old sometimes, but now they worry about my actual eggs!! :D

  • @kristimh80 LOL! DH is Filipino and although we've been married 6 yrs in April, they still worry about the white girl and what she's going to eat! LOL! And mostly everyone on his side has no trouble having babies-his family is huge. His one cousin & his wife struggled with IF and did several rounds of IVF that was OOP for them and they are CFNBC. She's in her late 40s and had issues so last year she had to have a hysterectomy. I've not heard one mention of anyone using a surrogate or consider adoption. I wonder if it's a cultural thing. I don't really know. Anyway, they have two dogs, she shops like it's her job and he just bought a motorcycle! They're actually down in Daytona, FL for like, bike week or something?!? I actually regret telling my mom, who I FaceTime daily, bc she's always like: can you afford this? what about your weight? aren't you too old? what if you have twins? what if you end up with nothing? what if, what if, what if? I'm like, mom, relax! I can't handle her voicing all of my friggin doubts on a daily basis. I don't want to effing talk about it!! I know she's just concerned for me and doesn't know how to help but...well, you get it!
Me: 42, dx: DOR (AFC: 5), low AMH (0.163), blocked tube, fibroid
DH: 44, dx: ED (uses Cialis), low count/motility (17 million/44%)

  • @Momifbysea I’m not 100% sure but Im gonna say the same as my SIL since we use the same clinic. About 3 weeks after I get AF.. I’ll be taking Estradriol, PIO(5days before transfer), and Endometrim suppositories and some antiobiotic suppository the day prior to transfer. So I’m hoping around the second week of April. I’m feeling crampy today so I really hope AF gets here next week and we can get this show on the road

@ndz2018 - Haven't gotten there yet.  I did however go to my family doctor today for his input.  He thinks the nausea is from the anxiety.  If I have a great nights sleep I usually don't get nauseous.  If I do it's not that big of deal.  So what he did was have my blood drawn today to test for some things - all the basic stuff plus cortisol and a couple others like the blood sugars and stuff.  I find out that stuff tomorrow when the nurse calls me.  Now as far as the sleep goes - he recommended the lowest dose of ambien for 2 weeks.  He said usually after that you get your normal sleep pattern back.  I'm nervous to take a med after my clomid experience but I'm very desparate for sleep.  So I"m getting it filled today.  any of you take that?

  • @vlagrl29 Ambien is great! I was on it for way longer than 2 weeks though. He’ll probably give you 5mg. They come in 10mg and 12.5mg time released. I have Battles with insomnia for a very long time since I was 19 . It 100%knocked me out for a good 6 hours every night. The only thing you gotta worry about is having sex in the middle of the night and totally not remember.. GUILTY HERE!  :D:D
  • @ndz2018 - that's great to hear.  Yeah he gave me the lowest dose.  So you did  not have multiple night wakenings on it?  I'm waking 4 x a night currently at least 1 of them take me awhile to fall back.  And you feel fine the next day.  I usually prefer 8 hours of sleep.

  • @mich_elle Omg that literally made me LOL "what's the white girl going to eat"?  :D My mom has been good but my husband has been driving me crazy thinking about switching companies. I'm thinking...of all times, this is not it! He's constantly stressing me out becaus he's a worrier. I want to tell him to find a shrink b/c I don't need it at the moment lol

  • @vlagrl29 As far as I can remember and if I did Wake up I’m sure it was to pee or something then right back to bed.
  • @ndz2018 - well I'll let you know how it goes - kinda nervous but I'm very exhausted

  • @mich_elle - my mom has said on multiple occasions that at my age (37)  things are starting to slow down and hormones are probably already shifting for perimenopause - it use to bother me but nothing bothers me anymore lol.

@Momifbysea - Their toys are so expensive!  I bet babies r us stays because you need places for a registry.

@ndz2018 - she said they shouldnt cause nausea but we talked and decided for me to not take a single supplement tomorrow and see how that goes.  I may just be taking to much crap!  Between all the supplements and detoxes and I'm feeling like I might as well be pregnant for as crappy as I feel ha!  She also told me it was ok to try the ambien now that i'm recovering even though I don't feel I am.

  • I was so hopeful the 5mg of ambien would work for me but it didn't. I was asleep 3 hours then woke up. Didn't want to take anything else in case of bad interaction. Going to call doc today. Go back to the Ativan tonight since I got more sleep on that and see if maybe I should try a higher dose. What was your dose @ndz2018
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • @vlagrl29 I was On 10mg.  I also had to take Xanax(some family as Ativan ) and Ambien together sometimes BUT check with your doctor first on that. Some advice when you’re taking the Ambien... go to bed and right when you feel yourself get sleepy take it.
  • @ndz2018 - yeah my pharmacist said not to take ativan with ambien so that's what I did.  I took it 30 minutes prior to bed.  So disappointing.  ugh

  • @ndz2018 - is ambien a drug that has to build up in your system?  That's what the nurse said to me - like it may take a week before you get a full night sleep.  I wouldn't think so.

Question about first cycle off meds - AF is due to come this weekend but no spotting, no sore boobs, but CM is scant like it is end of cycle I think.  Does AF tend to come later first cycle off?

Also, my family doc took got the blood work back and the only thing off was my cortisol which was a bit high I guess which I figured since my naturopath told me that so he referred me to an endocrinologist and I see her April 11.  Never been to one of those doctors.
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • @vlagrl29 No, Absolutely not! There is stuff called Belisora or something like that has to build up in your system but Ambien should work instant. Maybe she got them confused. Or she’s an idiot.
  • lol!  I vote for the later @ndz2018

  • @vlagrl29 Meds can for sure affect your cycle. I was 8 days late this last one, which was my first  full cycle off any medication.
